Spotlight Mentone

Was searching for a print that the Carnegie store did not have, so I drove to Mentone Spotlight, hoping they may have it in stock. I asked two staff members (separately) if they had any other prints in the storeroom. They both said NO immediately & seemed to prefer I just went away! Luckily I did not give up & had a chat to a lovely staff member (Celeste) who not only looked in the computer, but went & found the actual print I wanted in the storeroom! I'm so glad I did not give up after two lazy staff simply disregarded my question. I'm happy there is one great person there who actually cares about the customers. Thanks Celeste!

I had a horrible experience! I spoke to a consultant with measurements of my windows. I was given advice to purchase a specific set of block out curtains online as the store didn't have them in stock. I was concerned that the curtains might be too wide but the consultant said "no with the gathers they will be fine. And if any issues you just bring them back and so long as you have a receipt, we can refund or exchange them if they don't suit your home. "

The curtains arrived and the packaging was in terrible condition all ripped to shreds. So I threw it in the bin and put the curtains up. I realised the way the curtains were folding was too thick and getting in the way of my Venetian blinds and damaging them and the curtains were far too wide. So I took them down and tried to return them to spotlight mentone but the Manager (Sam who was extremely abrupt and rude) said they can't take it back because they are not in their 'original packaging'. When trying to explain that the packaging arrived ripped and shredded so I threw it.the Manager replied "then you need to bring the ripped packaging". I said but I threw it and the bin trucks have taken it and the lady who sold them to me didn't mention that even if the packaging arrives all ripped and shredded that you'd need to keep it to return them. She only said that "bring the curtains back with a receipt and we'll exchange them". Turns out the fine print says you need to have them in the original condition. This poor advice, mixed messaging and unwillingness to compromise when the customer has a genuine issue demonstrates appalling concern for the customer and horrible service. The Manager proceeded to say that even if the packaging is ripped we can sell it. Anyway, after I asked how to escalate this matter I was given a customer care number and now i'm waiting on an answer. This has been an absolutely horrid experience and I won't be recommending Spotlighy to anyone.

Great range of lamps and the staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. Good prices with regular discounting. You are also able to buy bulbs here as well.

Well organised store with plenty of variety and stock with friendly and helpful staff. Lots of car parking available.

Service pretty average. Signs up for discounts the day before they start and some employees didn't want to honour it.

Bought cushions, curtains, homewares. Needed larger size on blinds and they were happy to take back and up size.

It has a little more than my nearby spotlight but not as much as you would expect. Staff aren't as nice as at other stores. I'm also a little annoyed that the staff member cut my felt on a diagonal so I ended up with a lot less at one end. I would have complained to her but it was a half price sale so I didn't bother.

Huge two-storey shop with a huge range. Good selection of products with pleasant layout and comfortable lighting. The staff here are awesome and super friendly and recommend coming here. They also have household kitchen items as well.

Lots of parking available but it's busy during the weekend peak periods when everyone is next door at Aldi.

Great range but there are never enough staff on registers. I don't think I've ever waited less than 5 minutes to be served

They had what I wanted in the quantity I wanted, unlike the other Spotlight stores I called. Sam, in crafts, was very helpful in the phone and in person and I will shop there again.

I found a great throw rug, didn't realise they have wide variety of products now. Definitely recommend it as it seems reasonable than online shopping

Good selection, service was a bit rubbish.asked a young girl for directions and she couldn't be bothered.

Couldn't find exactly what we were after but they have a great range and ended picking up some other bits and bobs.

Biggest store ever! If you can't find what you need, you won't find it in any other craft store. Although staff are tired, cranky and generally seem to hate life/their jobs.

I never thought I'd ever have a reason to shop here. But craft does open a channel for creativity that building things doesn't quite provide.

Co located with other popular outlets like Bunnings, Reject shop. Spotlight has a great range of housewares, haberdashery and "knick knacks ". Good parking and helpful staff.

Hard to find prices on items.staff overworked and have to wait over 30 minutes to ask a simple question. The staff are good, just not enough of them.

Huge place but too much of it's given over to home wares compared to when I used to visit spotlight. Less selection of fabrics and wool.

I find the fabric range here really disappointing - I spent ages trying to find something to purchase, but couldn't.

Curtain order - Great initial consultation but the end service was appalling and completely rubbish. I am now on my 7th week waiting for my curtains to be fixed. No answers, no communication. Guys please be aware of this as they will give you some BS ETA on the delivery of the final product. I would NOT recommend Spotlight.
