That's really a nice experience. Those who are interested about the gold mining history in Ballarat, must visit this place once.
What an amazing place and history. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, great to see volunteers dressed in costumes of that time. Nice food and service at the at the restaurant.
It is good and very informative about history of gold but not very interactive though. If you are there for Sovereign hill then there is no point leaving this behind. Price is included in the Sovereign hill ticket. Go to museum first then Sovereign hill otherwise it could feel little bit boring. Sovereign hill and museum are opposite to each other.
It's like stepping back in time. Try your hand at panning for gold. Take the tours on offer to absorb the history of the place. The people who show you around and do the jobs there. The farrier.the wheelwright.candlemakers. All do fantastic jobs and so interesting to talk to. Full of knowledge. You need a whole day to visit the site and to take in all the displays. Excellent value for money.
Visited for the winder wonderlights festival and it lived up to all expectations! Was absolutely fabulous
Amazing and unforgettable experience.
Nice and beautiful architecture on the site, looking originally from the ancients periods.
Also it has a beautiful playground inside and electronic car charger outside on the Carpark next to the entrance.
Great day out however if we had of known the tickets were valid for 2 days we would have stayed over night. Also the cost on the internet on the web page was very different to at the gate.
I love sovereign Hill! It's such an intersecting place to visit! I really I joy visiting Sovereign Hill!
The paid underground shows are not really underground and didnt live up to the expectations. The stage show was great for the kids as a break in the middle of the day
Awesome place to visit if you want to experience 19th century Ballarat at the height of the gold rush.
Sovereign Hill is a great fun family day out, there's so much to see and the tours are great for information on the history of ballarat and the gold rush, even some of the buildings there are original from that time. It's great for the kids and the adults too, something for everyone. And a bonus of quite a few places to get food from sit down restaurant style to cafe style and a bakery.
What an amazing place! The depiction of the old times is really amazing! Would love to visit this place again one day! Highly recommended:)
Very good staff interesting information. Well guided tours. Also wheelchair support for older people who can't walk for a very long time
Real ancient factory, real people (volunteer), with new face to every tourist. Great space to stay, we stay only 3 hrs, it is totally not enough, suggest stay 5hours, hope can come again.
We had a g8 day here.lots of interesting things to see, different tours of mining, will go again to see some of the things we didn't get time to see. Kids ll definitely love dis place. Totally different n pleasant view. But little expensive tickets.
