I paid a deposit for an X100v camera over the phone, with the Melbourne store and as I had not received any confirmation of the order I subsequently contacted the store and spoke to a staff member who was quite dismissive, gave me on Order Number but ignored my request for an Order of Confirmation, and then hung up stating that he was busy. After another phone call I eventually received the Order of Confirmation.
The one star reflects poor customer service in this instance.

I have always liked Teds. You can get better prices but not better service. I recall there being about 4 camera shops in Elizabeth st when I last lived in Melb about 20 years ago but looks like Teds is the only one to have survived if you don't count the newcomer Digidirect who sell grey market stuff as far as I can tell.

Though they didn't have stock on the floor of everything I wanted as I was passing through Melbourne (and to be clear, it was a bit of an esoteric list and nobody else has it either on their floor) I found the service to be very knowledgeable and attentive.

Today around 5: 20 pm I asked a question to the guy at the reception “how much is it passport photos taken” he told me to go back and ask other stuff member. The answer to my question is one word. But he was insisting that he is busy, in fact he wasn’t busy just lazy to answer me.
So rude behaviours and inappropriate sentences he was using

Friendly and helpful staff, however the store is small and doesn't lead to a good browsing experience. Online is probably a better bet, but coming here intially for advice might be an option.

Went there yesterday service was extremely poor told they don’t price match straight up no explanation of products. We went to buy. Left went down to digi direct. Spent over $6000 and there service was amazing.

Rory helped me choose a tripod for my mirrorless camera. There were so many different models and sizes, and I couldn't possibly know the difference between them. Appreciate his efforts.

Honestly just walk across the laneway and go to DigiDirect. They have much better service and will price match much more fairly. I managed to get 10% off my purchase by just walking 15 sec down the road. Not very competitive.

I've used Ted's in Camberwell but unfortunately they're closed now. Came to Melbourne store and was greeted promptly and assisted by staff who were friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend them for any of your photography needs.

I must be invisible now. Impossible to get noticed by staff, despite being 6’5” and large. When I finally got served after all the other people who had arrived after me, it was curt and abrupt like I was invading their special place.wanting to buy something! I own a Leica M9 and various lenses, have started using a GoPro Hero9 and wanted some accessories. No discussion or help just pointed to the display and “That’s all we have” whereupon the guy just walked off! Ummm.okay, I guess I will assist myself at another shop in future. If I could give zero stars I would.

Terrible customer service, rang up and had an order put on hold, drove half an hour to get there, then was told I had to pay using the online system but would have to come back 3 days later to collect the item even though it was right there! Incomprehensible incompetence.

Very easy experience when I went in to get passport photos taken. The service was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly.

Placed an order for a lens, the website said it was a "special order" they debited my credit card and then told me it was a 4 - 6 week wait for the item. It would have been nice if they told me that before I placed my order. To be fair, when I said 4-6 weeks was unacceptable, they did re-credit my credit card but why would you debit a credit card for a product that was not in stock?

I bought a new Fuji camera from the Melbourne store a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately experienced some issues with overheating. Andy, Byron and Jordan went out of their way to provide excellent customer service, eventually replacing the unit with a new one. Highly recommended!

Awful experience with Ted's this new year. They mis-sold a product on their website, a product which I thankfully bought in plenty time before the required date. Product arrived and was missing a part which was explicitly stated as being included on both the order receipt and the website.

I contacted Ted's and granted they apologised and said they would provide the missing part in the post. BUT.

Today I received another package from Ted's — bizarrely the entire item again — but STILL MISSING the part.

Upon contacting support I am then told that that product doesn't come with that part and in fact, there is no part manufactured for that product.

They offered absolutely no support other than a full refund if I returned the products — now two of them. This would mean me having to trip to the post office, more time out of my day, to return their mistakes. I understand this is the law that they offer this but it was absolutely no consolation to their awful service.

I will not be purchasing again. Be warned — they still haven't updated their website with the correct description, what else are they mis-selling?
