Great theater with nice vibes and comfy seating. Also, the concessions are not ridiculously priced

A great, old-school, atmosphere in a trendy part of town. One of my favourite places to watch cinema.

Best cinema experience you can get. Serve alcohol as well as the usual snacks. Each visit is exciting as each cinema is completely unique and unlike any other.

Nice comfortable theatre. The alignment of the projector was a bit off at the start of the movie but they fixed it within 30 min

Its a lovely cinema, parking is fine and most of the latest movies are shown. Plus some nice cafes or restaurants nearby.

The Sun is a shining jewel. A cunningly restored heritage cinema now boasting multiple theatres that range from intimate lounges with leather chairs and "couples couches" to a traditional theatre with 90mm projectors it offers a perfect movie experience. Enjoy a wine and a fancy choc top with your show. Offers everything from family flicks and blockbusters to art house and foreign language films. My absolute favourite place to see a talkie. Ask about accessability before booking as some theatres may be difficult to reach.

It's feel like secret garden at night. All beautiful light and restaurant around. Make people feel so relax and peaceful.

Great vibe for low key movie night. Nice wide chairs and licensed venue too. Not too many teenagers which is great.

Great experience, taking covid seriously, still providing a top rate cinema experience. Not to mention the choc tops, amazing selection!

Beautiful venue to watch any movie in. Each theatre has different numbers in seating from small (30) to large (100s). Originally built when art deco was the rave and has been brilliantly restored back to original. Perfect for families, couples, old friends or on your own. Warm atmosphere plus the candy bar even serves wine if that takes your fancy. After the movie there are an enormous number of restaurants and cafes to choose from right on their door. Great night out guaranteed!

My local cinema. Quite a few different cinema rooms, different sizes. You can even take on alcohol purchased on site and delicious choc tops!

Wonderful Art Deco cinema with a great selection of films, special viewing events, enthusiastic and passionate - all topped off with the best homemade choc tops! What’s not to like?

After going to the Sun Theatre for the last 3 years, I'll never step foot in a commercial cinema-chain again. The Sun has become my cinema of choice:
» Ticket and food prices are affordable and much cheaper than the big cinema chains (especially if you visit on Mondays; Tuesday)
» Easy to book tickets online to secure your preferred seats.
» Popcorn and choc-tops are made in-house, which means they're fresh and tasty!
» Each cinema has a unique atmosphere and is very cozy. I love the plush seats and mini-tables. My favourite cinemas are the Grand and the Regent.
» Pizza D'asporto (for a pre-movie meal) and the Sun Bookshop (for a pre-movie browse) are conveniently located next door.
» Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
» Abundance of parking near and around the building.

A visit to the Sun Theatre redefines the cinema 'experience'.

Good Seats, Tickets are a good price, But there are a few items in the snack bar that are like 5 times the price you could get it at a local service station.

A lovely old theatre! The sound was nice and loud, and the seats are comfy with plenty of leg room.
We joined the queue that went out the door for a while, only to realise later that we could've gone straight through because we'd already purchased our tickets online.

Great cinema. Very comfortable seats and good view of the screen without having to strain your neck. Very nice amenities too. Shame about the front of house service though. Very abrupt and insisted on separating my friend and I despite there being a spare seat next to each other. I assumed this was social distancing rules but it would have been nice if the policy was explained, at least, instead of talking to us like we were naughty schoolgirls.

One of the most rustic cinema taking you back to a bygone era. We watched 'The Father' staring Anthony Hopkins (Best Actor 2021) deliver an incredibly moving experience of someone with Dementia. Brilliant!

The service quality and the excellent prices is the best thing about this legacy establishment in the West Melbourne region. The screen quality and seat comfort level may not be on par with the typical multiplex but this charming theatre will always draw me here regularly.

One of the best cinemas in the west. The prices here are very much reasonable, if not the cheapest you’ll find for a multi screen cinema.

The atmosphere is very warm, and it doesn’t feel like a soulless franchised corporate cinema #366172.

The confectionery isn’t too expensive, which is always a plus.

Overall, I would highly recommend it over other cinemas, especially nearby
