The Avoca Hotel

First stop on Saturday for our 30th birthday pub crawl. Ian it was a pleasure meeting you and trying out some great gins. I was blown away by the amount of spirits you had and the knowledge you had on each of them. Have heard great things on your food so will be back soon to try it out. Cheers!

Hands down possibly the best pub meal our group of three have had in a loooong time. After a three hour drive we would have been happy with the usual parmi but boy did we get better than that! So many delicious morsels, from start to finish, and yummy local wines. A cosy little dining room, complete with open fire, and excellent low key service. We’ve booked again for dinner tomorrow!

Great lunch at the Avoca Hotel. Bang bang cauliflower is spicy crunchy and delicious. All mains were excellent - we had a pasta, whiting tails and steak. Cooked to perfection. Fabulous selection of local wines and lovely hospitality from the owners. We’ll be back for sure.

Great pub, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff. Food is real good, great local wine selection & craft beers too. Highly recommend this place.

Visited Avoca today for lunch at the quite unique Avoca Hotel. Love this venue, you feel welcome as soon as you enter. We enjoyed every aspect of the experience, from the excellent attention to service, top local wine choices, the menu and of course, the amazing food! I look forward to returning on our next visit to Victoria. Highly recommend.

Food over priced a salad is not onion and lettuce the curry is also not just over cooked pumpkin and beans greatly disappointed been there once never again better value from bakery

Great food and service. Owner best Barista in town. Spent 20 minutes on 3 hot, hot coffee. Hope they were good & hot. Time to go owner. Done a fine job, place looks fantastic. Left your mark with brilliant food.

Came here with a bus load of hikers who had been talking about burgers for a week. We had 25mins to eat and were worried we wouldn't have time for a burger. The barman came to the rescue and rushed our food through and the burger did not disappoint! Its easy to see why the Avoca burger is famous, the best burger I've had in Melbourne AND the beer battered chips were amazing too. The service is outstanding and this will now be a regular stop after a hike. Thanks again Avoca Hotel, you guys rock!

Top quality establishment. Great food and local wine. Dining room or pub meals and both are superb.

On a cold winter’s night what could be better than a delicious hot meal and an open fire? Perhaps a nice glass of something? You’ll find this at the Avoca Hotel. You’ll also be greeted by very friendly staff. Although this is my third visit to Avoca, it’s my first to the hotel but certainly not my last. Great menu choices and an excellent selection of local wines. There was a also an extensive selection of beers and ales.

Definitely one of the best country pubs around, great selection of local drinks, amazing collection of gin, food is of a very good standard and service to match
Highly recommend a visit if in the area.

Had lunch today Easter Saturday, so busy the place was pumping. We had booked ahead which a good thing given how busy they were. Food was beautiful especially the Mussels in fact all our meals were delicious. The service was great.thanks to all for actually delivering a wonderful experience

Attentive, friendly staff & brilliant food. Sitting out front in the sunshine, watching the world go by - no better way to spend a Sunday!

In such a small town I the middle of nowhere, it was actually a surprise to find a decent pub, and one which serves decent pub fare. I'm sure they are helped by the fact there are so many wineries in the local area.

On approach, the hotel/restautant stood out as being one of the more charactfull in the town and was very presented in its clean red brick veneer.

Inside, there was a nice atmosphere with a roaring fire and divided dining areas. Staff all said hello and smiled. Thats always worth extra points.

And the food.well our group of 4 all left with empty plates, lighter wallets and satisfaction of being full.

Food was absolutely decadant. Great service too. Was my dad's birthday and they decorated the dessert very well. Thanks for a great lunch!

Great day out, excellent meals, service and hospitality.very covid aware, all safety measures taken, fast meal service and drink range excellent. I recommend this place for a great relaxing day.

If it's not the Wine list or the extensive beers available on tap and in bottle.then it's absolutely the food! Easily the best country pub I've been to and I've been coming here for over 3 years. The food is consistently excellent. Rotating specials and desserts. Ian and family are so hospitable and have so much knowledge and experience that you can't not have a great time here. They pride themselves on local wines and produce. The gin selection rivals a top Melbourne bar. Come here once and you'll leave talking about it until you return.

Friendly accommodating service. Meals that are tasty, well presented and definitely great quality. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. Just right!

We enjoyed genuine friendly service and the most delicious food. It was our first meal out following regional Vic restrictions easing and it was memorable for all the right reasons.
