The Gamekeepers Secret Country Inn & Restaurant

The place has changed hands and has not improved. The food was mediocre. This restaurant has so much potential, and can be changed around for the better. It looks a fabulous place, in the old style English pub. The food menu just needs updating. More salad options should be put on, like a Ploughman's Lunch. Get rid of the stodgy massive Sliced cakes on view, and make smaller presentations. Maybe even do High Tea, with little sandwiches and Petit Fours. It's a shame to see it half empty during the weekdays.
I would love for this place to be successful, as it has always reminded me of home in England, but something needs to change.

Second time coming here and no fillet mignon available even though its on the menu. How about order more or take it off the menu all together if its such a hassle

If your after some old English pub experience with a lovely warm atmosphere on a rainy night, enjoying a drink with delicious hot cheesy cobb loaf, and good laugh with friends and family this is the place to be.

Drove over an hour to have dinner at this place, it was definitely worth it. Awesome food, awesome music and awesome vibes. Great job guys

Hadn’t been here for many years until a few weeks ago when I heard about the awesome value special on Wednesdays $30.00,3 courses and a drink meals are very good nice and hot good size and it looks like I’ll be here three weeks in a row and every Wednesday so now you know where to find me on a Wednesday night ‍️️

Went on a Saturday for lunch, and was very quiet apart from our group. Love their traditional beef Guinness pie, although a bit pricey. Good selection of drinks and mostly reasonably priced. Excellent service. Lovely old world charm and atmosphere. Looking forward to going back during the week for their mid week special menu.

Great menu on Wednesday night. 3 courses and a drink for $30. Can't go wrong really. Food was delicious and hot. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

The steak was cooked great. And tastey. Pepper sauce was fantastic. Service was pretty good. Easy 4 star. Well worth it. Will definitely be back.

We celebrated my 50th and the venue was perfect for my friends and family catering to all ages.

Positive comments all around for the delicious menu and a big thumbs up for serving our meals of 20 or so, all at the same time. The staff were very attentive in general with drinks service as well as anything else required.

Entertainment was inclusive as there were 4 birthdays that night, and she teed up with whenever they brought out a cake to name the person & get everyone to sing happy birthday as she played the keys. My crowd also enjoyed giving her requests.

In much need of a non smoking outdoor area, where you can sit back and enjoy drinks and snacks in a non smoking environment.locals would use it more, not everyone wants a sit down meal.inside in good weather

It is definitely old English, and it felt just old, food was nice but staff seem disinterested, external view would have made a difference I think. Overall I would go back but not rushing to do so

The atmosphere, decor, live entertainment, and staff are all great. The food was very bland and tasteless. The lamb shanks melt off the bone like they should but very bland. The calamari and chips had zero flavour and weren't browned at all during the cooking process. If the food was improved I'd give this place 5 stars, so much potential but let down by bland food.

Quoted one price over the phone when booking for father's Day. Charged double on the day. No pricing at all displayed in the restaurant.
