The Village Bakery Brunswick reviews
64Amazing bakery and highly recommended. I would give it 5 stars - the only flaw is the wait. The line is huge and usually only have 2 (maybe 3) staff at serving. As a result the wait is usually 10-15 minutes. I know it’s good for a business to show they’re busy and the psychological aspect of the wait demonstrates popularity to others. Furthermore, as customers the commitment to waiting enhances the privilege of receiving such great baked goods. However, I would sincerely recommend more staff to attend to customers. I would go here more often and am constantly put of by the long wait. You need at least 4 people serving during peak times. Maybe, it’s due to a lack of staff available however I feel like that’s not the case….
Wow the pies, so so so good! Chicken and leek, lamb and rosemary, such quality, generous size. Super impressed!
I have recently moved to the area and was eager to try the much talked about Village Bakery. I arrived at 10: 00 on a Sunday morning and was greeted with extremely loud heavy rock music. It was so loud I noticed many of the customers had difficulty communicating with the staff. I have to ask, who is the music there for? The produce may be good but with that type of atmosphere I will not be returning.
Amazing breads and pastries and coffee - just wish they would keep the coffee machine running until they close!
I must have got them on a bad day, terrible pie that feel apart, with even worse customer service.
Amazing food.
Good coffee.
Slow customer service.
Edit: downgraded to 3 stars because they are still using plastic packaging + plastic bag ties.
Brunswick South West Primary sincerely thanks the Village Bakery for assisting with the catering our first event in 2022 - a welcome morning tea for new families. It was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thx G
Consistently high quality home made pies and pasties which are absolutely delicious with generous fillings.
Pastries are filled with authentic creme patissiere, and are light and not overly sweet.
Quality is comparable or even exceeds known high end gourmet pie and pastry brands.
Can’t wait to try the bread.
I’ve found all current staff to be polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you
We arrived at 3 and were disappointed to find that they were not making any more coffee for the day (even though they close at 4). We took some takeaway pastries to eat at home and they were delicious. I am hoping to go back and try their coffee.
Never thought I'd be one of those Germans complaining about the quality of bread when living abroad.but Village Bakery helped a lot with his struggle! Great rustic dark rye bread!
Extremely rude staff with horrible service.
Horrible hygiene measures in place and very rude staff. Will not be back.
Went yesterday morning for the first time in a very long time.staff member came across very rude and unwelcoming. Ordered a soy latte only to be disappointed with the quality.
This bakery is worth crossing town for! You've not tasted pastry until you discover it here! They are masters! Their pastries are crisp, flakey, full of flavour. & still melt in your mouth! The only challenge is choosing which ones to have!
Great coffee & lovely staff too!
Village bakery is my FAV place to visit. All through lockdown I'd visit a couple of times a week to eat their delicious prosciutto croissants and buy their amazing bread. Thanks to the beautiful humans that work there, always so friendly and welcoming in tough times!
Sad there were no prices on these cupcakes or pastries. But a lovely mouthful of crisp fresh pastry was a great redeemer.
That bakery has become an institution in Brunswick in the last 10 years. It is now so popular that you will often need to line up on weekend to get the opportunity to purchase the precious products. Highly recommend the dark rye loaf, the quiches are delicious, most pastries and cakes are outstanding. This has led to a premium pricing.
Every time my stomach plays games with me on what to eat in the morning, the Village Bakery puts it back in place with the variety of foods to peck on. Never fails me
One of the greatest bakeries in town, I came in for a coffee and left with a coffee and 10 small cakes. Food is the best around
I have been longing to visit this place. Always seems crowded. Best place to enjoy coffee and bread. A bit costly for me though. But the quality seems great. Please do try. For the things that I ordered it came around $18.
I was unprepared to visit this place! I walked in thinking I'm gonna pick up a few doughnuts for breakfast, but was I wrong! The beautiful selection of pastries, doughnuts, bread and cakes made me feel like a kid in a candy shop! I wanted to get them all! I had to make do with 8 pieces only! I'm probably gonna try them all till I settle on my fav few! Do visit this gem!
