This store is one of the worst for yarn. Poor selection, staff not particularly helpful and large stock gaps. Better off heading to Port Melbourne or Moorabbin where everything is in stock.

Variety of things are available including plain cloths which can be used to make clothes. One of the best spotlight shops I have ever been.

Register girl couldn't call anyone
A lovely lady came to my help instead and she didn't work there.

Notoriously bad service at fabrics and craft sections. They act like you’re their annoyance of the day.
They don’t know their stock.
Today I asked for patternmaking paper, the lady in fabric section took me to fusings and said they are using fusing rolls for their patterns…
when I said that that’s not what you’re using for patterns she said they don’t have anything else for that… her face had a look of disdain towards me…
Then I asked the girl in the craft section what paper they have that can supplement paper for pattern - any white paper - she send me to party section for gift wrapping paper. I walked away two steps from her and saw rolls of plain white paper that would be also good for my purpose. Why don’t they use their brains to help customers? Why are they taking someone else’s position and work as sales assistants if they don’t have the slightest will to assist? Every trip to Carnegie store is like that. I hate going to that store because the same thing happens every time.

Problems with the 0 rating in customer service at the Spotlight Carnegie Store

These are the consequences: of the negative running Spotlight Carnegie and its staff: rude, unhelpful, arrogant staff, talking to each other and doing their best to avoid assisting customers.

In particular the New Store Manager Ms Naomi (who is completely unaware of previous arrangements, customer relations and the 0 rating in customer service: exhibited through her hostility verbally abusive (aggressive) and prohibited behaviours against Mrs Paola Ghiciu in combinations with Mrs Branca (extremely Aggressive). They were extremely abusive and verbally aggressive on more than one occasion. Following Ms Elizia.
Ms Branca & Ms Elizia both exhibited uncontrolled behaviour inclusive of both yelling and screaming whilst being verbally abusive in coordination with Ms Naomi who is the current Store Manager.
Any time that I have been in person to finalise payments, no one is attending the party counter. Young members are inexperienced, therefore they cannot assist the client: resulting in a loss of time, delays in payments and other deals; which cannot be finalised due to lack of responsibilities, and following hostility exhibited by Ms Branca, Ms Elizia and Ms Naomi.
These individuals should not be in customer service positions: they require professional assistance to solve their personal problems linked with poor interactions, and social intellectual issues.

I would be very careful about shopping in this store and stay away from them and the other females of similar nationality as Ms Branca, Ms Elizia, and the other colleague of the same nationality.
SINCE THE NEW STORE MANAGER Ms NAOMI CAME ON the SCENE THERE ARE NOT DISPLAYED PRICE on the Items.
I do not trust prices as they do not mark down items either.

They do not care about the clients.just and only about the money.
I was feeling unwell, the sales assistant Named Vesna was extremely pushy and controlling and wanted me to pay, on the spot. While I was in the urge to attend the ladies.
Of course I told her off.
They are lazy, also there are NOT trolleys or any shopping baskets.

Lucky that I have already lodged a complaint with the State Manager!

I definitely I won't attend this particular store for any other purchase

Been in a few times, and although it is well stocked, sometimes locating what you want is difficult. Unfortunately, finding staff to help is even trickier. The staff that are there are lovely, but clearly stretched too far.

If I could give them a minus, I would.
No customer service.
Rude, unhelpful, arrogant staff, talking to each other and doing their best to avoid assisting customers.
No trolleys and hardly any shopping baskets.
Difficult to find what you're looking for.

Our local Spotlight. Well stocked with all sorts or stuff. On a recent visit with my wife, I was surprised that she knew where everything was. Then again maybe I shouldn't have been.

The only reason I didn't give them 1 star is because they do have a wide variety of fabrics and other products that are pretty good quality and I've been able to sew some nice stuff with it. But seriously, never ever use their click and collect service. I ordered and it was supposed to be collected in 4 hours. I waited past the 4 hours and when I rang the bell no one came for ages. Finally someone did and when I asked they were like oops no one was doing it sorry. Then I had to wait another half an hour for someone to get my order slowly. In that time I could've just found the stuff I wanted myself. They seemed unremorseful and just in general didn't care at all. Pretty terrible customer service.

I love the shop. It's a shame the old ladies are rude, unhelpful and have no compassion. I tried to return something and they basically told me we can't and walked off with other customers.
? Left me standing there at service desk. Sort this out. Your staff need training for customer service skills. OR hire people with heart.

Took my parents to Spotlight Carnegie this afternoon to purchase a sewing machine. They were seeking assistance from someone who was seemingly the “manager” of the department. If that’s the manager I strongly urge Spotlight to reconsider the staff it promotes. The customer service was appalling. She was reluctant to provide assistance, refused to answer questions and suggested she would only assist if we were intending on purchasing the sewing machine. Do better Spotlight.

I find Spotlight's business model interesting. It seems to be "Do everything as cheaply as possible". It's great if you're looking for something cheap, but not so good if you're looking for quality, customer service, or attention to detail. At the end of the day it's your call.
Some of the stuff is decent, and some will fall apart quickly. Some staff members care about their job and helping customers, some don't. That said, shopping in store is infinitely better than online (hence 2 stars) and don't even think about using their call centre.

Terrible customer service. They are keeping faulty stocks in the store. I have purchased a butter cream that's expired 1 year ago, and went there to return same day, I did not have the receipt, but I showed them my bank transaction. The reaction from the manager was unacceptable. She kept questioning me where she should apologize and refund. She is rude and doesn't have manager qualities.

Was looking to by a couch but when l heard their furniture was manufactured in Malaysia put me off. On line reviews were not favourable!
