The Grand Tofu reviews
71Loved this place. Awesome friendly service. Food delivered to table quickly. Loved the Yong Tofu with Curry base and egg noodles and Gado Gado. Even the Teh Tarik was great. Highly recommended
Great experience specially during a busy day (26 Dec). We did not wait too long to get inside, place very busy and a little bit noisy but forms part of the food experience. Nice waiter, did not wait long to get our food, the dishes came hot and really delicious. Special highlight for the chilli (lovely). A large number of dishes, Value for money! Definitely recommend
The curry soup was great, comparable with what I had in Sydney (Penang Cuisine). I don't like the fish paste as much as others that I tried in Melbourne. But the service was great
Lovely Tom Yam soup with seafood! Has been there 5-6 times already just for the soup! The customer service is always nice as well. Everyone smiles a lot!
Not recommend this restaurant to anyone, they have very bad service and the staff don't know what's mean customer service.
They want to pay them $0.20 for a takeaway chopstick and a plastic spoon to eat your dish or use that dirty plastic chopstick that all customers use before.
Looking for good Chinese crusine in Glen Waverley, Melbourne? I was presently surprised to stumble upon The Grand Tofu, an eatery which offers many delicious authentic food. You can get a big bowl of Young Tofu which consist pieces of tofu or vegetable stuffed with fish or meat paste served in a soup. You can choose your choice of soup base. We ordered a bowl each with Tom Yam and curry soup base. I would highly recommend their piping wok hey Char Kuey Teow (fried flat rice noodle served with prawns, chives, bean spourts and fish cake in a mixed black soy sauce). It's very nice and tasty. I went back to this place the 2nd time for their fried Char Kwey Teow and ordered the stirred beef white Kuey Teow.
Laksa has consistently been amazing! Delicious large servings and super tasty broth. Friendly and efficient service. I would recommend this place over the Glen Laksa King, which I find quite salty.
Absolutely satisfying curry soup yong tau foo. We always say we want to try some of the other dishes at The Grand Tofu. Alas, we never fail to get the yong tau foo first. The portion size has always been generous - you can mix the noodles if you wish and the set bowl comes with a choice of 6 pieces of YTF. The broth is extremely flavourful, balanced and taste, on point. They thrown in some fresh taugeh (beans sprouts) and accompaniment of greens and walah, you have a balanced meal!
So if you haven't been to this place or if you have and just cannot decide on what to get for the day, default recommendation is the YTF!
Their curry soup Yong Tofu is probably one of the best I’ve had in a while. Their braised beef noodle is pretty tasty too. Will probably drop by more often to try some of the other bits on the menu like the kampung fried rice, hor fun, lomie, and pork chop on rice!
Another price hike. Used to be decent but since new owner took over food quality has gone downhill, prices gone uphill. Definitely better Malaysian restaurants out there for the same price.
Staff are extremely helpful, quick and polite. Meals are always top quality. Everything that is served. Tastes amazing. You will definately go back, time and time again.
Love the yong tofu here where you can pick 6 toppings and choice of broth. The char Kuey teow is flavoursome with some pork fat pieces. Crispy noodles are okay - slightly overdrenched with sauce making it more wet than crispy for the noodles. The Tek Tarik is good.
Excellent restaurant, one of my all time favourites in Glen Waverley. Great food, fast service and excellent customer service. Will definitely be back!
Great value with great taste food. Paid under $40 for the whole lot. I can’t believe the $12.80 sweet and sour pork which came in 2 big sized containers. We’ll definitely order from them again.
Always enjoy the dishes. Portion is generous and price is reasonable. But the noodles for curry Yong tau Fu is a bit too salty and the char siew served for dry noodles doesn't taste fresh.
Today the order was taken wrongly as their phone was extremely noisy and each order was repeated 3 times. The bbq pork dry egg noodle standard has also dropped as it is drier than usual.
Is it a perfect weather to have this? Yes! Alwayss
Always love soup noodles whenever it is!

This Laksa place is very interesting because you can choose whatever you want in it!?
As what you can see, the basic soup is not too thick but not watery as well which is everyone’s favorite I guess? Love that I can choose anything that I want!
The place itself is always full of people and they’re actually an authentic Malaysian Restaurant. So, they also got all type of Malaysian Food! But this one is their famous one! And it’s worth the hype!

Great food. Quick service and consistently tasty food as always. You don't have to pay exorbitant prices for overspent non-edible things that don't matter like they have fancy restaurants, but the food more often than not is embarrassingly trash.
The place is quite popular and you should expect some delay as a result. We find that the soup is a bit too salty for us. There's a wide variety of tofu and soup to choose from - quite Malaysian in flavour.
I had the prawn noodle. The broth was nice and very prawny. The ingredients were generous (see photo). I received my dish very fast. They make their har mee with only yellow noodles: (luckily the nice waiter gave me white noodles on the side:)
Their curry soup based Tofu is really nice. Friendly staff and fast service. You can pick your own ingredients for the soup from a large variety. Reasonable prices and most meals sitting around $13-15. Generous portions. Would visit again.
