Lovely food and staff. Very quiet so anyone reading this please head out there and help them build up the business again.

Must mention Cobb loaf,

Ordered the chicken & mushroom risotto & it was like eating a bowl of salt. It was horrible. The prawn risotto was the same with also too much sodium & too much tang (tomatoes in the sauce). They were both inedible.
We won’t be going back there.
If I could give zero stars for the food I would.
The service was the only good thing

I've been here 2 times all up and the first time was 3 or 4 years ago and nothing has changed cleanliness wise. I thought to give it another try but I won't be going back. If the venue is full of dust and cobwebs I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I sat at a table and there's no cushioning remaining in the chairs, so it's like sitting on a timber frame. The food was good, except for the watery veggies. Please clean up the venue. I think Chef Ramsay needs to visit to update the interior! Sorry to leave this review but its necessary.

Dissapointing.
Travelled 45 minutes with excitement of an old fashion English style pub and left disappointed.
The only saving grace was the cob loaf and steak.
We arrived at 5.30pm and was 1 of 3 tables.
No table water offered.
Ordered cob loaf which was great. Big portion for the price.
But. 10 minutes in and only a quarter of the way through it, mains had arrived.
No asking if we are ready for mains, or if everything was ok. So we felt very rushed.
Steak for my partner and Guinness pie for me.
Steak was good
Pie, not so much, lumpy mash and watery veg.
But, the second I put my fork down, the waitress collected our plates as if we are being rushed out of there.
Again, no one came to ask if the food was okay.
No offer of desert menu, limited selection of drinks (no guest ales?)
In and out in 50 minutes and $100 down.
It was not worth getting dressed up for a Date night and taking a trip out, we don't get many chances to go out and this was a waste of time.

I had the Guinness pie, which was nice. Mash potatoes were lumpy and vegetables were dry. The hosts had little personality with their presence rarely felt. Some attendants behind the bar were the opposite of warm. Somehow I was under the impression that they would be. We were told of a fireplace, although it could not be seen where we were placed. To add insult to injury, the remnants of the cake I supplied for Mums birthday disappeared. The staff could not tell me what happened to it.

No complaints here, food was lovely and large servings, staff were very pleasant and informative, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will return

Well what can I say if you are looking for a lovely place to eat this is one place you need to go to have meals they are great sizes and very tasty and soft meat melts in your mouth I have been coming here for a while and it has never let me down a big thanks to Jimmy Yvette and Mark the fantastic chef

Showing its age both inside and out, but it was a great meal and staff were friendly and relaxed.
Not too busy when I was there on a Thursday for steak night.
Update: $30 Wednesday night three course meals are definitely worth it.

The Morton Bay bug was $12.00 for 2 small pieces. The waiter explained it was as large as my hand. I got ripped off, I feel. Steak Porterhouse wasn't bad. Over cooked for medium. Plates were full of chips. Wine list was good. Not over priced. Liked the Schild Merlot. Nice drop. Over 5/10

I just telephoned Games Keeper Inn and requested a booth table for 2 people at 5pm. I know what I was going to order. It was 2 x Seafood platters & 1 x Cob Loaf + drinks and dessert. I asked this woman if I could have a corner table maybe the booth as it was at 5pm. This woman kept saying it all depends if we have a table. Seriously who comes for dinner at 5pm? ! (Other than I). A seafood platter is almost $50. Because of her poor customer service skills games keeper has lost my business which could have been $150+

Went for lunch for my birthday. Meals were delivered quickly. Plenty of food on the plate and was delicious. Place needs a little bit of a refresh but still enjoyable chilled afternoon

Great little place was there for a surprise 90th birthday food and atmosphere was great a bit pricey but worth it

Dry chicken and even drier management, will never be back here. Been in The past and whoever is in charge is horrible.

Had a delicious lunch here today. Lamb
shanks were beautifully cooked.so tender. We were a group of 50 and the staff were very welcoming, the meals were hot, well presented and delicious. Would recommend highly.

My experience on my first time at Gamekeepers was absolutely fantastic brilliant pub, Restaurant awsome food fantastic clean place, workers very polite and responsible definitely will go again and I do recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic night TOP stuff

My partner and I have been to this establishment about 4 times now, and every time we go the food is so delicious. We love the menu they provide, the ambience of a old style pub, the service is always timely, efficient and friendly and the prices very reasonable. I have to say also that they make the best calamari I've ever had anywhere! Our go to place when we get away from our kids for a couple of hours!

First time here, great food, friendly service British atmosphere, nice and local, food came out real quick. Feels like being in the Uk without the expense of an airfare.

I kept driving past this as I have only been on this side of town for a short time. Being of English stock, I was looking forward to the traditional pub experience. It did not disappoint.
I’ve been there 3 times now, once for a 50th - catering and staff were fab. Second time for a casual spur of the moment dinner with my partner - the food was sensational. I had the filet mignon which rivaled any steak I have had in the world. And my partner a delicious seafood platter. Generous portions of tasty well cooked food. Entertainment outstanding.
So we decided to book a table of 20 for my birthday, well it was fantastic. How often in a large group does the food come out at the same time? It did that night. Everyone enjoyed their meals and their evening. The owners and their team are a delight. I think we will become regulars! Highly recommend
