The Gasometer Hotel reviews
66 Had a great time at the free comedy night on Tuesday. It was only the 3rd show but thoroughly enjoyed and the host was great, even buying people rounds of drinks.
The comedians were funny and it was a night of laughs. Also loved how the roof opened up, great for a hot summers day to sit down and have a beer with mates.
Bar tenders and security at this joint are rockstars! No matter the gig there super chill even with your most trash baggy mates, show respect. Love this place
Through pure happenstance we were drawn into the bar on a Tuesday night with the promise of free comedy. We were not disappointed. The venue was fantastic and the comedy was great The comedy club element may be in its infancy, but it has great promise and is backed by a bunch of passionate and enthusiastic comedians that are looking to create laughter and bring joy. The host was fantastic and engaged well with the entire audience. He was personable and fun, even going so far as to shout a few rounds. A night well spent!
Fantastic staff, super friendly and always taking care of everyone. Kickass venue for seeing bands. Great selection of drinks (including booze free options)
5 out 5 would go again

The team here is great. Excellent vibes, welcoming of everyone. Great pub & bringing punk rock back to the neighbourhood
Great to be back, only downside is the acoustics when everyone is talking and not listening to the music!
The gaso is the new home to live punk rock.
2 stages, smoking area, many nooks and crannies to explore in this origional corner pub.
The interior is all old wood, kept in beautiful condition. Nothing fake about this place!
Great place for live music. Good variety of beers on tap. Has large podium downstairs and a smaller one upstairs.
Fine live music venue with a fair price list for the booze. Would recommend a Sunday night/late arvo session. Only downside is some shifty furniture and very dirty bathrooms, otherwise a sweet venue.
Gasos is one of the only live music pubs in Melbourne where you can rock out under an open sky. The band room has a huge retractable roof and a wrap-around mezzanine that looks over the stage. The bistro and bar do a mean happy hour—$6 pints for 3 hours.
Such a groovy spot. The roof opening up and the disco ball with the killer dj’s is always fab for a night/day out
Has craft beers on tap but they don't have Carlton draught on tap or any CUB products. Shame as a lot of my friends and I don't drink any craft beers. Not going back.
What a great little pub. The band room is not as big as I imagined, but the upstairs space certainly makes up for it. They had a gourmet BBQ on the day we were there, roof open and awesome beer garden feel. The beer was good, the staff friendly. Can't go wrong really.
First time out of lockdown checked out this pub awesome service the staff there were great im definitely coming back to this place
Great turn around from a pub to a fab wine retailer. Get there if you want boutique Italian wines instead of the mass marketed wines from the big liquor supermarkets. You won't be wronged.
Went to see some live music upstairs and it was an awesome little venue. Not the biggest space but really really good vibe when it's an up and coming band with their amazing fans.
Went see a Canberra band Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers play and it was sweet. Gender neutral bathrooms were also a good idea.
Down stairs bar area look pretty cool too.
Good food and drink for a decent price. Awesome band room with great atmosphere, feels a little like a gladiators arena.
Great venue, friendly security, good variety of drinks (fancy gin!) and really, I was only there for the music. Best band room going round
The kind of place you guy and have high expectations but Everytime it just doesn't quite meet them! Maybe it's my own fault for pumping it up. Or maybe it's something else. I'll keep going on an irregular basis. Maybe my things might change.
This pub is a nice place to go for an afternoon beer. They serve many different alcoholic beverages to suit even the most fastidious booze enthusiast. Sit back with a few friends, some good conversation, a tasty beverage, and enjoy the fine hospitality that the Gasometer has to offer.
