Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks - Fitzroy (at The Catfish)

I have not had a Philly cheese steak in the USA but the one at Sparrows was tender, cheesy and very tasty. The range of craft beers available was excellent and I enjoyed each of the 3 beers I had from the tap selection. A bit grungy but the beer and food was good value.

Great food, been here over a dozen times. Travel across town for the Monday night Philly cheesesteak and chips special. Would recommend going here for any occasion.

Great cheese steak, comparable to any you would get Stateside! Been around the world a couple times, and this was the best I’ve had outside the USA!

Really disappointed that not only have the prices gone up, they now charge $2 just for sauces.

And the fries were cold.

Proper Philly cheesesteaks. They could be fresh out of Pennsylvania. The pretzels are great comfort food. The staff are lovely. We've occasionally had issues with getting the wrong food through ordering services, but this is definitely a fine place to eat in. There are steps up to the inside of the Catfish, and more up to the kitchen, so people with mobility issues that prevent them getting up steps will have trouble getting in to order.

Ate a cheese steak and cheese fries here last night, the entire meal was cold, the cheese was congealed and the "steak" was basically mince meat. Straight trash would not recommend

Don’t order through uber eats! My delivery driver just sat in his car for over 10 minutes without contacting me or following the simple delivery instructions I had written, and then cancelled the order. There were multiple car parks available cause I could see him from my balcony. He’s probably eating my food as I type. I usually love the food but this experience has ruined my opinion of Sparrow’s.

Really cool little place. You need to head straight through the bar on the first floor to the kitchen in the back. They have an eat in special on Monday. Also do takeaway, chicken wings, pumpkin pie and vegetarian options. Wait seems to be around 10-15 minutes.

Picked up a delicious takeaway from here, ready in 10 mins. Great Philly cheesesteak, standard, meat that melts in your mouth. Will try with mushrooms next time. Loved the pumpkin pie with cream, very decadent - best I’ve found in Melbourne.

A friend turned me onto these things a while back and I'm hooked. If you're looking for greasy, delicious food.then go no further. So tasty

2 regulars double cheese is win. Don't stop what your doing guys and gals. I am a loyalist, you got me for life. I used to have to travel from Texas to Philadelphia. 45mins to Fitzroy is way closer from my home here.

Onion rings are huge as well as the portion of the French fries.

It can be very misleading as you will first be greeted with the sight of the bar and the actual restaurant is all the way inside. There are barely in-house seats, and ordering from here is mainly take-away.
