TGI Fridays reviews
42It was the worst. The more you go, the worse it gets. There was a shrimp in the dish, but it was so small that I thought it was anchovy. The food was cold and grilled medium, but it was hard and tough. The employee's attitude was also bad, although we have been celebrating the anniversary. She threw a plate of food at the table, and there was no polite apple when the food came out of hair. It's the worst food. The drink was also tasteless.a mess of management. Finally, fried food was too burned.
Unfortunately, the food and experience was disappointing.
I have been to TGIF several times before and it has never been this bad. Everything came out (except for one dish which went to a different table and we had to remind them that we were all waiting) correctly but each meal seemed to have something missing or in incredibly small amount, either it was vegetables or salad for the burgers. We had to ask for the staff to bring over the additional sauce and vegetables so we could have a proper meal, especially for those prices.
The meat seemed that it was frozen and microwaved up and slapped between 2 buns. The buns were actually quite nice. One of the people had the fish and chips and the "salad" was in a worse condition than the week-old open spinach leaves I have my fridge.
So an overall disappointing night from what is a great and fun restaurant chain around the world. Won't be making that mistake again.
The food is a bit expensive, but the happy hour cocktails are nice.
+ great taste …
+ wide range of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.
+ good cocktails and local beers.
+ great vibe …
+ friendly staff …
- slightly over priced …
Tip: if you’re going with more than 5 people, and/or on a busy weekend night, book a table beforehand—they can get pretty busy!
$65 gets you, mice running past you while you eat, cold chips and 2 uninspired burgers and an entree. I will never consume food near this place again.
Look, the food we got verses what we were charged didn't make sense. Some things were hit and miss. Like roquette was wilted and sad, chips over cooked. Fish was amazing, starters amazing. That's what I mean.
The vinyl floorboards my shoes skated on. Dangerous when you're in heals. I almost lost my footing.
Accoustics weren't the best. Very loud and hard to hear your companions. Staff were lovely and professional.
Food portions were pretty small and overall everything feels very overpriced, as the quality was less than even a regular pub standard for twice the cost. Also not sure if this is management taking a more American approach or not but making your wait staff duck down to our level to take our order looked uncomfortable and demeaning and I felt sorry for the lady who came to our table. Waitstaff also seemed pretty disinterested but service was otherwise fine. The TVs with sports of them were pretty neat though, and I did enjoy the spicy barbeque wings as an entree.
I dined here for the second time thinking my last experience was a one-off and this time would be better, but I have been disappointed on both occasions. Melbourne Central has a lot of better options available close by so I can't recommend.
Extremely rude staff ordered a lemon lime bitters and he commented can you order anything more interesting? What does that even mean, and uncalled for. Burger was so dry as well.terrible experience.
Extremely rude manager in Melbourne central brach! He thinks he is the owner of the restaurant! If you want to try this branch of TGI, prepare for waiting half an hour +
Very good restaurant, had a brilliant environment and extremely good steaks. I would definitely recommend going here if you are into very well cooked meals.
Stay away. No, seriously, this place needs a visit from the health department.
The atmosphere is nice and looks clean. The wait staff was average. The horror began when we were seated and were given a decanter of water. The sludge at the bottom of the decanter has to be seen to be believed. It looked like someone served us a jar of river water, sediment included. We pointed this out to our waitress, who seemed apologetic and brought us another decanter of water.with the same grey sediment sludge at the bottom.
A waiter behind us opened a cabinet under the water tap, and we smelled an awful rotten-egg odour. We decided there must be something wrong with the pipes, and simply resolved not to drink the water. Having to eat with that smell behind us was unpleasant, however.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the only problem.
While my Bourbon-burger tasted fine, my request for no tomatoes or onions was disregarded. I picked them off, but I was annoyed; if I'd had an allergy, this could have been deadly. The menu said fries were served with ketchup, but I had to ask for some to be brought to the table. My fries were very clearly not made fresh for me.they were stale and chewy, and tasted hours old. I couldn't eat them.
My partner could not finish his quesadilla- the cheese was a really weird color and texture, again looked like it had been sitting around for a while, maybe microwaved?
The place looks nice, so kudos to whoever manages to cover up the disaster that comes out of the kitchen. It's my fervent hope none of the serving room water is used in the kitchen, but even so, I won't be eating there again, and will make sure my family and friends stay away too- for their own health.
Our visit was on 25.9.19, about 1pm.
The food was filling and decent. We ordered entrees and mains and everything arrived very quickly - a little too quickly as the mains arrived half way through finishing the entrees. The staff were pleasant however we had empty plates and drinks left on our table for a while.
This is the worst place ever! Worst food and mostly worst service ever! The waitress was so disrespectful and rude! Horrible experience. I will never go back here and I don’t recommend anyone to go. The food is 0/0 and the customer service and waiters and waitresses are the worst I have ever seen in Melbourne.
There was a waitress (south american) who was extremely rude was talking down on us and they brought out burnt food and flat coke. We kindly asked for new drinks but she was so rude that we left halfway without even finishing food. Never again will I step foot into this place.
Friends and family have had the same experience here it’s always such terrible bad service and food. 0/0 stars.
Not recommended! We went there yesterday afternoon. My daughter got food poisoning because of the berry smoothie. She's having diarrhea, vomiting and acute adominal pain. Had to bring her to the hospital at 3 in the morning. Only one waitress to attend to all customers. Ask for a takeaway, but she just ignored us. Our vacation completely ruined.
Rubbish food and rubbish waiters. The main waitress on the floor was super sarcastic and every time she asked if everything was okay it was super insincere. Brought us flat drinks and asked to replace them twice then asked for bottled drinks and took over 20 minutes. When the waitress walked passed I asked for our drinks and she said the bar is super busy to which I reply don’t worry I’m done eating. She brought them out moments later and sarcastically asked if we would like them now. I never leave reviews but this place deserves a mega thumbs down. Never will I go to this one in Melbourne central again. Worst customer service ever! 0 STARS! Waste of money
Ordered drinks, never came. Cancelled them. My glass smelt like gravy and was filthy. We asked for water for the table about 3 times. At first the waiter said "I'll see what I can do for you". Instead of just going and getting a jug of water. Won't be back anytime soon. Oh and the food was nothing special either.
First visit to a TGI!
Loved the Oreo cocktail and the fajitas.
Download the app as it had a "bottomless" soft drink option, and $10 off your first visit (to be used within 30 days). It's great to see decent app loyalty supported.:)
Come here with friends and family for a fat food treat. Price is a bit on the high side, but it's quantity over quality place, so will be cheaper in a group.
Liked it, but too unhealthy to be a regular haunt.
Very poor service.after being seated waited 20 mins and then went to the bar to ask for service.waiters attending all tables except ours.felt neglected.takes ages to get drinks
. Staff needs more training.disappointed.
The food was super oily, i never wanted to go tgi but was forced to. Was amazing service though, rare that you get table service so really appreciated that.
The food was not too bad, except the taste of oil in the chicken burger, BUT the customer service was terrible. It just ruined me and my girlfriend's day, and I don't wanna talk about the untrained staff who can't answer even the simple questions.
So my girlfriend had her own food from another restaurant, suddenly the manager appears and sits on the table next to us, and says "you're not allowed to eat this food since it might be poisonous, unless you sign a statement that we don't have any responsibility". Long story short, he came back and said that the head office advised we don't accept such statements anymore, so please do not eat!
It is understandable if a restaurant is not willing that someone brings a box with a logo of a different place and they can simply say "take out your food to food court" instead of bringing a nonsense excuse and treating the customer like a guilty person in court!
EDIT: Second visit, pork chops were mch better. Got overcharged. Manager offered refund or take the extra drinks charged, no apology, no extras
Great staff but the pork ribs were dry, cold and just not what they were supposed to be today
