The Grand Hotel Warrandyte reviews
73Ok suburban pub. Nothing special from the food perspective. Friendly enough staff but eager to clear your plates as you take your last bite. Not the pubs fault, but forget parking in Warrandyte coz there are so few.
Spacious. Very good pub meals. Good country feel. Great for drinks in the new beer garden out front.
Slight issue with ordering from the regular menu and kiosk menu, food arrives at different times, spoilt the meal for everyone.
Non existent customer service, their open table booking reservations are a joke, try and call to speak to them and you’ll get referred to email. Patrons of this pub must be happy to settle for mediocre service.
Went for an easy Sunday lunch on the way home when passing through Warrandyte. Service was a bit odd (different counters for food and drinks, carry your own cutlery but food is brought out to you), and parma was a bit overpriced for the size. Biggest issue was the outdoor live music was extremely loud, great to have but it was too loud to have a conversation so ended up eating in silence then leaving, understandable for a club but not for a pub on a Sunday afternoon.
Great pub with a really nice atmosphere. Menu is great and even has some good vegetarian options.
The staff are very friendly. I had the grilled chicken burger and it was delicious. The only disappointment I had they do not do coffee.
Great food and atmosphere but service is literally all over shop, have to order and pay for food and drink separately, collect your pizza separately.
Best Palma ever! And the steak was cooked M/R to perfection!
Staff were friendly too
Ordering was a little clunky……. Order food this side and drinks the other….: . Well worth a visit tho and all set in a beautiful country town where u can walk ur lunch off along the river.
It was aight! Staff were great!
was looking for a nice light option for dinner so opted to get the caesar salad, goodness did they jam pack that bad boy with cheese.so i guess if you like cheese pop the caesar salad, too heavy for me however.
Been here before and has been great, although you do have to remember to get your own cutlery and own salt and pepper if you want it also get your drinks over at the bar area.
Not quite sure what happened today, ordered some sharing plates for starters, which turned up after the our mains, liver pate had to be returned as was definitely not 'quite right'.
I had the calamari and it didn't come with the aioli which it clearly states on the menu, when I went to the kitchen area to ask for it, I was told I would have to go to the bar and order it for another $2. Really. I had this meal last time I was there and this was not the case.
Not sure if they have new waiting staff, but we daren't put our knife and fork down for fear our plates would be removed, I had only eaten a quarter of my meal, put my cutlery down for a pause and they were taking my plate away, This happened multiple times to my companions as well. I can honestly say our table was approached three times within five minutes to remove our 'sharing plates' which we were clearly still eating, it became quite annoying in the end.
On top of that, they don't do coffee, a restaurant that doesn't do coffee, very strange.
In saying all that, as long as the waiting staff 'calm their farm' and realise that patrons would to eat in a relaxed manner and not chuck their food down their throats in fear of their plate being taken away, love the pub area and outside area.
I know there are Covid restrictions but having to remove our own dishes off our table after we had our meals was unacceptable especially when I asked to if they could remove them and waited for over an hour for this to be done so I did it myself. Terrible service all round!
Venue says that they don’t have bookings between 2: 30-5: 30pm - yet when I arrived at 3: 30pm, they said they did not have a free table as they were waiting for “a booking of 8 people to arrive”. I said “oh I thought you didn’t do bookings, otherwise I would’ve made one”. The staff did not have a clear answer. Feel like there’s different rules for some people vs others. Weird arvo menu. Drink good:)
Hoping another pub opens in the area, as clearly there’s a massive local demand, loads of people were heading to the pub!
Great new areas for having a drink and catching up with friends, but very limited menu. Not many gluten free options, and expensive for what is on offer.
Loud, cold and with desultory and absent minded service. Porterhouse was thin, fatty and most definitely not medium rare. Calimari had obviously had a previous date with a freezer. Not impressed as it used to be great.
Lovely old pub with helpful staff. We attended a wake & the staff were so considerate with all attendees.
Good food and good selection of beers. No table service however. Very old school pub from that perspective. Order at the bar and grab your own cutlery and drinks. Food portions are huge and good value for money, as well as good quality. Burgers are great. Slightly dated in the bistro side but new open outdoor area is good.
Great setting, friendly staff and delicious meals at fair prices. Very enjoyable place to go and mingle
Did they lose our meal order.waiting for almost an hour outside in cold due to 'reserved' yet empty tables inside.poor customer service.
Amazing pub! Food is delicious and generously sized, pictured is the eggplant parmigiana. Received meals within 10mins of ordering. Staff are friendly and the venue takes covid safe practices seriously.
