Wonderful atmosphere live music great priced meals that are huge and delicious really worth a visit

Great to listen to live music Sunday afternoon whilst having a few drinks, we stayed on to eat dinner, l had a schnitzel which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice l recommend coming here if your in the area.

We went to this restaurant on a Wednesday night and we were very disappointed with the service, it took 30 mins for the waiter come and ask us what we wanted for dinner, then it took an hour and a half for our meal to come out.
The bar staff were very rude towards us and took there time to bring our drinks to us and it wasn't busy at all and all we got was'the management are sorry for the delay

Cool space: choice of seating in the dining room, pub area, or 'mad bar' beer patio.decent drink selection, with a great specials menu. Food was good but took a while; it was a full house mid service on a saturday though, so I should have thought to order an appetiser. All up, it's a great venue and one of my go-to watering holes on Pako.

Went for dinner to celebrate my weddig anniversary. I ordered the calamari salad. The waitress brought me out a very small plate of squid. I questioned her if this was the main and she went away to the kitchen leaving me to eat the plate she brought out. She returned a while later confessing she had written my order correctly on her notepad (main salad) but had told the kitchen the entre- admitting her mistake. She then proceeded to try an take the plate from me which I had nearly finished. I asked her to leave it and just bring me the salad component so i could atleast have a full meal. A few minutes later she returned informing me that I would have to pay for the entre and the main. I questioned her and she replied as I had finished the entre I had to pay for it and the main, I asked her if she have thrown out the squid if I had let her take the remainder of the meal that I had already started and she replied yes. So rather than try and make amends for their staff error the barking dog would rather punish the customer for their staff's mistakes. Having worked in hospitality for over 10 years I cannot believe that this is acceptable.

Nice spot around midday to watch the world go by looking out onto Pako Street. The wrong pizza arrived shortly followed by the right pizza which was delicious! And the arancini balls were pretty good too.bigger than expected prices seemed fair. Friendly staff.

Took my 15 month old boy for a boogie on Sunday for live music. 10 points to everyone working Sunday 26/12/21. We had so much fun and little man felt the love from everyone in the place. Great vibes

I managed to secure a booking here for my Birthday celebrations with a group of close friends. I went through the online booking system as instructed & received a confirmation email… only to be told 2 days prior that they have decided not to open that weekend. Terrible customer service and no apology was provided. Is it not common sense to turn off your online booking platform if you are not going to open? Not to mention, the website specifically saying “Restaurant Open”. With bookings so rare to come by these days due to capacity limits, I’m sure I’m not the only person let down by this. I booked my table over a week ago now, and the last minute cancellation has left me no time to organise something else. Poor form.

The three dollar pizza deal is insane, thesse are good pizzas for 3 dollars with any drink purchase, they can get pretty busy on the weekend so i recommend booking but mid week afternoons youre laughing

Always a pleasant experience at the Dog.
The staff from the patrons through to the security guards are friendly, lovely people.
The air of sophistication from one half of the venue is mixed with a more relaxed pub vibe in the other half. There's something for everyone here.
The menu is a great range of different culinary experiences, of which you can tell the chef's put a great deal of pride into.
A vast range of alcohol is tastefully on display.
Live music is a frequent experience at the Barking Dog, with a good range of styles for all to enjoy.

Great atmosphere. Love the non contact way of ordering. Easy to use, just scan, order and pay. Meals are wonderful and fulfilling. Staff are wonderful and delightful.

Absolutely love the Parma nights (every Wednesday - $15 Parmas) at the Dog. Great value for money Parma with a range of different topping offerings.

They are also big supporters of The Blokes Shed Geelong offering the above Wednesday night deal to the members that meet up every Tuesday night to catch up for a chinwag and to promote mental health among males.

GUITAR SESSION ON SUNDAY WAS FANTASTIC. STAFF WERE VERY ACCOMMADATING TO OUR SPECIAL NEEDS. WELL DONE GUYS WE WILL BE BACK.

Overall okay experience. Ordered chips but we had to ask 2 more times before we got them. Ordered the gnocchi, the menu didn't say it had nuts in it but it had lots of pine nuts in it. They didn't make us pay for it and promptly brought out a replacement pizza. The gluten free pizza base wasn't cooked all the way through. We also had to ask twice to get some of our drinks. They were quite busy so might've just been a crazy night for them but definitely need to state if an item contains nuts on the menu.

Very disappointed in the treatment and service tonight! Guy behind the bar with glasses very rude. Not the first time but the last time for us, being a locals we are never coming back. Very bad service.

Parmis, service was amazing. Mostly because of the chubby chap with glasses who made the experience a ball! Back next Wednesday!

Great place for a beer. Do not order food!
Staff were very accommodating, good vibe. But greasy greasy food. Everything we ordered was so oily that we left feeling sick. Attempted to soak some of the oil off the pizza with napkins but still no good.
Also, with the "COVID friendly" ordering system on your phone- every time you order it gives you a service charge of about $1, no pay at the end of your experience option. So for 3 rounds of drinks you get a service charge of over $3.

Called in on a lazy Sunday to find a great band, really nice staff and super cheap pizzas! (for a limited time but well worth it!) Cruizy atmosphere. As long as the back door is kept shut to keep the cigarette smoke out.its a place I will be calling back to

Attended Guitar Bar Sunday session as performer. Lovely alfresco space. Great vibe, engaged crowd.
