I've been working in a fish and chip shop myself for the last 20 years, at the moment we have a limit of only 2 customer at any time. It is very hard while been very busy in the shop our self to have control while trying to work at the same time. A lot of customer do take notice, some don't care about the rule. We try to in force it as much as we can and we do notice customer out sided to either order, or pay for their dinner. The rule we have in the shop is, if you have order in the shop, or pay for your phone order to please wait outside and not come in the shop and stand in sided, thats where the issue to come around.

Food is always good but, was disappointed that quite a few people were not observing the "Max 5 people" sign in the window but really disappointed that no from the shop was enforcing this. People waiting outside couldn't go in to collect or pay their orders.

Excellent fish and chips. Not over cooked not undercooked. Just the right amount of batter on the fish. Didn't have to wait too long. A good number system for orders. Good value.

When it comes to fish & chips; this place simply has their niche & expertise in this division.
Sure ; the somewhat penurious & confined serving sizes, and a tad pricey ; but still is amazing.
The no EFTPOS isnt that grate.but for me I prefer to use cash. Others it may irratate.

I always love myself a nice fish and chips meal with a glass of red wine.
Describing the meal I obtained a week ago:
- tasty chips, could use more salt.
- excellent fish fillet & nice niche of batter.
- solid calamari
- Good potato cakes but need to be bigger.
- clean store

Could be more generous with giving more chips in the single & lunch packs for sure & I would of given 6 stars if they had EFTPOS. The atm adjacent charges $2.5 to use it.could of bought 2 potato cakes with that.

Best fish and chips in Croydon; theres room for improvement with being more generous with serving sizes, and EFTPOS.

A fortnight ago.ordered a lovely souvlaki that was adjacent to a bundle of greek salad.so fresh + tangy. However the amount of meat inside.not enough. Needed to be more generous with the amount of chips + the perimeter of the lamb and the bread wrap. I hope they can fix this. Still the best fish and chips in the 3136 ; no questions asked, no contest. I would give 6 stars if they had a eftpos machine.

ADVANTAGES=
-Excellent chips
- nice crispy fish fillet
- great scallops.
- great spring rolls.
- nice tzatziki with the souvas
DISADVANTAGES =
- greedy serving sizes, meal packs need more chips & perimeter of fish fillet can be improved
-NO EFTPOS.come on lads.
- high price.

Other than that, this place is the best fish and chips shop in Australia.

Summarising the synopsis of the fish and chips i ordered last wednesday; this is what i can honestly provoke and apprehense.

Year by year, fast food outlets become rather ungenerous with serving portions; and in conjunction with this they will increase price.

The duo pack bundle we got, was remarkably awful. That fish fillett was soggy, and dry and sickly. Do not get me started on the potato cake, was undercooked and was so darn small, like a kids meal size or something i would feed to my cat.

All the staff stand in one spot and look at your peculiarly ; my partner felt anxious when ordering.

Also a friendly note, for petes sake get an EFTPOS!

No eftpos. Clearly some tax evasion going on. Was told they dont have eftpos because money doesnt show up instantly. Get real. Got told to drive to croydon main st to get cash out. Wont be back. Also calamari is over priced

I've just moved to the area and gave this place a try.
Con's
1. The advertised closing time was 8.30 pm. Unlike most similar takeaways that will take orders up until closing time, this place means they want to be cleaned up, doors locked and out of there by 8.30 pm.
We arrived at 8.15 to a miserable almost rude reception from the lady behind the counter. She was clearly put out and inconvenienced by our 'late' arrival. We were allowed to order as long as it was something 'fried' as everything else had been turned off. Someone else arrived shortly after us and didn't get served. Judging by their reaction, they won't be back.
2. They don't take Eftpos, and I didn't bring cash. "Use the machine next door". I did for $2.50. It's 2019 I can only think of one reason a business insists on cash.
4. No malt vinegar (as usual in this country)
Pros
1. I had blue grenadier in batter. The fish was a good size, tasty, well cooked with a light thin crispy batter. Excellent - couldn't fault it.
2. The place appears to be spotlessly clean.
3. Reasonably priced
4. Good pickled onions

Not sure if I'd go back as there are plenty of other options, and I like to visit friendly places that at least appear to appreciate my custom.

Could EASILY have been 5 stars

We experienced bad fish and chips in late november 2018 ; and we tried to avoid it being the case. There was word in the community that they re opened during the xmas break.and that they were still bad.but we gave them 1 more shot on thursday. Due to the expensive prices we got a few lunch packs.and my GOODNESS where they small in amount of chips, size and perimeter of fish fillet.escalating to the dim sims, they were just plain horrible.we chucked them out to the bird bath.and the fish fillet had as much flavour as a frozen mcains fish fillet, and the chips as wet as a ocean.a zebra cannot change its stripes; and really no efptos?

-Stingy serving sizes.
- Stupid increased in prices.
- Un-fresh fish and potato cakes.
- Soggy chips.
- Horrible dim sims

My work colleague advised me to stay away from this place, and i live nearby the area so my cuz yesterday ordered us fish and chips for the sake of convenience.

Fantastic traditional fish and chips. I don't understand many of the negative reviews below other than thinking they may have been for the 2nd fish and chip store nearby which has since closed.
This store serves amazing traditional fish and chips. The best crunchy chips in the city and just all round fantastic. We've moved a few suburbs away but still make the trip because I can't find anywhere else as good.

lve just seen all the feedback just now.l work in a fish and chip shop and have been since 2000. Not saying which one l work out myself but to let everyone know and remain all the ones complaining about not having a card, we also dont have card at ours. I dont hear any of our customers giving a negitive feedback about it over and over again. Really.

Their is fish and chip shop out their in melbourne only doing cash. Shame l dont work at this shop. Give them some credit guys come on.
