St Georges Motor Inn reviews
70Great hotel. Comfortable. Spa is incredible. Only issue is the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours.
Clean and comfortable. Freshly renovated bathrooms. Convenient location. Easy onsite parking. Friendly service. Was a last minute booking and we were able to be accomodated. Would happily stay there again
Your very own urban Castle!
Great service.
My 'friendly ghosts' of haunted lovers-past
wander in eternal, forlorn misery through those clean & well-maintained corridors.
Top location. Treat yourself.x
Heaps of parking, lovely staff, peaceful and great place to stay.
A very quick drive into town or trams run outside. Walking distance to High st Thornbury/Westgarth.
The clean rooms well serviced and the parking exists. Though the helpful and friendly staff is why for the last few years the St George's Motel is my go to place when in Melbourne.
Rob great bloke.being from the Country I recommend wheel in and kick back. David n staff make you feel welcome n comfortable Great people Lovely manners otherwise drop $250 and stay at the Crown.
Terrible, very rude staff, I was booked for a further 5 days and they breached my privacy packing up my belongings for absolutely no reason, upon hospital calling to ask a simple question I was assured my belongings would be safe and it is illegal for them to touch them and that they'd been asked to hold the room until my belongings could be collected, I was still yet to notify them I had to leave early and had organised for my things to be collected asap, they stole some of my belongings and waisted all my fresh food I'd just paid for whist being homeless and cannot even explain what they have done, where all my food is or where my stolen belongings are. I now have no phone charger, no toileties, over $200 of make up and jewellery stolen, $200 cash stolen and all my food whilst homeless even now cannot even wash my hair cause of these people, these people have 0 compassion, I don't even have corona and they discriminated and kicked me out without a single word to me all cause the doctor asked them a simple question in regard to my care, I never said I was leaving early I went to do so as finding out my belongings had been stolen, I had barely any clothes cause of DV now I have even less thanks to these calous theives. I now have no clean clothes whilst homeless because of their carelessness. These are exceptional times and these people have no compassion and understanding for this or anything else let alone homelessness and DV. When asked where my missing belongings are and asked why they thought they had a right to enter my room to touch and go through all my belongings, I was immediately abused and they refuse to answer me, they act like they own everyone's in the hotels belongings and have stolen so many people's items they aren't even sure what's mine anymore.
Had room booked but upon arrival was fronted by the owner who was extremely aggressive and abusive I left frightened and shaken I would never recommend anyone especially a single female stay there he threatened me and then kicked my bags out the door while abusing me I had booked a single room but had a friend with me to carry my luggage and make sure I was safe checking i do not allow any homeless or domestic violence emergency service book u into the place u are safer on the streets
Room was great - clean and very spacious. Kindly waited until very late to give us a key - will be staying there again
The service was EXCELLENT apart from a 10 minute wait for reception on a Thursday afternoon. Rooms are very clean & bathroom was exceptionally clean
though very lacking in toiletries. TV Reception not the best though manageable. (I had to put it on the floor)
A microwave in the room would of been very welcome also.
4 star recommended & well earned. Thanks, for the comfortable and peaceful environment.

I stayed in a place only for couple of hours Excellent attitude from the receptionist he was so kind and gentleman
Me and my partner loved the place Comfy bed, nice and secure and the shower was also lovely every thing was so clean
If one is sensitive to rooms smelling like cigarette smoke, noisy traffic and noise from neighboring rooms - this may not be the right accommodation for you. Otherwise, price, location and parking ok. Staff were accommodating with an early departure and quick refund.
Don't like it if you are going to stay more than one night they don't have microwave so you need more money to eat
Service at check in was professional so no complaints there. The room was clean and the sheets fresh. The car park was secure.
Unfortunately:
- there was no microwave oven
- the only kitchen utensils were 3 teaspoons
- there was a kettle, but it didn't fit under the tap to fill it with water
- despite being non-smoking the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke
- the air con was functional but very old and made a lot of noise
- drunken patrons returned early morning and had their TV on extremely loudly until a long confrontation ensued
Overall not a great experience I'm sorry to say.
Only stayed for one night. But welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. Friendly helpful staff. Very relaxed rooms, cozy and very happy with this lovely motel
This is a nice, unpretentious motel with big rooms. It’s in a handy location for the area and the rooms are quiet, even though it’s on a main road. My one concern is the junkies. They stay there and hang out in the carpark so you might not feel that safe.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff was very polite and professional. The rooms were very quiet, spacious, well layed out and hygienic. Would definitely want to stay here again given the opportunity.
Great experience at St. Georges. My prior accommodation fell through but was able to book here on the same day. Very affordable, clean, spacious rooms with everything you need. Location is perfect, just down the block from High St and tram and train stations into the inner city. Hotel has a retro feel but not outdated. Manager David was extremely helpful and understanding of my partner and mines situation, catered to our every need with care, and was even able to refund us for the latter half of our stay when we had to cut our holiday short due to unexpected circumstances. Perfect for folks on a budget! Will definitely book again if in Melbourne another time. Thanks!
Great location and outstanding service. A short walk to the heart of Thornbury, plus the tram outside for 20 min journey to the city. (If you require a microwave or toaster, simply call reception)
The room was excellent. It was clean spacious and pleasant to be in. The staff were fabulous too. Couldn't recommend more highly
