The Groove Train Eastland

Overpriced because the quality is terrible. Poor quality ingredients, I got the seafood pasta, the prawns were overcooked, mussels were gritty and poor quality oils. Skip this place. If you want actually quality for the same price head up to Gradi in the town square instead.

Came here for the first time and it was NOT busy, maybe 4 tables of people who had already had their drinks/meals.
We were seated, given menus and sat there waiting to be served for drinks or even food, for approximately 20 minutes maybe.
The staff were making eye contact with us but just didn't serve us. Until we basically waved one of them down. They took our order, the food service was fast and food was alright.

The service from one the waiters (male) was appalling, he mumbled, didn't make any eye contact and you knew he hated his job. He just put our cutlery into a pile on the side of the table.

My partner ordered a raspberry soft drink, it was basically flat soda water with WAY too much raspberry cordial, we both couldn't drink it. It was disgusting.

We have been to the Groove Train at Knox and Chirnside Park many, many times and their service is 100 times better than Eastland.

Won't be back.

No service! We found ourselves at GT Eastlands on wednesday morning 19th June as it was quiet and we wanted quiet due to my friends hearing impairment. Now know why it was quiet unlike forset hill store which in my experience is always busy!
After taking our drink orders staff avoided us the whole hour + we were there. Not at any point did the come to see if our drinks were ok (coffee was undrinkable). They never came over to ask us if we wanted to order anything else or offer water. Two staff were too busy chatting to wait on us.the only two customers in store.

Prices were on point with the good quality, the butter chicken unexpectedly came with been sprouts but it was a welcome surprise that helped balance the dish, tangy apple mocktail was a fantastic palette cleanser

Although the food was good it took so long for a waitress to take out our order that we eventually had to just go up and order after waiting 20 minutes and saw a table that came in after us had already had their order taken. Food took ages to come and honestly we almost left. Have had good experiences at the groove train before but never going to go to the one in Eastland again

I ordered a lamb souvlaki with chips, the homemade flatbread was hard and tough to pull apart then you’ve got the slimy tomato which was disintegrating! I ate half of it then I stopped because it ruin my appetite. I told a staff member, they said sorry and offered me something else but no refund was given My friend had the lamb pizza which looked really nice but 80% of it was just cheese so after two slices she couldn’t eat the rest. They took that off the bill. To be honest I will never be coming back and I would not recommend this restaurant! The food is not good quality for the high price! ️

Food was good and friendly wait staff, but had to wait for food and only one restroom for the whole restaurant

This place looks great and the staff is prompt and friendly, however- the food was horrible. I have been here twice and both times our orders were covered in oil and had zero flavour. Today’s experience was the worst by far. I ordered gluten free spaghetti bol and was given normal, making me very unwell, and my husbands garlic pizza which I had a piece of, tasted only of oil and was HORRIBLE.overall I would not go here ever again.

Food was horribly oily & over priced. However, floor staff were extremely helpful and professional. I would go back just because of their service - not the food. Which, in itself, would be silly.

Great view, always a table free and friendly staff. The food is good quality and a reasonable price. The breakfast menu has plenty of options. The staff however need to hand out the 1 hour extra free parking tickets and not say “just push the call button when paying” as the centre management was not happy.

Your front of house staff are bone idle lazy and are costing you money. It was a quiet service and I curiously watched my pint sit on the bar for about 20 minutes, while 3 - 4 staff had a nice gossip at the front counter, about 5 metres away. Only reason it eventually came out (after the food arrived and already half flat) was because I pointed it out. Food is nice enough but would want to be for the price, staff seem pleasant but quite useless.

Service is ok, ordered butter chicken, chicken was dry, sent it back. Tried chicken souvlaki and that chicken was dry too.
Not dazzled, would not go out of my way to go back.

Beautiful view overlooking eastern side from Eastland. There is an outdoor setting, but it was cold and dark, so we dined indoor. It's a modern contemporary setting with open ducts in the ceiling and a bar in a corner. The food was good, particularly carbonara. Quantity is just right. Prices bit on higher side.

Nice pizzas and pasta, good place to have a late evening meal when catching up with friends. Quick service, clean restaurant, only negative is there's one shared bathroom cubicle for the entire venue.

Completely ignored by staff to place order, even after eye contacts with 2 staffs, 1 of them seemed like the manager. After sitting there waving madly like an idiot decided to just walk out.

We have been here several times and the food is really tasty, great variety and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. But the stand out at this restaurant has to be the staff lead by a manager who has clearly trained them all well and created an excellent service culture. We are really pleased to say we will be back! Thank you.

I’ve been to other groove trains around Melbourne and had great food, but my meal at Eastland was disappointing. Ordered the steak sandwich which was very bland and had the thinnest slice of steak I’ve ever seen. Felt a bit ripped off to be honest. I won’t be coming back.

Terrible food and terrible experience. Staff were very unfriendly. I believe my waiteress' name was Jess (short caucasian brunette) seemed very aggressive when "helping" me but I thought it was just standard bad day in the hospitality industry so I let it slide until I left the restaurant and heard her insulting me to another worker! Don't know what's wrong with your life but no need to take it out on customers. Parma was not worth the price paid and the wait, came out with a small serving and burnt chicken. Don't go here go to the Knox groove train instead, much better staff, Eastland managers need to fix up their staff before I even consider going here again.

I've had to edit my first review as I've been here 6 times in total since opening, the first time was fantastic, and each time I have visited something has been wrong with the food.

There are a few members of staff whom are pleasant and very friendly, some of the female staff are very friendly and polite. There is an older guy whom takes people to be seated with menu's, his service is exceptional.

Unfortunately the food is not upto par, the first time I ordered a pasta dish and that was amazing. I went in a week later an ordered the same to see if the consistency was there, it wasn't the same, the quality in how it was presented and taste was really different to the first time.

Thought maybe the food was rushed as they were busy on the 2nd visit.

The calarmi was overcooked and very tough, I brought that to a staff members attention, she was lovely and apologized, but still had to pay full price for an uneaten dish.

It just got worse with each visit. The 6th visit is the last time.

I will not be coming back here, it's a shame that the food cannot remain constant as the dining is really nice
