The Dojo Ramen Bar reviews
73Refreshingly tasty vegetarian Ramen. Delicious in restaurant or delivered. It is packed like the photo below with solid ingredients and broth separate when ordering in. No spills.
Never understood the craze for Ramen, and then I ate at The Dojo Ramen Bar.
The Edamame is moreish and an awesome snack, especially with the bits of fried garlic.
You must try the Japanese Fried Chicken - Best Karaage I've ever had.
I got the TAN TAN MEN.
"The Dojo's karate kick spicy ramen! Sesame paste chilli bean tare topped with spicy ground pork, spring onions and bok choy"
Honestly to die for. Comfort food at its best, but so delicious and so full of yummy flavours.
Great size portions, very well priced. Their cocktails go down nice with dinner, I recommend the Sake Mule.
They also have a nice selection of high quality Japanese whiskeys at a fairly reasonable price.
Overall highly recommended, I will be going there again!
Vegan options! And not even just one, but multiple. Some of the best ramen I've had, great location and a good setting - definitely one of my favourites.
Tan tan Men was very tasty. Great thicker style chewy noodles, creamy rich soup with a bit of spice but not much. All ramens good value but just wish the gyoza wasn't so exxy.
Even though we came on fried chicken and beer night during their busiest period, they still found us a table and delivered delicious bowls of hot ramen quick smart. We were sat outdoors, but there was plenty of heating and space.
The place has really disappointed this time.quality of food are decreased so badly that we have got raw chicken for our JFC and the ramen was so salty tasted like left over.wasted money
One of the best ramen I have had in Melbourne. Amazing Japanese fried chicken and a great selection of whiskeys. Great service, amazing food, great little restaurant. Will be back
I can't comment on the rest of the food, other than the intensely delicious edamame, spicy veggie ramen and great service, because I don't get anything else other than that! It's so good, why do I need to change? !
I got the vege ramen, it was pretty weird so I couldn't finish it. Not sure if they had someone in training or they put something wrong in there. Worst thing was it looks like the owner has a temper and isn't nice to the waitresses. My friend also got a vege dish that was pretty bland. No free-range meat products.
Definitely the worst ramen I've ever had. Not going back for sure. The noodles were okay but the soup was basically toilet water.
Spicey miso ramen here is horrendous. I don’t mind the tan tan men though. It’s a nice shop with some ok foods and drinks, just think the ramen is a tad salty.
I got the veggie miso ramen (vegan noodles) to takeaway this evening - it was SO DAMN GOOD. Perfect balance of salty and creamy. Shoutout to the lovely lady who served me. I’ll be back soon for sure:)
Spicy creamy tan tan men ramen x2 was very delicious and robust spice level. The rich creamy broth and soft boiled half egg was a pleasure to eat. I love the pork mince type ramens. We complented with gyoza and JFC chicken and a smooth asahi black. $60 all up Would recommend any time you have a craving for ramen. When you have a craving for ramen, you just have to haven a ramen.
We eat here quite often and Paris is always looking after us.
She has a great personality and always greets with a welcome smile!
She is a great waitress and looks after all who walk through the door.
Paris is a great asset to the team and should be commended!
Delicious ramen, it was so tasty and quick. The sake cocktails were also really good. The staff were lovely and organised, and they did a split bill for us. Will definitely be going back to try a different ramen.
Excellent Ramen - possibly the very best I've had in Australia. Seems to be very authentic style with an interesting and delicious range of flavours I hadn't tried in other Ramen shops before. The restaurant has great atmosphere and is a nice place to eat and have some Japanese beers with friends. Just wish it was open on weekdays for lunch too!
The best ramen on this side of the river! Great decor including Japanese culture staples like a Nintendo Famicom as well as manga comics. My go-to order is a tall glass of Orion lager on tap to go with the Tan Tan Men ramen with extra egg and a side of JFC chicken.
The food and the staff there is terrific good, our plates were really good, tasty, juice and deep Japanese flavours, but the most delicious one was black sesame ice cream, definitely must have it
Super chill vibes and great eats as well as a cute range of Japanese drinks. Defs recommend for a quick bite!
Decent selection of ramen. Several vegetarian options for those so inclined. The few dishes I've tried have all been fantastic.
Plenty of beer options as well. I enjoyed a Japanese craft beer, something I haven't had before, which was very nice.
The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxing.
I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. It's perfect for some food and drink before a show at the Northcote Social Club.
