Lovely Laura made my birthday celebration amazing. She made me feel absolutely special. The wines were amazing. My favorite is the Marsanne which Laura has kindly introduced us to. I would like also thank Laura for adjusting the pace of our tasting so that we make it in time with Hop It.

We booked wine tasting at Steel Gate and it was absolutely amazing - service was fantastic with lots of information about the wine and winery. We tried all their wines and for me the winner was the Pinot Noir. We will definitely return to Steel Gate and next time I am looking forward to try their food. Good work Steel Gate team.

We chanced upon this boutique winery on the way back to Melbourne from a weekend away at Mount Buller. It was such a lovely restaurant to unwind after an activity filled weekend with beautiful winery surrounds and artistic restaurant interior.we were well taken care of upon arrival - service was warm and professional. The restaurant accommodated children which was much appreciated - our kids had colouring menus, lovely fish and chips and a generous serve of ice cream. We had the 3 course meal, and every dish was beautifully presented and delicious and worth the price. Some of us opted for the $10 wine tasting menu with our food which was such a great experience too. The Sparkling Chardonnay was a personal favourite so got two bottles home at the end of the meal. All 7 of us agreed that it was a perfect way to end our weekend. We will be back!

Excellent boutique wines! Once you visit you'll be hooked. Food is very good, service is excellent and the hosts are the best. A must visit when in the Yarra. Oh and pooches are welcomed.

Had our wedding here end November - and it’s perfect for a small intimate wedding with helpful service (shout out to brad) and great environment! It’s a very pretty yet intimate spot (not like one of those large commercial places).

We have since been back for Saturday dinner and it has a beautiful sunset in autumn. They have since changed chefs and we have tried both chefs food and we are more than satisfied with both. The new chefs food is a fine dining style- lovely presentation, great flavours and would highly recommend trying it. You won’t regret it!

They have a very much personal spot and we are already looking forward to our next visit:)

We visited Steels Gate pre-Covid when it was a relatively new winery, and it's so good to see that it has survived the pandemic and is still offering such a great experience. Brad and Matt don't try too hard, they just offer excellent food and wine in a gorgeous setting. It's smart, simple, and effective. I also particularly appreciated their natural approach to winemaking, you can definitely taste it in the wines. The cabernet sauvignon currently on offer is amazing. We'll be back)

Great winery and restaurant. We spontaneously stopped on our way to Geelong and were hoping to get some wine and food. And food and wine we got. Amazing wines and cheese platter. The restaurant building is very modern and beautiful, showing great artwork and a nice view over the vineyard.
