Staff is very friendly especially the Japanese lady who helped me get started with my gear. Best place for anything related to photography.

I recently did a Macro course at Ted’s in their Melbourne CBD store, and it was amazing. I’m a newb and didn’t even have my own macro lens, but the instructor organised an incredible lens for me to use so I could get the most out of the event, and I’m so happy with my results.
I’ve done previous courses with the same instructor at Ted’s, and I hope to do more courses with her in the future. She really knows her stuff and has such a fun, easy going approach AND endless patience for those of us with the least amount of experience. I get so much from the in person and small course format at Ted’s Academy.
I highly recommend this Macro course. It was a thoroughly fun and interesting way to spend an afternoon. I’m hooked on Macro now and saving my pennies for a good lens.
Thanks Petrina!

First time purchasing through Ted's today was a great experience.
Picked up a new camera body and lens. Great service from Matt (as well as another gentleman) with zero pressure to buy extra stuff (an unfortunate reality of shopping at camera stores).
Ted's has gained a new customer today and I will likely send them all of my business.
Thanks guys.

We were looking for a new DLSR Camera, and must have walked in to Ted's at exactly the right time, and got the right salesman becuase he was so incredibly helpful and he actually saved us nearly $200 on the model that we had been looking at. We were in and out very quickly (which is awesome when you are on a schedule) and the new camera is "the bee'd knee's). Thanks Ted's and so sorry we cant remember the salesmans name but hey, what awesome service.

Fuming, I ordered 800d with Kit lense 18-135mm IS STM
I finally got the item delivered today on Saturday ALMOST 6pm

They sent me NO LENSE, Box has a camera and on the Box it states 18-55mm lense, and there is NO Lense of any kind. Yet what I ordered was suppose to be 18-135mm Item looks like they have packed it themselves into the box, so it's also NOT Brand New either.

Invoice says it was tested and packed By Sue, what the hell are they doing testing and touching item for anyway if it's BRAND NEW?

I think it's grey import or USED and reburbished

Going to have to deal with them tomorrow (Sunday) as they are Not open now. Will NEVER Ever Buy from them ever again.

I knew we should have went to JB HIFI instead

The best passport photo I've ever taken. The guy who was in charge was very knowledgeable, very attentive about the photo that came out. Also helped me get it cheaper than what I would have spent by letting me know how to get it done cheaper.

This all only costed 20 bucks.

Absurd experience. I ordered two canvases online. Firstly, I was never emailed an order number (I got a receipt so they clearly had the right email), and submitted three requests through the website for the order number, and never received it, despite being told all three times that an email containing the number had been sent (again, to my correct address). After hearing nothing from Ted's for three days, I went into the store and was told they had been sitting there for three days. The photos themselves were cropped so that the edges spilled around the sides of the canvas, meaning my subject (a dog) was missing its ears and forehead. There was no indication of this on the website (it offered "borders" but neglected to mention that the "borders" were actually the sides of the canvas; cropping the photo was done exactly as it is on Instagram et al, so I just assumed that whatever I cropped would be on the front of the canvas). The lady who served me tried to blame me for not using the website incorrectly, despite later wondering whether the website had showed me a canvas-edges crop, indicating that she had not actually used the website. When I questioned why anybody would want their photo cropped to spill over the side of the canvas, cutting body parts off their subject, she said, rather petulantly, "well I would". To each their own, I guess.

I wanted to leave a review for a staff member who went above and beyond to assist me whilst at the store on Elizabeth Street. Thep S was so helpful and amazing in dealing with my issue whilst a younger team member did not even attempt to solve my issue. Thank you Thep!

Go see the team at Teds CBD!

All amazing, I saw Andy & Jordan who helped me with service I have never received before in any store, not just a teds store.

These 2 guys are customer service experts aswell as camera experts.

Couldnt recommend them both enough.

Hoping teds praises them for their hard work & great service.

I have seen Andy everytime I need new equipment, back from Chadstone days.

Bought my camera a few years back at Teds. It broke and was covered under warranty. The same issue came back with the camera but the warranty was expired. I explained that there should still be coverage because the repair was clearly not done correctly. The staff member was abrasive and unhelpful. Perhaps I talked to the wrong person? He wouldn't call Olympus on my behalf. He changed the handling fee from $60 to $99 in the course of the conversation. He ended the conversation by writing the Olympus number on receipt paper and telling me to contact them myself. I did. Olympus was amazing and happy to cover the repair. It cost me $16 in shipping. I won't be buying my next camera from Teds and I've only given them two stars because they were terrible in the past. Perhaps you'll have better luck?

Bought myself my first mirrorless camera for travel. Andy, from the Elizabeth street store was super helpful. They didn't have the camera I wanted in stock at the time, but got it ordered in and took no time at all. Really helpful and friendly. A great experience. Thank you!

Great place to sell old cameras, the process was quick and I think the price offered was pretty decent (though I don't know much about second hand value). Great selection of products as well.

It seems all good review here about buying a set of camera. If its just buying small thing maybe not the best place to deal with. I was asking about lens filter and sales person explained nothing but price.
End up with next door store and they sold even cheaper than this store.

Always a bit hit and miss with service here. Try not to shop here regularly because the service is so poor.

Staff may need a little updating on products or better communication, I walked in looking for a product that was released half a month ago and the person serving me said they were still on pre-order. 2 mins later i walk past the display with a tonne of them inside the cabinet. I was ready to drop over 1k in store and this put me off spending any more time in the store.

I do feel that the store could have a somewhat new items area or better communication between the staff. The store did have everything but i decided to head up the road and picked up most the gear, went down the road and finished getting it all. The other 2 stores also communicated when one was out of product which sold me on how well connected the staff were with other stores in the area. I wish the staff member who served me first had taken a second longer to check in the system to even when such products were going to be released to realise the mistake. Small things like this matter as part of customer service.

Ted's gave me the best deal when I shop around that area. Shop assistants were friendly and helpful but there's a dispute that they forget to deduct the amount on the lens I trade in and charged me in full for a new Panny 100-400. The overcharged amount was refund and debited into my account even I have left Melbourne, a genuine and good business store. Recommended to visit this store if you're looking for camera gear.
