Steam Packet Hotel reviews
49Sadly the food here has gone downhill; it used to be highly dependable in a fluctuating food scene in Williamstown. Fish was burned and over-cooked, chilli mussels lacking any chilli but very over-salted, servings are definitely smaller. Attentive staff and good wine. Very relieved I decided not to book Christmas day lunch here.
The food we ok but nothing special. It used to be a real busy place to eat and the food side is lacking. It's a great place to get a cold beer though. It's worth a try for food though!
Truly Williamstown's hidden gem. Spectacular food as good as Daylesford in a chilled comfy local spot in a pub thats really iconically beaitiful inside.
Consistently good meals and service in the dining room, menu is varied enough to suit everyone.
Friendly welcoming pub with a warm cozy atmosphere. Food is descent. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Staff are friendly and pub is nicely laid out. Unfortunately we won't be back to eat as the salmon special serving was too small and left my partner still hungry. Fish on fish and chips were overcooked. There are better options for pub eating in the Williamstown-Newport area.
Easily the best restaurant in Williamstown. The only problem is it is getting harder and harder to get a table. Bookings are pretty much required these days. The menu changes regularly which is tough if like me you have favourite items but literally everything is mouthwatering.
Great atmosphere with a good selection of beers, the food can be a bit hit and miss, 3 friends and I all ordered the same meal and one was undercooked and one over cooked, the other two were good. Other than that it's one of the few decent pubs left in Williamstown.
The event I attend here is great, but breakfast is ordinary- despite the staff being lovely and all.
