The Convent, Daylesford reviews
69 This is definitely a hidden treasure, Tina, you have unearthed and restored a Gem,
If it wasn't for you this would have ended up in landfill.
Thank you for opening up to the public. Jim&Chris 18/11/23
A lovely spot to have some lunch and immerse yourself in some contemporary art and local history.
PERFECT WEDDING LOCATION! I seriously can't recommend this place enough!
Not only is it just stunning with ample places for photo opportunities but the staff are impeccable! The coordinators help you from the beginning in planning the day and are always happy to help along the way with changes and questions.
Marija and Tina (and All the other staff) are so friendly and loving it really contributed to making our day as special and stress free as it was.
The convent now holds a sentimental place in my heart.i smile just thinking about it.
Highly highly recommend!
Beautiful place. A must see if you are in Daylesford. Just 10$ to see the museum gallery. There are family packages too!
And has a pretty little cafe inside as well!
Came here for breakfast, lovely venue. We sat out on the balcony. Very overpriced. Breakfast came to 80 dollars just for 2 smashed avos and some drinks.
Beautiful place. Lovely gardens. The cafe has good food, nice ambience. Great to wander through the gallery and soak up the history as well. Tina is very welcoming.
Just a beautiful building and garden housing what is now a gallery. The Cafe was great too. Had a tasty lunch.
What an interesting place in a beautiful setting. An absolute must see when you are in Daylsford. If you are lucky you run into Tina the owner, or she runs into you, more likely to happen Make sure you enjoy the bad habit cafe on your way out. How could one resist this name.
Sitting in the beautiful garden with delicious hot chocolate and coffee. We were made to feel very welcome indeed.
Modern art well take it or leave it. I left it. Ten bucks for the Walk around the garden ok. Come in from the back entrance of the Botanical gardens skip the inside of the convent.
Great gallery and plenty of interesting information. Beautiful whimsical gardens and a great view from the balcony.
Highly recommended! Beautiful place, great food, best dirty chai ever! Awesome scones! And the best- excellent service by one and all! What a gem:) absolutely coming back!
Fantastic service and selection of food to choose from. Can enjoy the gardens and gallery after your meal
I had Nepalese Chicken Curry today at Bad Habits Cafe but had to leave most of it as it was totally tasteless with minimal chicken and a mound of thick clumps of rice. The Manager informed me that it was made LAST week by a relief chef and offered to not charge for my meal but I had already paid the bill for our table of 5 adults.
Wouldn’t recommend.
The art is not great and it has many religious items to be honest I found it quite creepy.
Beautiful, picturesque historical building and art gallery rolled into one. This was on our list for Daylesford sightseeing and it didn't disappoint. Many rooms to explore with diverse artists' work, ranging from paintings of local scenery to large abstract pieces. Gorgeous views from the balcony too. Well worth a visit, thank you!
Went as a family and paid $25 for the family ticket (2 adults and 3 kids), and it's worth the price. Building is magnificent, and there are beautiful paintings and furniture and rich history inside. You can also see the spectacular view from the balcony.
The most incredible experience today.
2 of us went for the high tea experience, and it was the best wed ever had!
The Convent has been restored to an impressive standard, and respects the history of the property, whilst still allowing for a stunning mix of old and new with the artworks.
The food was to die for, can honestly say I've never tasted anything like it.
But nothing can compare to the customer service. Off the charts. Really refreshing to see staff who seem to genuinely enjoy their job and make the effort to share their knowledge
Pretty place in a picturesque setting with an interesting museum of the historical aspect of the convent, and art gallery. Fascinating architecture and contents of the rooms. Funky cafe attached painted in bright colours, and the cakes looked great (but we only had coffee). However I think they are buying cheap coffee beans, maybe the robusta variety, because the taste wasn't good, I don't think it was the barista, but rather the bean quality.
