The Munster Arms Hotel

We recently visited whilst on a road trip and stopped here for dinner. We chose as it was a short walk from our accommodation. A lovely find. Great pan fried schnitzel! Friendly staff. Great Irish pub at Bakery Hill in the heart of Ballarat!

Food when delivered after 50 mins was barely warm. People that ordered well after us were served before. We told the staff on payment. No real response or resolution. No care factor. Will not be return.

Lovely little old style pub. Fabulous food and service. Rib eye steak chips and veg $49.50. Battered fish and chip w. Salad $27.00. Got their just before meals went off at 8.30 and it was simply lovely. Thursday night and an Irish band was playing so we sat a little away to have a quieter dinner together and talk. Rare date night and a few nights away from home. Not usually our chosen music but we both found ourselves tapping our feet along regardless lol! Overall lovely food and the staff were fabulous. We would happily eat here again and would recommend it to others. Thanks for a great night xxx June 2023 xxx

What a ripper pub. Very friendly service on a busy Sunday night. Beautiful Irish Stew and perfectly poured Guinness. What more do you need?

We caught up for a family lunch and had a great afternoon. Meals and drinks were great, Marley was a fantastic waitress/bar tender. Decent pricing too!

Very friendly staff, great food! The kids meals have the option to replace chips with veggies which I LOVE and don’t see often. My son prefers veggies over chips so actually ate some dinner (he’s one lol). Accidentally left a bottle behind and the bartender washed it and had it waiting when I came back to collect. Beautiful friendly people! Highly recommend.

Good food and service. Booked a table for ten people right next to the bar area, so very noisy.

Very special treat. Enjoyed generous servings of a hearty Irish Stew with crusty bread and an excellent Risotto - accommodating gluten free. Cheesecake was awesome. Again, generous serving. Service was prompt, staff were friendly and helpful. Will be back.

Came with no booking (Sat night). Got seated immediately. First drinks came with in minutes of order and food within 15 minutes of order. We got the Nochi (absolutely amazing) and the Parma (awesome, especially with veg and chips).

The restaurant is located at the corner of roundabout.

It was really tender, not just big cut. It was thick slice so they use calamari not squid

For the main, we had porthouse steak 4: medium rare, mushroom sauce with chips and salad.

Each dish had generous thickness of meat. Stew was tender, rich red wine stew with warm veg and porthouse was just a slightly chewy. May be because of good thickness

The local red wine Templanillo from Armstrong VICwas great and smooth to my liking

They had the fantastic live music. It was so good that I thought they played CD until I hear the clapping.

Great food. Went to a trivia night and enjoyed it. Had roast duck with veges and mash. The jue was perfect with the duck. Hubby and I plan to go back for a meal again soon.

Fantastic meal the steak was cooked perfectly as was requested. The staff friendly and welcoming. Oh and the beer was cold.couldn't ask for more

Staff is friendly, service is great, food is fantastic. This will be my local each time I am in Ballarat. Give it a visit if you are there, you won't be disappointed.

Interesting historical hotel, friendly staff, good food. The Irish stew actually had potato in it.

Food was fantastic definitely a big step above the normal pub food you'd expect. Staff were friendly courteous & knowledgeable about the details of each meal. Very nice venue beautifully presented flavoursome meals, very highly recommend & can't wait to go back.
