The high quality reviews and social media marketing did not meet my expectations or standards. The store did have a good ambience which was the only plus.

To begin with the food was disappointing to say the least.
1) Xiao Long Bao was too salty, we didn’t finish it.
2) “Numbing Chicken” was just cold chicken in chilli oil, super underwhelming.
3) Tuna Taki was somehow tough. However, the sauce was amazing! This was the last dish to come out, even though it was a “starter” and we had to follow up on the dish.
4) Char kway teow was super dry and the whole dish was left behind
5) peking duck fried rice had no flavour and whole dish was also left behind
6) Barramundi was too sweet
7) Iced Lemon tea tasted like straight syrup, we had to dilute it with more water for it to be drinkable.

Highlights of the experience:
1) Chrysanthemum tea pot! Super strong flavour and was amazing.
2) 1/2 peking duck was probably the best dish we had.

Customer service was a 2/5.
Booking was for 3 people, and the table had 4 sets.
- Staff kept trying to bring out more food without clearing the 4th set of plates/cutlery and we had to ask for the staff members to then clear it.
- Mentioned previously, one of our starters came out LAST and we had to follow up on it.
- We ordered an orange juice but received an apple juice, staff member was happy to follow up and apologise though!
- Gentleman running the tables, gave us our bill but didn’t ask us how our meal was. Seems rather small but for a restaurant who is on the higher end side, it was poor customer service in my eyes.
- A plus side was that, staff members were able to replenish water fast

Overall, my friends and I were highly disappointed. Food presentation was perfect but the overall taste was a 3/10, very below average. Service was also below average.
It truly feels like I wasted $200.

Chill crab & salted egg crab was bomb, the cauliflower was really nice too. Would always come back

The atmosphere isn't overly done so it gives off a subdued, but luxurious feel. Although the price may be a bit intimidating for some items on the menu,
it was absolutely amazing nonetheless, and given that every ingredient is clearly fresh and premium, it makes the price well worth it. Staff are focused on giving you the best time of the night while enjoying their food. Highly rated, will definitely eat here many more times to come.

Incredible lunch deal with their Hainan chicken rice, thoroughly enjoyed their salted eggs chicken eggs too.

Walk in with high expectations, but walk out with tons of disappointments

The food was good but the service was poorly presented.

I requested a table with a space to fit in the pram with my booking. My friend got there on time, after a long 20 minutes of waiting, she said the manager did not read my notes, and was having a hard time to find a table to fit in the pram. So we agreed to settle with a table which able to fit a high chair instead. (My baby was not ready for a high chair therefore I requested the extra space).

The manager led us to the table, and there was a space to fit in my pram without causing interruption to others. But, He refused to let me park my pram and the reason being the table is not at the end of the restaurant? Hello.you messed up with my booking and you did not even want to make it up for your mistake? My son ended up has to sit on a hard rock high chair which is nowhere close to comfortable. I then requested the table next to us once the family is finished with their meal, because my son was getting agitated and needed his pram for a nap.

I can't describe how disappointed I was with this whole experience, even through the food was amazing, I would never come back the second time with the overpriced dishes, especially the poor customer service.

Great food & take away cocktails. They have the best Hainan chicken rice & Singaporean chilli crab. Quality ingredients. Very good value. We keep some leftover for picnic next day

Was a terrible experience! The BBQ pork is far to fat and oily! I feel like I am getting a stroke right away! The “Wood Smoked Cantonese Duck” is no difference to a normal roast duck apart from an exorbitant price! What a bloody rip off! Even worse, the Pak Choy is so flat and long, the chunky pak choy leaf nearly choked my aunt! Such a horrible Friday experience!

I ordered Peking duck, and they gave me without sauce…when I went to pick up and all the chefs didn’t wear mask and they were eating and cooking, the kitchen was so messing. I will never go back again! Food taste below average and cost so expensive!

I order from here almost everyday, I love the staff here when I've gone into the restaurant. On two occasions with two different staff members, one a young gentleman and the other young lady, I am sorry but I didn't get your names! I wish I had! These two staff members are a benefit to your restaurant. I have never felt more welcome than when I come into Tian 38. I will always choose this restaurant over others purely because of how I am treated when I come in.

The ambience in this restaurant is amazing as well and the decor is **FABULOUS**. Thank you so much for everything, I appreciate all aspects of this restaurant.

New go-to for hainanese chicken cravings. The free range chicken is a healthy + Alan went above and beyond to help me figure out the delivery service option since this was my 1st time ordering food online and accommodate my requests. EXTRA red chilli and ginger garlic sauce is a must. Absolute delish. Check it out. You be the judge

Working around the corner, I saw this place being built with great anticipation. I've been here a few times now and it's one of those places I'm glad to bring people to when I'm in the city.

The food is excellent, the menu is really interesting, and their lunch specials are fantastic. The food isn't super authentic (lots of fusion between Chinese/Japanese, Chinese/Malaysian, etc), but I highly recommend them if you're after a a great meal.

The food and cocktails are amazing. On a busy Saturday night, the food was served promptly. Everything we ordered was great. Highlights include the Mushroom Truffle Fried Rice, Cauliflower, Beef Skewers and the Spicy Prawn and Pork Wontons.

Alan and the team are very professional, humble and accommodated us very well!

We are definitely coming back!

One of the best Singapore and Malaysia food I have tried in Australia. Love the Satay and Hainan chicken, i highly recommend Tian38 to everyone. They also have very friendly staff.

I love their chicken satay the satay sauce is spot on, the char koey tiao not bad, if left longer in hot wok to create more char then would be best. For dessert, the pandan gelato is so delicious, could be more presentable by adding just a little garnish on a plate.

Always good coming here for a casual lunch, or a dine in dinner. Service is always good, and the bloody food is tip top!

Came here on Sunday for a lunch and ordered the chicken satay, Peking duck, lobster noodles and salted egg yolk prawns.
The good: the ambience was nice with friendly and helpful staff. The salted egg yolk prawns were really good and so was the chicken satay and Peking duck. We ordered the half serving for the duck for 3 people and it was plenty.
The bad: the lobster noodles was not so good. The lobster tasted a bit fishy, almost as if it was slightly undercooked. The noodles are a little chewy and the sauce was rather salty as well. The Peking duck and satay sauce were just a tad too salty for my liking as well.
It's not a cheap place but I wouldn't mind going back again to try other dishes.
