State Theatre reviews
57To many steps, not enough doors to get out of the theater to the foyer. Incredibly uncomfortable seating.
Always love this theatre- beautiful glamorous venue, however it's not very disabled or elderly friendly. Too many steps within the theatre. I was told recently while purchasing tickets to a show. Plans are in motion soon for renovations to this theatre.
First time at State Theatre. Very much enjoyed Evita the musical. Comfortable seating and good view of the stage
Took my dad and his partner to see Evita. Dad's in a wheelchair. Had to pay for the premium seats. The staff were so attentive, polite, helpful. Venue extremely well set up. Regardless of whether you're paying premium prices or not service was exceptional. Good access to disabled toilets, carpark a little squished but we managed easily. Well done guys!
Evita. Tina Arena brilliant, threads of accurate history pervade the plot, review the era prior and the enjoyment will be greater.
Such a beautiful venue.
Evita was so good. Tina Arena is a great performer. I admire her achievements, her voice is brilliant.
Not good for disabled, steps to navigate, staff tremendously helpful and quick to assist and the seating is ok, however the aisles are way too long for easy entry or egress.
Great Staff, looking wonderful after all these years. A seat refurbishment would make it perfect. Melbourne at it's best!
First time visiting this place, having been to other events elsewhere in the Arts Centre. Nice setup, very helpful staff from the entrance to the seat plus an excellent performance of Evita. No pics due to camera ban.
Took my mother-in-law to see Evita for her birthday. We both absolutely loved it. Tina Arena was magnificent as Eva Per'on and the rest of cast was fantastic as well!
Look, it really depends on where you are seated here. The State Theatre is massive - so if you are stationed in the nose bleed section you probably won’t see much, but the sound quality is great everywhere.
The venue is perfect, the production of Evita sublime and the customer service second to none. The Arts Centre precinct that includes the State Theatre is second to none.
A true Melbourne Gem. Built in 1984 holds 2400 ppl. Very plush & such great seating no matter where sit.
What a magical theatre! We were up in the "nose bleeds" so to speak and still could see perfectly! Loved it
Wondetful theatre.world class.interior finishings havent dated.always look like it was built "yesterday". Congratulations to all concerned.in all, a wonderful entertaining precinct.
Beautiful venue but our tickets were in the dress circle to the side so we couldnt see the video playing on the screen above the show. Disappointing
Haven't been here for years, but really enjoyed the performance here, the seats were comfortable and the view was amazing.
