Stomping Ground Brewery & Beer Hall reviews
87Big. Loud. Fun. Fantastic atmosphere, a huge beer hall full of people enjoying themselves. Nice selection of home made beers. Recommended.
A brewery is no place for a 2 year old birthday party. We were moved from tables twice, to accomodate reservations for a 2 and 5 year old party. It's a BREWERY! There's so many other options in Melbourne so I won't be coming back. Shame because the beers are quite good.
I chose to hold my 40th birthday at Stomping Ground Brewery and was so thrilled with the venue (booked out the private deck area), the food (so much choice and so delicious), the drinks (great choice of beer and wine), and all the staff on the day (so helpful and lovely).
I would highly recommend this venue for your party/celebration. Rachael was fantastic to work with in the lead up to the party, communication was great, and she helped guide me through the preparations to make the day go perfectly.
There were so many compliments from my guests about the space, food and drinks. Thanks again Stomping Ground!
Beer great and lovely ambience. A good place for families to spend a few hours on the weekend.
Wait staff are so grumpy though. Left a fair bit of our meal as it wasn't particularly nice (perhaps we ordered the wrong thing) and the waiter came up and said "what's the deal with this? " rather than "can I take your plate" or whatever. We watched another waitress see a toddler walking towards her but rather than step aside, she internationally walked in to him and had a face like a smacked.
Perhaps they'd all been on the staff beer the night before!
Beer: good
Atmosphere/decor etc: great
Food: below average
Staff: very grumpy
BBQ sausage was nice, however, chickpeas were really hard and dressing tasted like a tonne of raw cumin powder - completely inedible.
Halloumi dish was good, as expected. Can't really go wrong with that.
Nice place with great open atmosphere. The beer was good too.
I ordered the sausage, which is essentially a single regular sausage on some chickpeas in sauce. This cost $20. While that aspect was the only small disappointment I can't help but be a little bit impressed by anyone who can sell a single sausage for $20.
It's just average. We ordered three dishes and all of them was nothing more than a "meh". The place itself and the ambiance is lovely.
$36.00 for 300 gms scotch fillet steak without chips and lots of rockets #wtfood.let me join the #veganprotest.terrible Riot red wine but very good beers.selection galore. I guess I'll be better stick to drinking beers.
An awesome venue with excellent beer but sadly the staff let this place down. It's advertised that all bar staff are cicerones as if that's a good thing. Essentially it just means everyone behind the bar are moody and snobbish. I'd rather be served by staff who are less knowledgeable and friendly. Will still come back but the actual transaction of buying beer here is sadly not a great experience.
Had lunch here on a hot summer's day, and it was very enjoyable. Plenty of beer on offer of course, and the food was great. If you sit in the beer garden (which is beautifully done), I must warn you to watch your step on the way out!
Why are you trying so hard?
Honestly, prostituting yourself to the ‘hipster’ culture is just like a teenager going through puberty trying to impress everybody to fit in.
After being promised a good night at your venue by friends I have again been witness to a plethora of customers who are unable to smile after sampling one of your beers.
Yet somehow, despite the taste of narcissism in every beer, people continue to drink in the hopes that maybe they can attain the culture that you so desperately desire.
Please, concentrate your future efforts on creating a beer that people want to drink again.
Your venue as an idea is fantastic and could be somewhere that is talked about and celebrated amongst Melbournians, please read this as a wish not a complaint.
Yours sincerely,
A hopeful returning patron.
Absolutely awesome! We had a work Xmas breakup for 25 people and the food was exceptional. The venue, beer and brewery tour were all fabulous too. The staff were very helpful to deal with leading up to the event and on the day. We'll definitely be back.
Stumble U this place. The interior is very cosy oasis like and plenty of tables and spacious. This place offer various choice of alcoholic beverages as well as food.
This would have been a 4-5 star review except for the rude arrogant judgemental woman that started behind the bar for the late shift who actually cost the venue a lot of money when our group of 30+ people walked out for her very poor judgement of the least intoxicated person in the whole venue. The other staff actually apologised for her actions.
The attention to detail for the most casual of experiences was greatly appreciated. From the staff, food, bathroom, joinery decor. It all makes sense and fun. Thank you.
We just had our work Christmas function here and absolutely loved it! The staff were amazing, food was perfect and catered for everyone and the beers were great, such a variety.would defiantly recommend!
Great venue, top beers and knowledgeable staff. Tried the burger which was juicy and delicious. They have takeaway options and a great and varied beer selection on tap. Enjoyed it all, actually went back twice in a short time window.
Briana was amazing leading up to the event and Liz and the staff on the night of My 40th were incredibly attentive and polite. Everyone loved the venue, ambience and service and I can see myself being invited to more events there
Great potential, huge place, the beer was great, however the place is a bit impersonal with its size.
Thanks so much for a fantastic Sunday lunch! Service was amazing, food brilliant and venue superb.
Will definitely become a regular:)
