It's a great spot but the menu and food could use some work. It gets really busy so it's understandable they cut some corners in the kitchen. From a chef perspective. But imo they have room to improve. However. The spot is great and overall it's nice.

Sofia restaurant in Melbourne, Australia, left me thoroughly disappointed with their management. Their strict policy of not allowing patrons to use the seating area, even after purchasing food, was utterly frustrating. The way they conveyed this rule was unprofessional and tactless, adding to the negative experience. To compound the issue, the quality of the food, with the exception of the ice cream, was well below par. It's evident that both the management and the food need substantial improvement to meet even the most basic customer expectations

Such an idiotic management I never saw in Australia Melbourne they will say on face that not to sit in the sitting area even if we buy food over there and the way they say is like stupidity anyway except ice cream food is below average.

Food was absolutely fresh and beautiful, everything was nice and clean, it was a cold night and the heaters were on and it was lovely and warm. As for the staff look after them as they are a great bunch of friendly and very helpful people.

Amazing food and great ambiance to be with our loved ones. The beautiful view of the beach makes the whole dining experience a memorable moment!

Parking was good, service was not too bad. The young girl serving was very pleasant and tried hard. The food was, well, let say I won’t be going back. Chicken was terrible and was swimming in a sauce that basically a sweet chilli soup. Very un satisfying.

Food was too good. The ambience is just perfect. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to have good food with a great view.

So much potential for this place. Sadly very disappointed in the food, salad wilted and old, Chicken Parma was soggy and tasted reheated and general atmosphere wasn't the best, cleanliness of restaurant wasn't good either. Service wasn't too bad. Won't be back.

Good food, good service. Disappointing to not be able to see the bay from a beachfront business. Also ironic to be served Pepsi in Coca Cola glasses.

Booked an outdoor table, got put in a dirty plastic tent.asked for water TWICE got served nothing. Food was average at best.

Love, love, love this place. Best calamari and the prices are excellent!
The people are always friendly and the food comes out quickly. I have been here many times and every time, they give excellent customer service bravo!

Good food and the service was good only reason for the missing star was front door is kept open so gets very cold inside and required everyone to wear their jackets to try and stay warm.

Had the Pesto Gnocci with Chicken in a take away serve. Decent serve and very tasty.
It is also located at a nice spot by the water. Would definitely recommend.

Afew hiccups but over all 5 stars. We haven't been in awhile as the food standard had dropped. But wow, the mussels were AMAZING. Steak cooked to perfection. Its once again our go to place.

I have four children, all of who went to Banyan Fields P/S in Carrum Downs, and now all these kids are growing, I have looked everywhere for a cheaper option, as our children have been handing down his primary uniforms to his sisters, who, although we did a very expensive shop last year for the girls, there are items that they are desperately needing! I would really like to find the cost of items so I know what to get when I get in there next.hopefully in the next week or so. But love this place, and would love to know if they layby, as our kids are growing FAST! And thank you to Sofia for helping us last time, and would appreciate it greatly if someone could please get back to me either by email, or by mobile to answer my questions urgently, as my eldest daughter is in dire need of shorts and sports, and would love a price list of everything for their school at Banyan Fields P/S Carrum Downs.

I used to love Sofias, though I'm pretty disappointed after last night. Firstly I asked how many standard drinks were in a jug, she asked the back and came back with its just over a litre.not helpful. I also asked what type of alcohol primms was, she came back from asking the back and said its a spirit, which was obvious I was just wondering what type of spirit:/. They then forgot out the fruit of our cocktail, brought back kids milk shakes which we ordered normal ones. After all that they also forgot the dressing on my cellar salad. How could one place make so many mistakes?

Not like the old days when a serve of a gelato was the size of your head, but food was very fast and pretty decent. Service was TERRIBLE! Maybe it was trainee night, but we had to ask for things multiple times. Needed a better manager to manage (some) staff so they weren't just standing around having a chat. I'd go back for the food though, I reckon!

Great service right next to the water which you get a view in the right seat very big meals there food is delicious I love there pizzas

Great location with a huge menu to choose from. Kid friendly and a good space to dine in. Service was a little lack lustre and the toilets a little drug-denny however overall a good feast.

Great food.okay service. I was once ushered away by a lady when it was pouring down rain and I'd ordered chips from the separate kitchen, I had my two little babies and the whole restaurant was empty, and she said I wasn't allowed in to eat because I'd purchased take away. Lucky I love the food and it's right on the beach so super convenient when with the kids.otherwise I'd never be back. Mind you service has been better after that incident.
