SSV Street Sound & Vision

Purchased an item online, it was listed as available, after a few days I never received a tracking number so I rang and was told my item was on back order. Was told it wasn't available when purchased but would be here in a week. Over a month later and several calls it has finally arrived. I must say that if I had have been told at the start that it would be a month I would've purchased elsewhere. This may have been a computing error but after calling several times I got the feeling I was in the wrong and i shouldn't be so impatient.

Had my sound system purchased and installed through SSV 9 years ago in my VX commodore and today just had a dashcam installed.
Both times quality products and workman ship performed and the customer service is great

I went to SSV Audio in Thomastown for the first time last week and Andrew served me and assisted with the advise of on the best Audio system for my VITO van.
The level of service and after care from the crew was absolutely fantastic.
Prices are a little higher however the support I received makes it well worth paying the money.
10 out of 10 and highly recommend SSV.

Called up this morning to ask for a adaptor plug for a aux cord for my ford guy quoted me 60 just for the plug and 60 in labour when its litterly plug in under the fuse box i called autobarn to see if they sold them and they do for 30$ and a 10$ install or he said he will show me where to plug it in for free! When I heard that I could not belive the price he gave me total scam and took advantage of me! Unbelievable

Out of any car audio store out there at the moment, the shear amount of products is insane.

I was personally intrigued about a particular Kenwood unit known as a DDX919WS which is a 200mm Toyota/Subaru specific head unit as i was told, it looked amazing and the functions are all up to date aka (Apple Carplay, Android Auto).

If only i had a Toyota to install this unit into: (

The team at SSV are a great team that know their stuff. Went above and beyond to assist me when I had so many questions and took the time to help me pick out the correct system for my vehicle with perfect installation.

Literally haven’t had a bad experience here. I’ve gone in multiple times buying bits and pieces of my sound system for my daily and every time has been pleasant. Found the staff helpful and it seemed they knew what they were talking about. They were also very grateful when I brought back a second head unit worth $700 when they accidentally gave me two of them. Speaking of the staff, I’ve dealt with Colin I think, some lady at the counter (didn’t catch her name), Andrew and Rodney. All were very easy to deal with and I haven’t had a bad shop with any of them. Maybe they’ve read these reviews and changed for the better because Rodney seems like a good bloke. I hope that they stay true to what they’re doing now and that I don’t have to update this review.

First of all,
Rodney is a absolute disgrace of a store owner/ manager. His customer service was absolutely disgraceful. I was swore at and threatened. (Not that the threats scared me in any way as I can hold my own. Especially in the case of dealing with a munchkin of a human.)
Also was given false information in regards to the stocked items I was after and after installation of some items was told to bring my car back at a later date only to pick up the items and install them myself at home.

Don't take your car, wife or children here.

Very unprofessional and rude staff.
I would never ever recommend SSV. Better to spend money somewhere else where you get service and respect.

Great service and advice. They did an excellent job of a full system installion on my pride and joy. I'm a very fussy owner and was extremely happy with the installation plus the time take to explain its operation.

I went to ssv inspite of knowing their poor review.lesson learnt.i had a very BAD experience. Very POOR customer service,
MESSY workman ship requiring me to go to another auto electrician to fix the simple issue which ssv blamed on my car and unit.

I would have normally done things myself but I thought I'd leave it to the 'professionals' but turned out to be nothing but a backyarder job! After having spent $1500+ on DLX-Z17W speakers not only were the cones snapped off to fit in the car factory tweeter space and hot glued in you would think any hardware like tweeter housings supplied with speakers not used would be passed on to the client in case they were ever removed from the car. Wiring was a mess and for the earth not even a terminal was used. 4 tek screws into the body of the car!
I will never Reccomend this place to anyone!

I can confirm, their advice was spot on and I got a major improvement to my car's sound system with just a speaker upgrade.

0 stars - Rodney the Manager is a rude angry little man. If you question Rodney over their poor work and broken promises, brace yourself for the name calling and abuse. Threatening a customer with violence if they don't leave his store while swearing uncontrollably in front of other customers and staff is unacceptable and has been experienced by many. I will take my business elsewhere

Quality service and fitment. Fitted my alarm, immobiliser and GPS tracker and fixed my ignition barrel wiring all for a great deal. Would definitely recommend to others.

They seriously need a lesson in customer service. Would be ok if there workmanship was good but after getting a car audio package including front and rear cameras installed I've been left with broken clips on my interior panels, rear view camera that burnt out and nasty feedback from my audio installation. Thank fully the guys at jbhifi fixed all of SSVs mistakes
