Teta Mona reviews
81 Would give a 2.5 if was being truly honest.
Service = Curt and inattentive
Food = Overpriced and very basic
The falafel was very dry, very basic, of the same quality that you would get from a cheap kebab van with unappetising pickled vegetables (definitely from a jar). Extremely overpriced for what it was: Essentially 4 dry falafels for 10$.
Bread was extremely dry and tasted, quite frankly, like cardboard. Pretty sure it was from a packet. It would have been really nice if they'd heated it up in advance but instead it was as if they'd taken it from a packet opened the day before and stuffed it into a bowl.
Cauliflower dish was forgettable.
Hummus and babaganoush were the only redeeming features.
Around $80 for 4 small dishes and no drinks. Incredibly bad value/quality for money.
Wouldn't come back which is a shame because the venue is really sweet.
Unfortunately, does not live up to the amazing flavours Lebanese cuisine is known for.
Dishes were very bland and portions were small.
Maybe things have changed in recent times for this place
5 of us went there with short notice. Phoned up and they accommodated us. Tasty food and ambience incorporates Middle Eastern music.
Beautiful ambience, quality and delicious food that never fails, amazing service and friendly staff.what more could one want when dining out? ! Your taste buds will thank me later, sahtahn!
All food was incredible, the lamb was an amazing flavour, loved the staff they were suoer friendly and helpful, great price, cute location and vibe.
The food was fine but insanely overpriced for what it is, what we got and the style of restaurant. 15% surcharge on Sunday's, only told us when we were at the till paying.
Great food and plenty of it so I don't know what some of these negative reviews are on about.
I have been to Teta Mona a number of times but unsure if I will return after the lady at the front counter was so rude!
I booked for 14 people banquet for my birthday out in the courtyard when we had got there I notified her that we will be one person down as they were unwell. She seemed super annoyed and made a comment in front of us to someone in the kitchen. That even my grandparents heard. Fortunately she didn’t serve our table. However when my partner went to pay for the table she was still rude and showed shocking customer service. I never write bad reviews but to be honest I wish I had booked somewhere else that’s how much she bothered us. I would have much preferred to just pay for the missing person’s spot if it meant she would have been more pleasant.
Have been eating here for years and will always return and recommend. Unpretentious neighbourhood restaurant with a delicious, generous menu. The lamb main is amazinc and the DIY falafel and dips are always solid. The dish I will always order are the Samboosek, but in the few years since I last went it seems they have slightly changed it. Preferred when it was served with cucumber and tomato and the balsamic / pomegranate glaze. But that’s just a personal preference. Teta Mona will always be in my top 5 restaurants.
I totally don't understand they hype of this place. Set menu was $50 per person and as I was part of the group I had no choice but to order it and the food was good, but definitely not worth $50
Always such a great ambience, and the food is incredible especially for such a good price. Homely, genuine good eats and service.
Came here for the first time tonight upon a friends recommendation…. Absolutely stunning meal and experience. Wait staff were lovely and warm, the food was full of flavour, character and depth. Each dish complimenting the next. The highlight for me was dessert - highly recommend the rose icecream and baklava - heaven on earth!
Went on a Saturday night for their banquet Menu, TBH just overpriced, tasteless nothing close to Lebanese food.
Priced 50pp, totally not worth! Unfortunately would never recommend to any one.
Fantastic food, great service. Leftovers the next day amazing again. Just book a table and eat there fabulous food.
This place never disappoints! Delicious Lebanese soul food, will keep coming back and telling everyone about it
Stumbled on this place after passing many a pretentious-looking restaurant along Lygon, and so glad we held out! We ordered the x1 medium (cauliflower - great recommendation by staff) and x2 main (beef and vegetarian), plus some hot beverages. All were hearty and simply perfect. Staff were very hospitable too. Is it a bit soon to say I adore this place? Maybe. But all I know is I’ll definitely be returning.
THE PITA BREAD SUCKS
Paid $45 per person ($80 for two) for the shared banquet.to get Lebanese mountain bread from coles and luke warm dishes that lack flavour and depth. For the price, little effort put in the food. Most of the dishes taste as though they were simply reheated. Does not taste authentic, amateur at best, not surprised there was no one of middle eastern ethnicity eating there. So many cheaper more authentic tastier middle eastern restaurants in the area.
How this place has 4.5 star rating is beyond me
Great vibe here. Delicious food. Banquet was just right. $50 per head. Had the vegetarian option which was a good choice.
Great little restaurant for our wedding anniversary. We had banquet for the night as it was the only choice but we had no regret.
Food is not authentic traditional Lebanese food. I am Lebanese and cook Lebanese food all the time, I wasn't impressed.
