Tanswell's Commercial Hotel reviews
77Went above and beyond when I was looking to propose to my girlfriend, very friendly staff and fried chicken is really good!
Haven’t stayed here only eaten lunch. Original building pub. Lots of character as a result. Parking out back or in the Main Street. It was quiet when we went for lunch. The staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was served very quickly and the gnocchi was sensational even though it doesn’t look the best in the photo. The pork belly did not have any crackle so that disappointed, the chips were really really good. I like the atmosphere and it has bands play which is good.
We just had lunch here. The food is good, portion is a bit small. However great sitting with good vibe at the backyard.
Great old world hotel in centre of Beechworth.excellent value for money, great burgers.good beers on tap and a pretty impressive wine list.
On the evening we ate there, it seemed that there was only one woman doing the job of several. She took our food and drink orders, checked people into their rooms, served at the bar and helped deliver the meals too. She did an amazing job. The food was tasty and the wine menu extensive. An enjoyable evening.
Grand old hotel in the heart of the main street. Starters were vegetarian spring rolls and an olive selection served with toasted bread. The ngocci with prosciutto was delicious. Pick a window seat and watch the world go by.
Affordable food for the location. However the vegetable lasagna was still cold in the centre and the steak was overcooked for medium-rare.
There for lunch with friends. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff were very courteous and helpful.
Not even thinking about staying here.
I was just visiting the town for a weekend with mu relatives.
I understand that respect is a main thing in such a historic place that's why I'm warning the future visitors to make sure you're asking permission to take a picture inside of the premises if you don't want to be mistreated by the staff of this beautiful building.
My apologies to them if there was a sign and I missed it.
Well priced steak sandwich that was perfectly cooked. Friendly service and plenty of space to escape busy grounds.
Quite a good night out. It was quite busy on Christmas eve but they did well to serve everyone. The couple of beers I tried weren't great, not sure if that's just my preference though but the locals I was with said their taps aren't great.
What a great country pub with style.
A beautiful old building. The rooms are basic but clean with spotless bathrooms in the hallway.
It's very economical with breakfast included.
Will visit again.
Food was nice but need to work on the salad (a bit of lettuce). $33 for a main salad & chips. Service ok. Would not go back.
Their own 'Stanley Lager' is fantastic. Good to support a local beer that isnt some and over hopped, wanky craft beer. A good honest lager. Nice building too. I'd pop down for a brew again for sure
Q: Is there anything that can be made vegan?
A: No.
My friend (omnivore) who cannot at all have any dairy was also told "we can't check".
Beer selection was okay, so there's a star for that.
Basic rooms in a beautiful building. Bathroom and shower are separate, but present very well the location could not be better. Bar on establishment is well appointed and staff are wonderful.
Stumbled across this place. Great, warm atmosphere. Bistro was understaffed so we had a beer by the fire in the front bar and the waitress grabbed us when the food came. The steak was super tender and delicious! Parma good too. The service and the locals were super friendly. They have gigs too.
