Tabac Bakery reviews
57 Amazing alternative to bunbun bakery with shorter lines.
The banh mi’s are jam packed with filling and very tasty. You also have the option of the tiger roll over the normal roll.
Expect to spend ~$9 for a banh mi here.
Best Bahn mi I’ve have in Melbourne. Really friendly quick service. Not to mention $9 for a crispy pork roll 10/10!
So I always go to the joint few doors down, decided to give this one a go after many years of skipping past it. Now it's the only go to place. The size, quality, freshness and crispiness all in one roll.
Amazing vietnamese roll and coffee! Highly recommended
Will be back next weekend 100%!
Easily in the top 3 places in Springvale for these banh mi/rolls, I'll let you guess the other 2. Had a grilled chicken and a crispy pork today and mate, SO CRISPY, straight
My partner and I use to come here all the time. It was quite the sentimental place for me but since the new owners took over, it's not as good.
It's not terrible but definitely nowhere near as good as how the previous owners did it.
They used the same tongs for the veges, meat and toppings.
All the ingredients are messy and all over the place.
The sauce has no flavour now, the tiger rolls aren't as good.
First time here and absolutely deleted the roll - fantastic. Half bbq beef half crispy pork ya won’t regret it. Good stuff guys, thank you!
Probably the best pork roll I have ever had. Worth a trip or lucky you if you live in the area.
Highly recommend
While everywhere else was busy installing outdoor seated areas, Tabac Cafe, who already had it, decided to remove theirs.
I do hope the new owners re-instate it.
This Vietnamese bakery makes average tiger bread rolls and it's not the same as the one a few doors down on the same road. Quite disappointing.
Without question one of the best bahn mi places in Melbourne. Perfect balance of all ingredients inside a tiger roll, plus crunchy pork crackle. The staff are friendly, the service is great and quick. I always visit Tabac for lunch, whenever I'm in the area.
Our favourite bahn mi place. Always consistently good, crunchy and doesnt give me a headache unlike other bahn mi shops which puts too much MSG in their sauces.
The best Bahn mi I’ve ever eaten - perhaps the best THING I’ve ever eaten!
We got the crunchy roast pork roll - I often can’t finish a whole roll - I polished it off and wanted more! The bread itself was phenomenal. I regret not grabbing some extras to take home.
Be careful.they over charge you hoping you won't notice when you tap your efpos card. I had to go back intonthe shop when i got the notification on the phone and ask for my money back.they use the same tongs for the vege, meats (pork/beef and chicken). Port roll was not very good.better to just walk a few shops down to Bun Bun.won't go there again
This used to be the cleanest Bahm Mi place in Springvale, but since the new owners have taken over the benches/work area has been disgusting every time we've been in.
Food and mess everywhere!
The rolls are wet and get covered in fillings while they're being made.
They've also stopped using the tiger bread that made the rolls so good!
Don't think we'll be back again.
The roast pork and beef rolls a very good in my opinion, the roll itself is a tiger roll. Don't understand why people would line up for bread rolls a few doors down (bun bun) which is not many better.
The tiger bread is unique and crispy. Carrots could be more pickled and more pate. Overall a good banh mi and they haven’t raised their prices ridiculously high like some other stores.
The banh mi here is great, they have the Chinese roast pork with crackling (their competitor down the street doesn’t). Really fresh bread and everything in it is really flavourful in one bite! Make sure to ask for chilli for the extra bit of kick. A nice little family run bakery.
Hands down, my fave crispy pork roll of all time. Well balanced, pate has good flavour, pork is succulent, sauce evenly spread and the tiger skin rolls is perfect
Never gatekeeping the BEST bahn mi in town at Tabac! I'm obsessed with their crispy pork rolls with tiger bread that it's hard not to order an extra one for the next day.
The tiger bread is made fresh every day at this bakery so its always crispy on the outside and soft inside. Their fresh chilli is quite spicy, so I'd hold off if you can't handle your spice.
But honestly, save your time waiting long lines elsewhere, because Tabac is where it's at.
