Tahina Northcote reviews
60Be aware do not buy from this place it’s not clean and people making sandwichs not wearing gloves very bad hygiene
Consistently incredible food and ever-friendly customer service. My go-to place for a delicious vegan meal.
Has this place changed hands? Used to be a top fave for us but recently visited, had three bites of a pita and threw the rest out. Soggy and flavourless. Such a shame!
I have never been disappointed with every visit to Tahina. Such a variety and it's all vegetarian. I highly recommend the roast potatoes and the pita pockets are in great portion and fills your tummy nicely. Great value for money and the staff are friendly and patient. I normally can get a seat but obviously slim pickings if you come at their peak time (pre-covid-19). They also offer pick up service, which you can complete online too. This was all prior to Covid-19 anyway.
Brilliant food; high quality, very reasonably priced This is the Shakshuka Playltter (Vegan version). Cost about $18, I always get 2 meals from it
Generous dish sizes for low prices. All dishes seem to be vegetarian. I didn't like mine (shakshuka green platter) but the desserts were good and out of the ordinary (recommend the vegan chocolate souffle).
Several dishes were poorly cleaned (glasses, spoons).
I really adore Tahina! Such a cute little place always busy. The star are very friendly and the food is always fresh. They have great vegan options, the hommos is amazing and my favourite is the carrot hot dog there is limited seating available is the only down fall. They also have another store on Brunswick st Fitzroy.
Great food! Quality ingredients, the stuff is very friendly! Waiting time depending on what you order, but pretty fast!
Delicious, affordable, generous portions and lovely staff. Aww yissssss gonna come back herrrrrre
Great food, the two smoothies I've tried where fantastic.in context I do frequently spend $12-13 for pint of beer. Yet my mind still has trouble forgetting the $5 shake scene from Pulp Fiction as the smoothies have just graduated from $10 to $11!?
Attentive and friendly staff - great little atmosphere and yummy vegetarian options! I was really impressed.
Easily top 3 Falafel places in Melbourne! I wish I could show a picture of the food but I eat it too fast every time I come in here to be able to post a photo of it! Staff are always friendly, it is a little cramped but the food is well worth it!
I was really pleasently surprised with how delicious the food is at Tahina, looks kinda like a takeout restaurant but the food is really amazing. I look forward to going back.
I just had the Monkey Salad. It only got a star ‘cause zero stars wasn’t an option.
Eating this doughy salad without water was like doing the WeetBix challenge. So much quinoa I threw out a kilo of it at the end.
I’m never spending $15.50 on this soggy dish sponge again.
Food was fairly tasty and came out fairly fast. However they had a misleading sticker right next to the Eftpos terminal saying they accept Amex but they didnt allow me to use it. To add insult to injury they had the machine setup to charge the merchant fees back to the customer on all other cards anyway.
Delicious, fresh food. Great for take away. (Seating is a bit cramped.) I especially love the wholemeal pitas. But very slow service in peak times. The cafe needs at least 3, rather than only 2, (overworked) people preparing food in the evenings.
This place was seriously great. Low-key, fantastic food and quick service. Looking forward to returning.
Fresh, consistent, homemade, delicious! Falafel Salad (it's a meal) are awesome. Love the baked cauliflower. Love pretty much everything. Cons: pre prepped salads so no variation (one of our family members needs to be chilli free, no can do). The shakshuka does not travel well if you are getting delivery. I'm hungry after a couple of hours if I get a pita pocket alone.
One of the best Vegetarian Israeli food cafe in Melbourne! Good portion size doubled with great taste. 3 varieties of Shakshuka are great, Pita pocket varieties are yumm and smoothies and vegan desserts are lip smackingly good!
Yum! How amazing that everything on this menu can be made vegan!
We tried:
Carrot Hot Dog - wow, definitely recommend this one. Drool!
Cauliflower - again, omg wow.so succulent, flavours on point.
Green Falafel Pita - so juicy, satisfying and yum!
You MUST try one of the smoothies there. The salted caramel one was INSANELY good.
Team is friendly, cool vibes, great playlist too!
