The Groove Train Eastland reviews
60We went to this groove train without a booking we were ask to wait for a couple minutes for a table which we were happy to do, however 2 minutes later a couple walked in also without a booking and was seated immediately at the back and then served meanwhile we were still left waiting. Very poor service.
Shocking encounter with the manager of Groove Train. Really disappointed with the first (definitely the last) exprince with them.
The owner of the restaurant was EXTREMELY rude with us. He kicked us out because we had 2 small kids (very picky) eating food that wasn't from the restaurant. He told us adults (in a very rude tone may I add) that we weren't allowed in his restaurant. We were kicked out and had to eat leftovers from home. Promise you we will never set foot in that place again. Very angry!
Coming into the groove train on the 14/6 I felt invited by the foh staff but everyone seemed abit on edge, after ordering our food by the polite waitress it took them 45-1 hour for all our food to come out, the waitress apologised but we didn’t get a reason why it was taking so long, finally receiving our food it was clear to see why it had taken so long. All of our food was either missing parts of the meal or replaced with cheap alternatives. I ordered a double burger which had the brioche bun replaced with a Coles bun, a small handful of chips which where cold and burgers that were way over cooked. From one chef to another that’s the quality you are putting out, even if you had come out and told me sorry we don’t have some stuff however we were just told sorry. Come on chef you can do better
The Satay chicken dish was disappointing. The rice wasn’t jasmine rice, the snow peas were rotten and the dish looked pale and unappealing.there was not even satay sauce on the chicken, waste of money never going back
Out celebrating our son’s 18th birthday only to wait over 90 min for our food and STILL nothing coming our way out of the kitchen! Lovely waitress but even she could not get our order to the table. Not sure our lives are long enough to go back.
Excellent costumer service
Great food range and reasonable price
Love them steaks.
The only thing is they need to work on their seafood Colzone.
Far below expectations, however I still give them 4 stars.
Waited for over an hour and a half still no food, left the restaurant. Manager refused to look at us and check in
Booked a table online and seated in a booth.
Food was very good except for a beetroot garnish on the 3 savory dishes, which was not included in the item menu description. As 2 of the party were allergic to the beetroot garnish, the meals were sent back. When represented, the fried eggs on 1 of the orders needed to go back and be cooked on both sides, as per the original order.
There is one unisex/ambulant toilet.was clean and sufficient space for a wheelchair.
Despite the beetroot garnish, we will be back.
Booked days in advance, no table reserved, had to wait for a table to be cleaned, forgot a drink, entree was brought out with the mains and was not edible, multiple mistakes with the orders and food was average at best, and drinks are overpriced.
They didn't have any honey, and didn't tell us until after we had ordered. Our Autistic son loves his honey toast for breakfast. Given they are in Eastland which has two supermarkets, not impressed. The other meals were ok.
Will not come back. My daughter's pumpkin gnocchi all you could taste was cheese was awful. My spaghetti carbonara was literally floating in cream absolutely revolting sickening. The non alcoholic punch was lovely but that's it. Over priced and very poor quality.
If you want to eat pizza its better to go to gradi (in eastland as well). The bottom was burnt and not very good. Service was OK! Interior design cute!
Shocking service. They forgot our order and getting the attention of the staff was much harder than necessary. Food took over an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive despite asking staff check on it and wasn't worth the wait.
No apology or form of compensation was offered for this service, so definitely will never be returning. Received much better service and food at other Groove Trains. In regards to Eastlands, I don't recommend.
Had the $25 Special Scotch Fillet & Larger Deal on Wednesday 27th November for a change as i usually go for their fish dishes and my partner went for the Calamari dish which I enjoy there too. I had Scotch Fillet steak at home which we could have had that night but decided to go out instead and we were glad we did.
I was expecting a small piece but was presented with what seemed a double scotch on top of chips and a plentiful supply of salads and cucumber with some special dressing. I asked for medium and it came out beautifully cooked and succulent and not sure what the chef uses but i'd like them to cook for me at home because I absolutely enjoyed that Scotch fillet.
We started visiting several months ago just after they opened and have been increasingly visiting more often, it getting busier and i find some of the previous comments bizarre because the manager and staff are always pleasant and attentive. The staff are like attentive meerkats always on the lookout for customer needs taking order quickly, asking if we would like drinks etc very attentive well dressed in black. Well Done
We tried to get into that American bar restaurant next door some time ago but were rejected claiming it was booked out when it did not look like it so never bothered to try that one again. We sometimes go to Pancake Parlour and previously Hunky Dory in the plaza area. There are plenty of choices at Eastland & North & East Ringwood to serve every need. Lets face it where can you go out and not need to worry about parking officers wanting to tax diners for daring to go out to a main street restaurant? Anyway highly recommend diners at least try Groove Train Eastland.
Absolutely shocking encounter with the manager of Groove Train in Eastland. After my partner and I waited nearly 50 minutes for our food (which we didn't have time to eat since this made us late for our cinema booking – whatever, mistakes happen), we thought it’d be reasonable to ask for some takeaway containers and a small discount for the poor service. Following an extremely unpleasant conversation with the rude, unapologetic manager, I stated that good customer service is a pretty standard expectation for any restaurant, to which he replied “not at my restaurant”. I then asked the manager whether he cared about customer service at all, to which he replied “no, I don’t”. Finally, I asked whether he cared if customers came back, and he replied “no, please don’t come back”.
Utterly stunned by this manager’s toxic attitude, lack of empathy and failure to take any responsibility. To anyone considering this place, do yourselves a favour and go to one of the other restaurants in the area.
Here for breakfast. Average food, average staff, ok coffee. Below par groove train. Better choices in eastland.
Shocking service and shocking food. Mains took much too long to come and ruined date night. Won't be returning.
Very generous servings at reasonable prices. Our meals and drinks came quickly. The restaurant has a nice convenient position, close to the cinema and parking. It is a bright, open space. Our party of 11 were all happy with the restaurant.
I had the pulled beef cheek and mushroom risotto, hubby had the mixed grill also had a bowl of wedges. Everything was absolutely delicious! Customer service was on point.we'll definitely be back again.
Thanks guys.
