The Convent, Daylesford reviews
69Fantastic cafe with excellent food and coffee. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, all set in a beautiful location.
Great sight. Warmhearted staff introducing us the history of this building. Worth visiting. Many nice restaurants around this area.
I love visiting this quaint and quirky place. The gardens, little nooks and crannies are all so splendid. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Sweet corn fritters, pumpkin tart and mushroom croquettes, all vegetarian options were yummm. My friend enjoyed the pear and frangipani tart which wasn't too sweet and I loved the fluffy scones with jam and cream.
Interesting art, views of the gardens and we picked up some goodies from the gift shop too. A must visit when in Daylesford.
The most friendly staff ive ever met and had the pleasure of meeting work there.the gallery is beautiful and the high tea we had was delicious.
The food is consistently good, the service friendly and professional. The garden is magnificent any time of year.
Great bar, Great stories from the staff, they have a malt wine that the nuns used drink, awesome atmosphere and historic vibe, delicious food
A great day trip, we love coming up here and having brunch, the scones and the croquettes are amazing - then on to the gallery to browse the artwork, the staff are very accommodating and kind, definitely worth the trip!
A really interesting place to visit. You can learn about the history of the building and the nuns that lived there. The food is decent too.
Beautiful gardens, amazing old building and a huge variety of beautiful art peices. Nice way to spend an afternoon.
What more can I add. An institution in the region. Thank you Tina for your hospitality and generosity.
Great history.gorgeous grounds.great staff members that can try and send you to the dungeon.a must see if you're in the area
Amazing, thank you for a beautiful breakfast and the mulled wine. Josh Glenda and I had a great time. We will be back
Love this place, the beautiful food, the evocative ambient, the gorgeous garden, a place to cherish and celebrate
Absolutely love this place
Firstly they have a great Cafe and then the beautiful art gallery in the setting of an old historical convent
Tina the owner of the Convent has created a high-end establishment than one could say, is the most idyllic, unique and creative venue in Victoria. Tina is a charming and welcoming host and ensures all visitors are well looked after and continue to return for many years.
The Convent Gallery in Daylesford was a spectacular wedding venue for my husband Travis and I, particularly having had special significance of a long history with my parents who are local artists and my mother, Jacqueline Geraghty exhibiting her paintings here for many years.
Marija the Convent Events manager wears many hats and has many talents and went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was truly the best day of lives. The Conservatory was magnificent, the ceremony and reception were elegant and beautiful. We loved every moment. Their attention to detail, care and thoughtfulness made the occasion seamless and has created many beautiful memories for us. A perfect ending to a perfect day was retiring to the penthouse suite situated on the top floor of the Convent.
We would highly recommend this wedding venue to future couples looking for the picture-perfect place to celebrate their special day.
We popped in for a lunch one day in between lockdowns while we could. The staff were great the beer cold and wine tasty. The meals were hot fresh and tasty.
Worth the $5 entry to the gallery. Good coffee shop for when your finished. Very busy on weekends, maybe bookings required. Steep walk up to wombat gardens at the top of the hill
Sunny glazed cafe serving good quality food, an atrium space yet intimate. The convent an imposing building, rabbit Warren of smallish exhibition spaces showing average art. The owner manager is a delight.
Worth a visit for the art and history (and view from the tower) alone, but the cafe is excellent too - the high tea is amazing.
The food is delicious. The service was terrible. Went to eat with friends. 4/6 ppl received their food. I didn't receive mine, but I tried theirs, it was delicious. Mine never came despite waiting for 40 minutes and within that time, we were reassured by the waiter and waitress that the food was coming. The original waitress later came and told us that she forgot write our order down. Mistakes happen, I just don't like the fact they lied about our food coming out when it wasn't even getting prepared!
