Smokey Jake's Neighbourhood BBQ

Just had a fabulous dinner there tonight - fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The winners for me were the fried tofu (recommended by our server), pulled lamb shoulder and mixed fungi. The table-top arcade game was a big hit with the 8yo and the hubby too!

Friendly and attentive service. Authentic American style BBQ, delicious and reasonable pricing, great selection of bourbons too. So happy to find this gem in my new local area. Thanks for a delicious Friday night feed!

Grateful that they were open on Good Friday, however. I put all my money on the brisket, but it was tough. Mac and cheese had an odd flavor.may have been bourbon, in which case I now know that's not my thing. I also wasn't a fan of the black beans and greens. Too many slightly undercooked Black beans.they did advise me it was more like a curry in texture. As an American, I wish they had more of a straight up greens dish, and a simpler approach to the Mac and cheese. The tough brisket, I'll put down to going out on a public holiday. I would have given anything for some good US southern style (savory) biscuits, but they didn't have any. This place is 6 minutes from my house, but I'm on the fence about whether I would try it again.

We contacted Jake to cater for a bbq at our home, and were very pleased with the delicious food and prompt communication. The food came in vacuum sealed bags which were extremely easy to warm up and serve along with the many tasty sauces and sides. The baby back ribs were the highlight.falling off the bone. Would recommend Smokey Jakes for your next event.

Great food at fair prices for American BBQ. The beef brisket is delicious and the chips are hand cut, real potatoes! Try them on a night with one of their specials for a good deal!

Very good food, something different the closest thing to an American Home cooked bbq with all the sides!
Only critique is there's been a couple of extreme over times in the delivery online!

Ordered the hot bun and pork ribs on Uber eats, food was delivered fine and in good time however the burger was not up to standard, the fried chicken batter was horrible I had to throw out the burger, it tasted like salt which makes me think there was an issue in the kitchen. I don’t think I’ve ever had to actually throw something out because I don’t like the taste. Additionally I ordered the pork ribs.you only receive one single rib on a small bed of slaw.
Waste of $60, absolutely disappointing.would avoid ordering this online or at least the chicken burger.

Could not recommend highly enough! We discovered this place by accident, and it might be the highlight of 2021. The food was outstanding, perfectly cooked and unbelievably flavourful. Nothing could be faulted. Already planing our next visit - thanks Jake!

The young lady that served us was fantastic, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food was yummy and take away value was good. Tastes yummy give it a go for sure. We will be back. Thanks

I absolutely love this place. The Ribs, particularly the st Louis ribs, are amazing!
Staff are great, as is the beer.
The wine list needs work, but with 7/5 for the food, they still get 5/5

Customer service ten out of ten.
Sadly food wasn't as good as had hoped for.
Meat was all a bit bland and dry.
For the $92 I was expecting a much higher quality of food. That included one beer and one softdrink.
The slaw was really nice.

The restaurant itself is very over powering with the smoked smell. Had to wash all my clothes when we got home.

Maybe just went on a bad night.
We were the only customers inside at the time.

I do appreciate the effort in presentation of the food and again the staff member who was on duty last Friday was very polite friendly and prompt.
The restaurant is well laid out and parking is pretty easy close to the restaurant.

The meat was deliciously tender and smokey as heck.
The beef short ribs were the best I've ever had, and the smoked popcorn snack was a great treat! The staff were wonderful and accommodating, and Jake himself came out to talk to everyone. Great neighbourhood vibe, can't wait to go back

I was very excited to get this place out and finally did. It was disappointing however Jake’s responded to my DM and offered a credit for another visit. Which I will certainly do but I’m house when I can rather than delivery.

This place is absolutely great and has become a staple during lockdown. Big portion sizes and tasty food, do not miss out on getting the Mac and Cheese or the pork ribs:)

Just tried for the first time, will definitely be back! The baby back ribs and pastrami were standouts, both deliciously smoky and tender. The pickled veg that came with the ribs was a perfect counterpoint and I would get a full order next time.

Jake knows how to smoke, deep through smoking full of flavour some of the best around. It's a place you need to try and give the Lil chicken ribs a try, sensational. Tip go on a Tuesday for the best taste. Would be a 5 if Jake could retain the moisture need to smoke more often. For me the St Louis Pork ribs and brisket the best picks, don't order the chips

Don’t bother we arrived at 6: 30 pm by 8: 30pm still NO FOOD, the place was not busy paid for the drinks and left, DONT waste your time and money,

This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Beautifully cooked meats, the Texas taco salad was superb. The beef burnt ends.oh my god.heaven! Great prices too! And the service was amazing. Hats off to the guy with the accent.dude you were amazing and made our experience awesome! We will definitely be back!
