Tao Tao House reviews
48We had the best customer service experience coming to Tao Tao house. It was my birthday and my family and I forgot to bring the cake from home. When our waiter found out, they surprised us with a fruit platter and fried ice-cream cake and played happy birthday on the loud speaker. Amazing food and experience.
Delicious! And beautiful to look at, tucked away on a busy street that can't be heard from the back tables.
This place is consistently good. A recent lunch with a bunch of blokes worked really well with our choice to go with the modestly priced set lunch. Good service as well.
Happy Chinese New Year. Great food and service. Haven't been to this place since it was the Panda restaurant! Long time ago. Will be going back to Tao Tao House for sure
Consistently delicious dumplings, exceptionally friendly service, and decent value. Our local favourite for yum cha.
We have dined at Tao Tao House previously selecting our meal from their à la carte menu however this time we visited to try out their Yum Cha offerings. We were impressed, not only with the dishes but also the service, especially from a young guy with a great sense of humour.
Recommended by locals but found it iverpriced with ordinary Yum Cha quality, can get better somewhere.
Yum Cha dishes were nice but service was poor. Sat down for lunch at 12: 00 and pork buns arrived at 12: 50. Multiple waiters were uninterested in chasing up where they were at despite them being the only thing my four year old daughter ordered. Other dishes also took ages but the staff really didn’t care. Worth noting that there was only a la carte for Yum Cha, no trolley service. Overall an unpleasant experience despite good quality food.
We ate at Tao Tao House last night and I’m still feeling the love today! The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly, kind and accommodating. We were out with friends and had our 15 month old with us and the staff went above and beyond to keep her happy! They chatted to her and made her giggle, brought her treats and kept her smiling all night! We felt so welcome. Not to mention the food was delicious! It was brought out nice and quick and hot and was all fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful night!
Authentic experience, food was tasty but very over priced, $100 for 2 people with tea. Some dishes were on the colder side after being at the end of the trolley. No indication of price for what you are selecting either. The food was delicious though, would suggest coming with a larger group.
Very good quality yum cha and dinner options. We attended lunch after reopening and food was cooked fresh and brought to the table. Great: prawn dumplings, siu mai. Skip: bbq pork puffs, spare ribs (many bones), egg tarts.
Fantastic customer service. Staff were so nice. Food was also great. Not expensive & food came out quickly. Overall great experience.
This was up there with the best Asian food I've found in Melbourne. We were pleasantly surprised and had an absolutely delicious spread of food. We had a very experienced and friendly staff member, and we asked for their recommendations which were all 10/10. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we got also. BYO which is great also. Will definitely be back!
Seriously - one of the best Yum Cha experiences. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff were fabulous. All of the staff were so accommodating and helpful - they really made our day! Thankyou thankyou! We will be back! Highly recommend Tao Tao House!
With new management, the standard of flavour, presentation & dish portion has not been maintained.
Dined today for yum cha. Super impressed with the staff. Even though they were extremely busy it was no problem for our Gluten Free adult kids to order off the menu. This included lettuce cups, fried rice, calamari and Peking duck pancakes (which came in lettuce leaves). They even brought out GF soya sauce. Prices good too. Well done.
Excellent service, one of the biggest reasons I return here, the food is enjoyable, facilities clean looking
Visited over the weekend for yum cha service and birthday celebration with my family. Service was excellent and exceeded expectations - very attentive staff who were able to explain all the dishes in Mandarin and English, and refilled the tea promptly. Food was also very high quality, with a good range of dishes. Highly recommend the 'pumpkin dumplings' and mango pancakes which were some unusual dishes that I had never seen before (surprising as I've had many yum cha sessions!) Decor is quite beautiful, restaurant was initially quiet but got busier throughout the lunch service. Everything was perfect - was my first time here, and definitely won't be the last!
Very good Chinese food in Hawthorn/Kew, which is of a consistently high standard. I don't get that crazy MSG phenomenon at night after eating out at Tao Tao House which is a really good thing! They use good quality ingredients.
