South Melbourne Market Dim Sims reviews
53I love south Melbourne market dim sims they are super tasty and will leave your mouth salivating and wanting more and will fill the whole in your stomach perfect for any occasion or even as a snack set in the heart of south Melbourne
It taste very disgusting for me. One bite and I nearly vomits. No no no. Plus the size of food is look unappetizing.
I gave them 5 just because of the memories of my Aussie mates. Yeah, deep-fried food whoever can resist in the childhood. They always say this is the best in South Melbourne.
I had a dim sim and a spring roll.
The dim sim tastes like a Chinese meat ball in a wonton skin. The texture of the filling is so dense you can play ping pong with. The dough itself is not crispy but plastic.
The spring roll is a big no no or a huge joke. The stuffing is mushy or even runny. I’ve never had any spring roll like this ever.
I would not bother going back again.
I’ve been coming here since I was a child and my mum came here when she was a child, no one can beat their delicious dim sims. Add a little soy sauce and sriracha and they’re perfect! Don’t forget to get a potato cake with chicken salt as well:)
I used to work here. They pay me 12$ an hour. Fair work Australia should investigate this business. They taking advantage of international students.
This is not proper Chinese or even asian dim sum. Had 2 bites and threw it out. Worse sausage roll I've ever had in my life. I don't understand the high reviews (probably from people who have never had actual dim sum). Also the server corrected my pronunciation of dim sum (and he was not Asian). Don't even bother trying; not worth $2.50.
After years of saying I wanted to visit I finally did.
Great dim sims from the original shop, was awesome
What's happened to the spring rolls too much pepper, wouldn't bother going back so disappointing
Well well, I couldn’t believe my luck, I moved from Melbourne to Port Macquarie, I my biggest want since moving here is not being able to have a STH Melbourne Dim Sim, then to my surprise walk into Coles in Port and spotted the Dimmies in the fridge, Fantastic, I’ve had three bags already
Its taste like a over Priced Marathon Dim Sim just 3 x the size and 10 x the price.what's all the fuss about if you what to try a real Dim Sim try Jimmy Wong's in Footscray
They are the best dim sims in the world you should try them and you will be hooked over all i rate them a 6 out of 5 they are amazing and i love them and you will to i don't see how they are only rated 3.7 and hopefully if you have them you will rate them 5 stars to once you have them to
Oh yeh, places are opening up and I’m our to explore as much as possible. Fabulous to try the dim sims at the South Melbourne Market on a Saturday which frankly, struggles to do social distancing.
Two dim sims mead plenty. At $2.50 each that was quite a meal. Service was fast and staff friendly.
Look forward to coming back.
If these things had any more MSG loaded into them then you would be at serious risk of dying from dehydration. THIRSTY is not the word.
Dim Sims good and always return for these, spring rolls full of cornflour slurry. Needs more bite. Service airways pleasant!
Ordered myself one fried and steamed dim sum and I prefer the fried one better albeit being less healthy than the latter. The fried skin makes the meat taste better because the meat fillings were really salty, and I mean really. Forced myself to finish both but were feeling real thirsty after which. Good to try with a friend or two because one might not be able to finish one by himself given how salty it is. It’s still quite popular though so I guess it’s a personal preference on how salty you can accept your food to be. Service was good and prompt.
Fantastic dim sims and spring rolls. Super crunchy, chewy and tasty. Highly recommended. Can see why it's a local favourite.
Had 1 grand final day 1st time in years I was very disappointed found it nothing like the ones i remember from the 80s it was hard in the centre and tasteless also very salty and peppery tasted more like the no brand ones at the supermarket but quadruple the price They were great when they were made at the market Now they are Mass produced
Still have it! Since they grew so huge I assumed they wouldnt be as good as I remembered when I was a kid. Dim Sims great peppery punch! And something you can really gnaw on! Spring rolls worth a try too!
Tried dim sim for the first time here and couldn’t finish it. Never going to try again here.dim sim and spring roll were very SALTY, rough texture in and out.
Had better dim sims from petrol stations!
Pricy too!
Tried the dimsims and the spring roll. They were both extra salty. I couldn’t finish any of them. Not a good price either.
