The Groove Train Casey

The food is still hit and miss here. Warning to parents! The high chairs are not safe here. The tray has been detached and the safety straps missing. It was also dirty and we had to clean it.

OLD review: Really like the food here but it can't be a bit hit and miss. Eg the risotto we often order came with a whole raw clove of garlic in it on our recent visit. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's worth sending the food back.

Definitely 5 stars. Amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Service and staff are great. Beer icy cold. Had the chili eggs, meat platter, sweet potato chips, meatballs (over several visits) each just as amazing as the other.

Have come here many times and it's a mainstay for great food and a great atmosphere. Staff are always very friendly and the food is prompt and always tastes great.

The best Salmon meal I've ever had! Moved here a couple of months ago and finding some wicked eateries. This place is definitely one I'd recommend. The service was quick and swift and the food was fresh off the press. If you love salmon like me you'll appreciate how beautifully the skin was crisped. Beautiful aroma and flavours. Thank you

I ordered the steak meal which came out with a fatty piece of meat and over cooked small burnt potatoes covered in too much rosemary.
About halfway through the meal the waitress came over to ask if we were enjoying our food (as they do). I was honest about it and she apologised and asked if I’d like a new steak so I said yes. She took my plate away and about 5 minutes later the manager came over with the plate and said I had eaten too much of it already so they wouldn’t replace it. By this time my meal had been passed around the restaurant by the waitress, chef and manager before coming back to me and it was also cold.
Please don’t have your wait staff offer a replacement meal then refuse it. I would have just finished what I had. But not after my meal had done a lap of the restaurant, so I was no longer interested and left the place still feeling hungry. The meal was way overpriced too for what it was and due to this awful service I won’t be back.

Very busy restaurant that serves tasty meals. Staff are very friendly. I love going to the Groove Train.

Would have loved to be able to give them a higher review however was unable to taste their food. No the food wasn’t bland, they closed an hour early:)
Arrived at 8.09pm on a Saturday, hoping for a feed but the restaurant had their “Closed” sign displayed. There were still patrons inside and dining outside so we asked the staff (who were outside clearing table) and we were notified that the kitchen was already closed. No explanation but a half hearted apology. I understand kitchens close before the restaurant do but almost a whole hour before closing is not ideal. Although, I guess Groove Train is for the elderly so I shouldn’t have expected dinner service past 7pm?

Not good here anymore, use to come here very often and now the food has gone downhill. Got the crumbs at the bottom of the bag for nachos, pizza tasteless and calamari chewy. Disappointing because the food use to be great here. Not sure what’s happened

Amazing experience, staff were so kind, we only had an hour to eat so he put a rush on our meals for us. It came out so quick and was delicious! Looking forward to coming back!

I've passed the Groove Train a few times and it was always busy and you know.if an establishment is busy the food must good!

The atmosphere inside was buzzing, so I decided to drop in for a or two and found myself ordering the pumpkin soup lunch special which was delicious except for the x2 pieces of bread which was oily and bland

The service was impeccable at the beginning, but lapsed in the end as it seemed like the original welcoming staff had gone to lunch, which forced me to give as I waited for a while for another

the tables and floors were clean and clean up after meals was punctual

No photos again. I really shouldn't taste the food until I take a foto by the time I realised, the food was gone and so was my empty bowl thanks to the prompt service

This restaurant has lovely and hot food presented and the waiting time is not bad either. Staff are efficient and polite plus the place is clean and well maintained. There's definitely a great range of hot food including a large variety of pizzas plus drinks served. Can't complain about the pricing either as the food is value for money. Definitely recommended and all in all will definitely be back here.

They only welcome white skined customers.

Beware! You can't see what happens in the kitchen.

The food was nice, the portions are big and the service was quick. A bit too pricey, and noisy. Of course you know what you're getting yourself into when you go to a place like this

Dining customers expect more than just food.

Food was nice, served in good time, a single incorrect order was fixed quickly.

However we were rushed by our server throughout the entire sitting, to the point that it overshadowed the quality of the food.

I've worked in service/hospitality for long enough to know that sort of attitude comes from the top down - manager watching the clock, especially on what is expected to be an off-peak night, they already have our money so client/customer experience is neglected in preference to a quick exit home. And so the staff learn to do likewise.

Ours was a larger booking of two families, so they made some money from us on this occasion. The extra takings from our booking would have more than covered 15 minutes overtime for the minimal staff that would have been required to look after us had we chosen to enjoy our meals in a timely manner. Which may not have even been necessary, but the mood was ruined to the point that we had no desire to stay.

Appalling. I will not return.

Love how easy it is to book a table online. Booked dinner for 6. The place is bigger than what you expect especially when looking from outside. Staff are very friendly & welcoming! The food is average probably abit more expensive than what it's worth but a nice eatery nonetheless. Will be back to try the breakfast menu!

It's OK. My pizza was doughy on top like a little raw. I couldn't eat it all. I've never had a great meal here but good for a catch up with friends and a wine or coffee.

I hope are lucky enough to get Jackson as your waiter.
He is friendly, happy and very conscientious.
