Very expensive chinese food and boring expensive wine list you are rushed to order, no manners by the floor manager avoid

Pretty good. Chosen for being open/available on a Monday night as a top up meal post wine tasting. A bit surprised to find that the food offering was Chinese rather than standard pub fare. But the choices were interesting and well prepared. Good. Reasonable drinks list. I find the focus on pale ales a bit over the top. Prices a little high - but it is Albert Park! Redesign of the pub interior is easy on the eye. Which is a bonus!

The Albert Park Hotel was the perfect place to host our VIP international guests during the Australian Grand Prix. World-class food in a beautiful setting that shows Melbourne in its best light. We were really looked after by the staff and have visited many times since.

I don't normally write public reviews but I felt compelled on this occasion after reaching out to the restaurant privately and only ever receiving a very insincere automated apology with no attempt to address our concerns whatsoever.

We had been looking forward to a lovely dinner with our family visiting from the UK. Unfortunately, when our meals arrived they were luke-warm to cold.
After requesting politely for our dishes to be reheated our dishes were returned to us cold again. We asked for a second time for the food to be reheated. The dishes came back to us for the third time only mildly warm and barely passable considering this had been the second time we had requested our food to be reheated. By this stage we felt our dinner and experience had been ruined. The waitress did apologise for the food being cold but no one took any real initiative to correct the situation or make things right.

We spent a significant amount of money on our dinner and the entire group of six people left feeling extremely underwhelmed with both the food and service. The following day a number of people experienced abdominal discomfort, bloating, stomach cramps and diarrhoea in just a few hours from leaving the restaurant.

Needless to say we expected so much more from such a beautiful venue.unfortunately the food and service was not acceptable for the price point and it's quite incredible the restaurant didn't care enough to even dignify our complaint with a personal response. Given our poor experience I could not recommend this restaurant to others.

** Update: Chris reached out to us directly after our complaint. He was very good at listening to our concerns. Chris went out of his way to address all our concerns and was extremely generous providing our group of 6 with a wonderful evening showcasing the best of Happy Valley restaurant. Really appreciated the personal touch from Chris and it’s reassuring to know our first experience was an aberration and not a true reflection of the restaurant.

The food was amazing! We ordered a serve of the dumplings again because they were so good.
The restaurant itself was extremely well soundproofed, it was really busy and my partner and I could still talk without raising our voices.
The waitress we had was lovely but sometimes hard to track down.
Bar staff were phenomenal, we were early and had a few drinks and couldn't rate them highly enough with service and quality of drinks.
This place is really good for people watching, many eclectic patrons with interesting stories.

Three of us came here for lunch, ordered beef, char sew, crab fried rice and chicken wings.
The food is above average, not very special but alright. We spent $50 pp.

The ambience is super chill, we had a good time sitting at both outdoor and indoor setting. It's clean and very lux.

Food service is superb, all staffs are friendly and professional.

Chinese fusion dining that offers some innovative dishes and other interesting offerings. The kitchen closes at 9pm on weeknights. Great place for an early dinner if you don't plan to linger.

I was part of a banquet where we didn't seem to get that much food, and the nice desserts were all put on the other of the two tables for some reason. Other than that it's a very nice place and the service was good.
Warning: Doesn't seem to be a popular place for young people, outside of my group there were very few people younger than 40.

Food was nice but overpriced for this type of venue. Disappointed in the service not by the waiters but by the maître d. Who was vacuuming around our table at the end of our lunch as we were still drinking and eating. $350 for lunch and this is the service? Would go for a drink here in the future but not a meal. It has more of a pub feel with tv’s showing sport etc.rather than an experience reflective of the cost of dining.

What a wonderful evening dining at the Albert Park Hotel. If you are looking for a dinning experience with a relaxing and classy touch then this place is for you. The service from the staff is second to none.

Make sure you try the spinner crab omelette and the duck Oh and of course don’t forget the dim sum.

Great food, great location. Looks like a huge refurb from its original days. The lofty area above the bar gives it a great vibe.

Got hammered here on a Friday night. Initially the place was full of blokes then around 1030 some very hungry women filtered in and took over the place. More eye contact than an optometrist appointment. Sadly upstairs was out of bounds because of a private function, so I don't know what that looked like.

Upmarket Asian restaurant with great food in a recently updated pub. Outdoor area for the puppies and good heaters. Great local catchup pub.

Interesting and tasty menu. Gorgeous decor. Staff were super helpful in helping with my food allergy limitations.

It's a very nice place to sit in. The interior looks amazing. The Chinese food is decent but no better than from decent take away joint. The price is at least double. Mains took more than 40 mins to come out and then we were told we didn't have time to eat dessert. Not a great experience.

I was soo looking forward eating here but left very disappointed.
Firstly we booked this several weeks before hand and when we turned up we were told they had a limited menu, that really upset us as many of the dishes we wanted were unavailable. They should have contacted us!

Then the service was soo bad, after entrees we had Peking duck and they didn’t clear the plates, no one asked us for a 2nd glass of wine and when it came to the bill it seemed they didn’t want our money, no one wanted to give it to us. There was soo much staff on hand but they just seem to miss the basics. The food was okay… you are paying a premium and I expected a lot better especially with the service. You can’t be charging those prices dishing horrible service

I will not be returning

Great interior and fantastic atmosphere. The rest of our experience was unfortunately disappointing. The waitstaff seem confused, didn’t know which table had ordered what. Our food arrived cold. We had to ask 3 different staff members for plates and chopsticks. We eventually received a fork. The food is average at best for the price, with quality and serving size both underwhelming. Great place for a drink, but if you want better quality Chinese food with better value for money best to eat elsewhere.

Very good venue. The food was excellent- pricey but excellent. The service was very good. A nice relaxing lunch. Will be back.

Food and portion sizes were exceptional and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Great selection of food and beverages
