The Tea Room reviews
69 We went there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
Staff were super attentive, especially Rosie. We enjoyed the “high tea “.
Even with half the tables occupied, after lining up we were smugly told we have to book online.
Book on line for a sandwich, no thanks
Our non alcohol High Tea, was brilliant; staff were very attentive, it was definitely value for money, and I highly recommend it. We did it after our Picasso Tour, so a wonderful long gallery adventure. Thank you.
High tea was yummy, highly recommended
And if your going for high tea book in. Trust me gets busy
Delicious sandwiches and cakes, and good quality tea. The service was also quick, helpful and pleasant.
Good quality food and good coffee. Thoughtfully done. Tasty vegan options. Sencha was not good (but it's rare to find good Sencha made properly).
Very poor service. Waited half an hour for the glass of sparkling, a further 15mins for the high tea. One coffee arrived with the high tea but I had to wait a further 30min for a pot of tea despite asking twice. Scones hard on the outside. Expensive for what we received, $158 for a round of sandwiches, 3 small savouries, and 3 mini cakes + 2 scones each, plus the wine and tea each. Won't go back
Lovely to sit down for some good quality sandwiches and delicious soup in pleasant surrounds, pleasant and helpful staff and a chance to chat about all the wonderful works of art.
Staff absolutely great. Very professional and attentive.
Food was plentiful and very tasty.
Table was rather small to fit all the food and drinks
Overall a very good experiemce
Very enjoyable. Food was very tasty and well presented. Catered to dietary requirements. Service was great.
Efficient, friendly service. Lovely glass of French Champagne with a tasty selection of mixed finger sandwiches and a pot of tea. Just right after seeing Chanel.
We shared a wonderful day today at the Chanel exhibition followed by a lovely at the A La Carte lunch at the tea rooms
My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Tea Room. The sandwiches were scrumptious. The service was excellent.
I have been coming to the Tea Room at NGV for a very long time. Today was not a good day. It used to be a cosy place to have lunch or afternoon tea and reminded us of cafes in Europe. Since reopening after the lockdown the place is bare, uncomfortable and very, very noisy. It looks more like a cafeteria and we are very disappointed.
I love the Tea Room. Dining is casual with friendly and attentive staff. Glad I prebooked which is essential.
Great experience for my granddaughters but pricey for what was offered for the high tea
experience - needed to be more generous
The French High Tea was really beautiful & all the food was very tasty. The staff were also really lovely & very attentive.
We always enjoy dining at the tea rooms. The food is always divine and the coffee today was exceptional. We are never disappointed when we visit!
Perfect place for friends to share a quiet meal after visiting exhibition. Quiet and civilised with good service.
There are so many beautiful places to enjoy High Tea at the NGV and this is tucked away in a dark corner of the building where you cannot appreciate the space you are in.
The high tea was really nice but the location in the building is so disappointing, wouldn't go again unfortunately.
