Bureaucrats period. They, like all Public Servants (what.serving the public?), are brainwashed past being human and fail to understand that policies and targets, assessments and taxation bands often put normal working people under financial stress. Personally, in Victoria, the most taxed state in Australia, these bureaucrats make our lives slaves to payments, and taxation schedules that are unfair and exploitative. Trying to get ahead in Victoria is joke, for the SRO will always find a tax to kill off your inspiration and dreams of working to be more successful. Thank you:)

Had a call with Jackie from SRO regarding land tax, it’s was very unpleasant how she talked to the clients.
UNHELPFUL and very RUDE. Not happy with your service.

Absolutely rude, sarcastic and don't care attitude from SRO representative. My simple query of receiving an individual assessment for the first time in 6 years was dealt with utter unprofessionalism. Their IVR says to be polite to the agents and no tolerance for any rude behaviour, however I sincerely believe that this applies to SRO itself and all the telephone operators in SRO should listen to that IVR and also need a proper training regarding manners and how to talk.

Just had an absolutely disgusting phone call with someone at SRO. They were rude and extremely difficult to understand. The SRO needs a serious overhaul. Disgusting treatment of people like me paying a high amount of tax. I’m furious at how I was spoken to. I’m entitled to discuss my situation and the phone call prelude clearly states to speak kindly to their staff- what about speaking kindly to us! How unprofessional and disgusting. Australian gov has gone too far

Outrageous. I'm simply trying to build a house. I cant help that it took the council 413 days to issue the planning permit, then it will take about 2 more years to build given the way things are at the moment. Meanwhile builder has slugged us with price rise while we waited for council. Now I get hit with $4.5K land tax bill. Already paid last years at $3.7K.as if im trying to make money out of the land or something! This stupid tax must go.

Land Tax, what a load of rubbish. Currently building a house in which will be our PPR once complete but charged land tax even though it’s in the building process, you should be ashamed of yourself. Australians are doing it so tough at the moment yet the governments incompetence in managing money is resulting in every scam under the sun to fleece money from hard working peoples pockets. Your a disgrace and embarrassment to everyone doing the hard yards just to try and survive, and hence this is why people can’t stand our current government. Get a clue and stop running this country into the ground.

I’m not sure it’s a good idea essentially extorting money from tax payers trying to self fund their retirement while providing shelter for the very people the government fails to provide for, in order to pay these departments that are staffed only with poorly trained people who have terrible customer service skills and no desire to serve the very people they’re extorting.

I know the government love to mismanage money but if we sack these entire departments who achieve little to nothing, then exorbitantly high taxes won’t be required to then waste on individuals performing extremely poorly.

The person I spoke with on the phone couldn’t even explain or justify the bill I received, offered no help or solutions, offered no information, added zero value for the extortion tax that goes to paying these individuals to not be helpful. You should all be sacked immediately.

This is terrible department, each customer care person talks entirely different procedures, and finally they are earning don’t know whom to complain about these people, many people are not happy with this department should be REFORMED to gain the confidence of people,

We recently got forwarded some letters received at our old address which included a land tax assessment from 6 months ago. I thought it was going to be a real hustle getting it withdrawn. But it turned out to be super easy. I just registered on the SRO website, updated my address and applied for an exemption, then the assessment was instantly withdrawn. Great to see some efficiency at the government! Well done!

I had the opportunity to speak to two different representatives of SRO and I could not be any happier with the courteous way in which both calls were handled. The guidance and help received was very much appreciated.

I still have not received a response to my objection to Land Tax lodged in May 2022. Our Land Tax increased significantly in 2016 and has been rising ever since due to Labour Government. We need a change of government to change this unjust valuation process and how it is dealt with by the relevant government departments.

Sending documents to them by post. Get an response within 10 days as promised. Were asked to provide extra documents for the application. And all documents were included in the initial submission! Feel like they are just trying to postpone every single payment to you. Unsure if it is other way round, will they be lazy like this

I am one of the MANY Melbourne LT payers who apparently must pay LT even through Melbourne is in lockdown, so NO through the door business.
Seems VERY unfair THEFT to me!

If there was a minus 5 star review that is what I would give this useless organization.they have supplied incorrect information time and time again to Business Victoria during COVOD_19 and cost me grants that our small business was entitled to.
