The Barking Dog reviews
58We had a great afternoon, the music and atmosphere were excellent, will certainly be returning.
Good food but slow service. No milk either which made ordering coffee (almond milk only) impossible.
Great for a pre-work coffee as well as a post-work beer! The breakfast menu is good and the food is great too! Friendly staff and a great atmosphere make this a superb place to visit. If you're just after a few cheeky drinks in the afternoon, you can just sit back and relax in the beer garden and watch the world go by on Pakington Street!
Great vibe, live music & a busy bar. Great space with a good feel. Will definitely be back.
Horrible service, Staff treated customers poorly, no care for the needs of those paying hard earned money, food was alright i guess
Cheers, Trav x
Food was great, standard pub food but generous servings and fresh. Servie was friendly and helpful in answering all our questions. Nice atmosphere.
Sunday arvo sessions starting approx 3 to 9 pm a good way to see new music talent doing 40 min sessions Plenty of varierty of music $3 pizza dinner plate size drinks the usual costs
$3 pizzas were much bigger and better than I would have expected for the price. Definitely a great place for a drink with some friends
Decent steak sandwich, huge parmas and crispy skin on the salmon. Pity about the service, with the many proclamations of, "Sorry, I'm new", and, "We've had such a super busy day".
Feral pub. Group of middle aged angry, agressive men are consistantly allowed to take over the pub atmosphere crowding around the bar. Not a comfortable bar. I would never choose to have a drink here
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Crowded on a Friday night, even with the rain. I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood.
Very well priced menu.parmas and vegies were more than generous so much so my sister and I couldn't finish. Service was prompt and we would highly recommend this place.
Dropped in here for a late lunch. The parmi was really tasty. Had lots of options on the menu and gluten free options which is really handy. Service from staff left a little to be desired. Overall pretty good!
A great pub and definitely worth a visit. Very solid craft beer tap range and excellent food. Staff are helpful and attentive. Live music worth listening to as well.
HORRIBLE experience, I wouldn’t ever recommend going to the barking dog, booked on Saturday at around 4pm for a 6: 30 booking for 4 and when we arrived on time, we were left standing around waiting to be seated for 10 minutes then only to be told our reservation didn’t exist or “we must of used a different name” then being told there was a table available for us but it was all the way over to the other side of the neighbouring restaurant, we were seated with no cutlery or menus, we continued to wait as the staff walked past us about 6 times, other tables were seated and attended too but we were still ignored, after waiting 25 minutes we left and only then a waitress said “thanks for coming” absolutely pathetic.
Only giving one star because none isn’t a option.
Ended up going around the corner to Parma bar, would highly recommend
Great spot for lunch. Ridiculously inexpensive and extensive parmy menu, and definitely worth a stop when you’re next in pako.
Delicious Parma with a variety of topping options and friendly staff, I would definitely go back.
