Spice of India Restaurant reviews
71 Finally dined here and wish I'd been every other time I'd gone to Daylesford over the years. Highly recommend the Kadai Chicken.
I wish this was my local Indian restaurant.
Recommend booking as there isn't a huge amount of seating available.
Happens to visit beautiful daylesford city
Came across Spice of india restaurant on the way
Food and service was exceptional specially food was delicious
Hat's of to the chef for preparing authentic Indian cuisine
Must visit place
Wow the food was amazing, everything was 10 out of 10. Highly recommended. Well done and thankyou for the great quality!
It was really delicious as we demolished the food. Spice level was authentic and it was overall flavourful!
A must visit place for Indian food when visiting Daylesford. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We ordered Paneer Tikka masala, Daal Tadka and Vegetable Korma. The spice level of the dishes was as per our tastebuds, freshly prepared and was flavoursome. There is a wait time after ordering food, which was already communicated to us in advance. We had a great time and enjoyed our dinner.
Highly recommend.
I came up from Melbourne for the weekend and wasn’t too sure how this would be, but it was brilliant. Probs one of the best Indian I’ve had, so tasty and satisfying. Thanks!
Beautiful location and ambiance. Great service by the lady followed by amazing food. Loved every dish we tried. Genuinely priced. Definitely ll visit again. Highly recommended.
We decided to have dinner here tonight. Picked this over the other Indian restaurant in town.
Our Tandoori chicken entree had a long dark hair entwined in the last piece that we ate. Pointed it out to the staff (Aditi) who was apologetic.
Rest of dinner. Goat Rogan Josh and Eggplant Potato, Naan and Roti were nice.
The reason for the low stars and overall poor experience is that when I paid I realized that they actually charged us for the entree dish with hair. I questioned the staff about it but she pretended as if I was talking Greek. It would have been nice that as a goodwill gesture they not charge for that particular item.
Am giving one star because the food was actually nice.
Needless to say I will never be returning and based on my experience tonight I do not recommend. Should have gone to the other Indian restaurant.
Happened to visit this place recently. One of the very few places open in Daylesford for a late dinner. The place was quite empty as expected for a regional place on a rainy weekend. The service was great and food too. Prices were very nominal. They had great variety of options to pick from. Definitely recommended
Delicious food … was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint. Reasonable prices and the staff are very friendly.
We got 8 dishes for $99 will definitely return if we’re in the area
Thank you
Love coming here, never had a bad meal and have tried lots of things on the menu. Great vegetarian options. We like coming with our friends and family whenever we feel like Indian, they all love it
A great surprise in Dalesford with excellent food. We love good quality, homemade Indian food and Spice of India was exactly the high quality we love. We had goat vindaloo which was perfectly mild and balanced. All our dishes were. Very friendly and professional staff and very clean and well appointed.
One of the best meals I've had in over 50 years enjoying indian cuisine. The goat vindaloo was perfect and my wife's lamb korma was delicious. Coconut rice, raita, naan and mango chutney all combined for a great meal. The service was friendly and efficient, 5 stars!
Zero authenticity in flavours of India. Long wait times. Expensive but the quality is not there. Ordered a chicken Briyani served with a kind of Pulao. $$without quality. Do not recommend.
Food is not upto expectation. Chicken Biriyani and Goan Fish Curry was a disaster. Also food portions are very small.
Food was great, we had a good time here. I think they could do with putting a youngster on waiting though, we were left alone a lot. We would have ordered more drinks/ desserts but after waiting 25 mins we just rang the bell, paid up and left.
Very friendly service! Our server was polite and helpful. The food was tasty but could have been fresher and slightly more flavourful - that being said it was definitely not a bad experience, we would visit again when in town and recommend anyone stop in for a tasty meal!
Amazing food, the goat korma and butter chicken were especially good. Venue was gorgeous. Wait staff friendly!
Really great quality of food with excellent friendly service and ambiance. Out door sitting is great option in summers! We really enjoyed
A truly lovely dining experience. Very courteous staff, great selection of vegetarian options, excellent portion sizes and beautifully prepared meals (fresh ingredients, not oily, perfectly spiced). The paneer makhani was amazing! Sitting by the fire was perfect on a chilly Friday night. Thanks so much, would definitely visit again!
