The Island Accommodation reviews
60This hostel is really nice and we enjoyed our stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions and gave us tips about where to go on the island. The room we stayed in was lovely and spacious, and even had some toiletries and towels to use. The kitchen was big and clean, which is rare for a hostel! The lounge area was fab where we could play table tennis, and even had a Christmas tree up which was a nice touch. The TV room was cosy, and had some great DVDs to watch. And to top it off, there was some beautiful views from the rooftop terrace which is a lovely area to relax in the sun! Would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely disappointed with my stay at this location. On initial booking I was not informed that this was a YHA Hostel the impression I was given when making the booking is that this is a Motel, when I asked for accommodation for 3 adults I was informed that there were 4 rooms an en-suite and a shared kitchen NOT that it was a room not much bigger than a prison cell from the 80's, the kitchen was down stairs, no air conditioning and one chair in the room for 4 people. So you can imagine my surprise when I arrived and found that I had paid premium prices for a 3rd World experience 2 bunk beds so I could not sleep with my wife, 1 chair no towels, even able to make a cup of coffee or tea, even a budget motel that costs less than the tariffs here supply that. I honestly believe that this place misrepresents itself on the Internet by being listed under Hotels and Motels. They even want you to take your linen down stairs on check out. My advise to anyone reading this is this place you will find much better for the same rates.
It is a great place for the family and group functions. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach where you can take take walk by the ocean as well as take some awesome photos of both sunset and sunrise.
Decent size of double room and facilities. Cleanliness is alright, check-in anytime, free parking, location is quite nice. Share kitchen is locked in mid-night, and fridge is fully occupied.
Stopped by the cafe and enjoyed the burger and fries. Nice homely place with a local Phillip island vibe.
Great place to stay. Fantasticly helpful staff, good location, simple ecofriendly place to sray.
Really great accomodation. Clean, lovely open spaces. We took a school group for a camp, the students had a great time.
Clean, comfy, spacious. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment. Would definitely come here again
I assume that the room was okey. Sadly worse than expected though. We came into a room that wasn't cleaned properly. With someone elses used soap etc still laying in the bathroom. The staff seem very nice though!
My second time staying here was great the rooms and shared areas are clean and comfortable. Best for school groups or travelling groups rather than a luxury getaway.
Great affordable hostel. I took a group of 14 kids there and they liked the big kitchen, TV room and games area.
The manager was very flexible and accommodating to us. Thanks for being so great!
WORST PLACE ON PHILIP ISLAND! WE CAUGHT THE STAFF IN OUR ROOMS GOING THROUGH OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS! BE CAREFUL OF THIS PLACE! THE WORKER THERE LARSOM THE FAT BLOKE. WE CAUGHT HOM IN OUR ROOM! GOING THROUGH OUR LUGGAGE!
DO NOT STAY HERE BE WARNED!
Cheap, clean, easy. Top value off-season, when you might score a room to yourself, ordinary value when fill of backpackers
Best location to everything. 5 mins walk to beach and 5 mins drive to bottle shop. Big space for parking.well maintained kitchens and lounges.
Exactly what it says on the box. Good facilities, maintained well. Rooftop area completely bare; concrete with no chairs.
I stayed in this hostel for more than a month and I loved every moment of my stay! There is a fully equipped kitchen (there were even freezers), a tv-room with movies and games, a lounge area with a ping pong table and board games and a rooftop from where you have a wonderful view on the water. All the common areas and bedrooms are clean and spacious and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hostel for both short-term and long-term stay!
Loved our stay there, Only downfall was th Kitchen on lvl 2 wasn't opened but other than that it was an awesome stay, beds were comfy, was like sleeping on clouds. The staff were aweome specially th night staff very welcoming except for tht Lisa chick, She gave me the Dirty look. Not a nice way t welcome guest now is it Lisa!
Small but cozy rooms with a great social environment and many activities to engage in with others
Good facilities but they force you to go to sleep at 10: 45 because they close all the common areas. If you want to sit in a couch reading a book you can't. It's completely annoying!
Smaller than expected, especially for such a hefty price (155 a night for a small double bed room with no food allowed and no kitchen.)
