Tiamo reviews
68Really enjoyed the food here. Ordered the bruschetta (which was nice but I missed the shaved parmesan that I usually associate with the dish), spaghetti marinara and ragu penne, both were delicious and we left very happy. Service was quick, despite how busy they were. One thing that annoys me is when you get corrected with the pronunciation of a dish, this happened with the bruschetta, I wished they just left it alone as they clearly understood what I ordered. It was a hot night and the table water was warm, would have loved it being cold. We are definitely going to come back and if you are in the area and looking for some pasta (or pizza), definitely worth giving this place a go.
Visiting for work and was taken there as a group of 8. Staff did their best to get us a table and worth the short wait. Great service, great food and great gnocchi!
For an Italian restaurant the Italian food is just average.the service is good but the place is dingey could do with a well overdue lift
We went to Tiamo for my daughter's birthday, our food was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. We can't wait to go back.
Beautiful and efficient staff and AMAZING food. Very fast service and the freshest pasta I’ve tasted
Went on a Saturday night, ran out of Chicken Parma’s by 9. This was a shame.
However, the service was good enough to offer some free garlic bread on the house, which was really nice and made up for it! Would return, as long as there’s some parma’s left haha
Atmosphere. Food always good. Wine ditto. The old Italian guys who serve you and make sure everything is okay. Kitschy interiors with lots of old-time adverts and signs to look at and talk about. The buzz when busy. A cosy home-iness. That's why I've been going there for decades.
Tiamo is Tiamo, always very good, not a place you go to for innovation. We had a couple of vegans with us so tried a couple of the pizzas with vegan cheese as starters and were very impressed how much it has improved.
My wife and I have been here on 4 or 5 occasions and each time we really enjoyed the food. Their gnocchi are amazing. The pizzas (even though not wood-fire) are great too. The staff has always been very friendly and professional. One of our favourites in Carlton.
Went into the corner store of Tiamo. The atmosphere was great, the decorations of the restaurant had a very vintage look to it. The pasta was fresh and absolutely delicious.
Great atmosphere with a good selection of food for adults and kids.and vegetarians.
The kids loved the margaritas and Bologna with spaghetti.
The vegetarians had had the tortellini tartufo.
To top it up we had some sangiovese with cannoli and chocolate mouse for desert.
Overall the place is busy but cosy at the same time. The food, atmosphere and drinks were spot for our family.
From the atmosphere to the food to the fruity wine, the experience does not disappoint.
Like family weekends in a time long ago, upon demolishing the delectable fare, you're left looking forward to the next visit, pondering the creations which will delight you, from your tongue all the way to your toes.
It gets fairly busy for a Wednesday Eve but the staff are attentive and, in my opinion, attractive which makes the wait bearable. So as long as you bring a warm coat, as heating outside doesn't cover every table, and good company, you're sure to have a wonderful night out.
The food here retains the good ole Italian saying “less is more” with their sauces complimenting the char of the pizza, the bitterness of the arugula and much much more. The one thing that stuck to my head was the waiter who had excellent service and expertise, took away the dishes with finesse. The hot latte I ordered wasn’t to my taste being that I am a teen and the drink was too bitter for someone who goes out for some occasional boba tea. All and all, would definitely come again.
Food is amazing here, the staff are friendly, everytime I dine here my culinary expectations are exceeded, definitely recommend you dine here
Great food as always. Children friendly (including child portions). Pasta was excellent- tasty and good quality.
Racist and unpleasant. Will not dine in again.
We were in the corner shop sitting inside. The older gentleman that seated us was rude and unprofessional during our meal. When we asked for the bill he murmured something but will not bring the bill, we ended up going to the counter to pay and he served the customers who asked for the bill after us first.
When it’s our turn, he simply refuses to interact with us and murmured something. Another gentleman had to come and assist us instead. It’s not an issue of him not being able to speak English because he spoke English with the Caucasian customers in front of us.
The food is good but not good enough to receive disrespectful service like this.
Went to Tiamo last night horrible service wait for so long to get table. Then is no menus we have to ask waiter for menu also we ask we are ready for order. We order soup and pizza ask waiter to get soup first. Guess what food order get changed waiter told pizza come first. So we have to eat according to Tiamo resturant rule completely horrible experience. Our table number was 137. Ask waiter to give us plate to share pizza as usual waiter forgot to bring plate. Then we have to ask another waiter. Also we order beers no beer before food. We have to remind waiter for our beer. Waiters are completely hopeless.
What outstanding service, kindly sitting us next to an outdoor heater, much care to cater for a vegan and another particular eater and great food and perfect selection of wine. Thanks.
The staff were very rude and absolutely clueless. Worst customer service at any restaurant I’ve been to in Melbourne. Even McDonalds has better service.
The menu and the food look like they are from the 90’s and don’t taste much better either
Got kicked out at the end of the night.not quite but we were the last to leave and didn't get moved along once. I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was sensational. I'm going back just to eat that dish. Staff were really accommodating and nice especially as we had kids so that always adds an element to the night. Recommend it for good honest Italian food
