Spotlight Mentone

Staff are not interested in helping if " that's not my area ". I get that it's not your area, but can someone help me! Numerous times I have been told this and they just walk away. Can you get someone to help me?

Spend a lot of time and money here. Good variety alrhough doesnt have everything. Usually very few staff and they are not always overly friendly but it is my favouritw Sporlight store

Staff need to smile a bit more and show some personality. Rarely need to go to the Spotlight, but when I do, it's always the same. Perhaps some training might help. Other than that, products are good

Rude staff, very inconvenient place, couldn't find anything there. Asked staff and they were so unhelpful and didn't bother.

This poor review is not about the staff who are very helpful at this store. I drove 10 kms to speak to some one in curtains, blinds and shutters in response to Spotlight’s current marketing/advertising campaign on the radio re up to 40% off…. Finishing on Tuesday. On arrival this Saturday 15/4 there was not one staff member available to assist in this area. I was told no one was rostered on. What does this say about Management and staffing? I will now go next door to Carpet Call and then Kresta. Beyond disappointing. You need to do Better Spotlight

Really big Spotlight store with everything there. Big curtain and upholstery fabric section. Big fabric section too. Great selection of crafts.

Spotlight in general is of course the one-stop place in Melbourne where you can get homewares, bedding sets, decorations, but most importantly fabrics and craft accessories. That said, the experience varies depending on how well the particular store has been kept tidy, re-organised, and re-stocked. Spotlight Mentone has always done a reasonable job at that. A good source for an affordable selection of all kinds of fabrics, though probably 80-90% are synthetic. But good for costumes and stage wear, and you can always find some gems. But if you are shopping for your wedding dress, go elsewhere.

Lia on lane 6 was super kind, helpful and patient. You can clearly see she cares for the customers.

Its a pity Management don't treat their staff better- maybe they'd stay. Not a great working environment for young people.

Omg when I visit Spotlight, the excitement overwhelms me. I love it. So much to see be proactive and become creative.
Always love the low prices, specials and looking for the bargain bins. Spotlight has an elevator although scared of heights I manage. Wool and crafts are amazing, balloons.

Large shop. Somewhat chaotically presented. Most of the things I was looking for were out of stock. Prices missing on shelves.

Purchased x1 8" and x1 10" Mondo square cake boxes with square cake bases to suit and they are fantastic quality albeit pricey, came to $14, about as much as the ingredients for the cakes but it was worth it as they were meant as gifts and the cake boxes look neat and clean.
The shop is well kept and properly stocked. I personally liked that there were enough staff around that there would be someone to help if I needed it but no one was annoyingly asking if I needed help every 5 min.
I enjoyed my shopping experience and checkout wasn't crowded with 2 staff manning the counters.

In Melbourne visiting family, Spotlight Mentone had everything I needed to make Easter Bonnets for my two Grandchildren

Tiny purchase ($6.30 plate stand) but very helpful lady staff member helped me find what I was looking for

Nice big store, I was able to get everything I needed and the staff was very helpful when I asked for assistance. I will definitely keep going back to this spotlight store.

Went to my local spotlight today having looked before I went with wanting to get a wrap dress pattern and a sewing basket. I saw both of these on the web site. Got there a huge store, no sewing baskets, and was told there are the pattern draws find the pattern yourself. Very few patterns could not find any.wrap dress. Very dissapointed will not be going back.

I stopped in quickly to update my pillows and perhaps buy a rug. I was disappointed in how limited their range and the quality of the pillows was. I bought some but will be looking elsewhere in future. I was unable to find a suitable rug. Spotlight seem to offer a little of everything without specialising on a particular area. Worth a look.

Understaffed and hard to get help. The staff that are available are very friendly, somewhat overworked. Would be good to see more people available for assistance.

Called Spotlight in Nov 2021 to arrange a quote on three custom roller blinds. Had to wait until 31 Dec 2021 for the consultant to quote me. Paid the full invoice of $800 on 6 Jan 2022 and when I called on 21 Jan 2022 to ask what was happening with the order, it hadn't been placed yet. From the first call to order blinds until installation could be FOUR months. Every time you call, minimum 15 minute wait for the call to be answered. And on one call I was given completely incorrect information. Please, avoid disappointment and delays and use ANY OTHER WINDOW FURNISHING SUPPLIER. This has been a dreadful experience.

They have a vast range of products, including cushion, cushion covers and inserts.materials by the meter. Bedding products.
