Really bad service from 2 young staff on 13/12/21. Hair was inside of my food, when I pulled the hair out of my food corn bits were stuck on it

Was told actual food looks different from their fancy Insta posts. Waited for nearly an hour to be served. And the food doesn’t taste good at all. Looks like they were just throwing supermarket grocery on to the plate. Also paid extra $10 for public holiday. The worst cafe experience ever!

Was there Sunday the 2nd Jan and to say it was the worst experience is an understatement. We waited over an hr for our food, were not told it would take long when we were seated, or when we ordered and they weren't busy at all at the time - never mind that there was about 35 people working at the time for some reason. While we waited we overheard a customer say he had been waiting 30 minutes for a takeaway coffee. When our hot finally drinks arrived, the coffee was cold and the chai latte was all water. The service was friendly enough but the particular person who served us was undertrained to the MAX. Didn't know the answer to any questions, but also didn't ask for help. Made guesses about stuff and when I asked him to just ask someone he said he didn't need to, but that he also didn't know the answer so best to just get something else. We were charged a surcharge even though the 2nd is not a public holiday and our order ended up being OVER $100! There was 3 of us for brunch, and we got 1 cocktail each. Absolutely beyond ridiculous. When it came time to pay, we stood at the counter for 10 minutes surrounded by employees swooshing around - at least 6 people behind the counter - each one ignoring us completely. We eventually asked for help and the barista laughed and said "soon". Our table was cleared WELL before we were acknowledged as waiting to pay - We waited another 5 minutes then one of them finally said "oh. Can we help with something? ".

I never review places online. But this was very sweet so I feel it should be recognized.

I’m currently in quarantine - so I was confined to order in today.

I placed an order on uber eats. Waited about an hour and a half for the delivery guy who eventually cancelled after picking it up. I replaced the order and the next one went through (bit delayed again because Uber was having issues finding a delivery person again).

Well, the food eventually got here. It was fantastic as usual. But the staff also must’ve noticed the excessive wait I had with Uber issues, because they wrote a cute note and threw in some extra free stuff just to be nice!

Food was great. Had the breakfast tortilla and key-lime pie. The coffee was amazing. It is very obvious that the baristas put a lot of effort into what they do.

Had the chicken Waffle dish. Very interesting plate that is both savoury and sweet. If I order again I would probably have the waffle in a seperate plate as I didnt like the maple syrup going onto my green salad. Delicious nevertheless

Food was good as wss the coffee. Not a fan of ordering on line and paying before the food is delivered for dine in. Spoiled the memories I have pre covid.

Very nice atmosphere and good food. Went there for brunch on a Saturday after second lockdown was over. Unfortunately they have reduced the range of dish options that you can order online and not flexible with changing sides.also self-ordering online took away some dining out experience (just personal preference) and parking is hard on Johnston Street on busy weekend. Price is reasonable for the quality of food which is fresh.

Absolutely love coming to Sir Charles for brunch - food is so good, I’ve tried their pasta, eggs Benny, brekky burger and corn fritters with truffle. Can’t choose a favourite. If you like sweets, definitely try their lotus biscoff or the Bircher. Great service

Where cauliflower pops, and slow cooked brisket sits politely next to smashed avo and perfectly poached eggs. Interesting menu, roomy, lots of plant oxygenation and great energy. Loved it.

We felt like some eggs Florentine. Found this place online and it did not disappoint! The salmon roti spinach and crumbed eggs were divine. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the pube or chest hair poking out of my avocado this morning ruined the experience for me. I guess it makes me question how hygienic this place is. They were not busy either so a bit of attention to detail would have gone a long way. Disappointed.

I had the Bircher muesli which was very tasty. However the service would have to be the very worst I’ve experienced in Melbourne. It wasn’t even a busy morning, cafe would have been 1/3 full. Since COVID everyone orders and pays via the app. Which would make you think the wait staff had less to do and would be more attentive. However they certainly weren’t. For a table of 5 people our meals all came out at different times. About 45 minutes separated the first meal coming out vs the last and we all ordered via the online site at the same time. Also our empty plates and coffees stayed on our table for an hour and we had to ask staff to clear our table on multiple occasions which made us feel a bit ridiculous. Would definitely not recommend this venue to anyone.

Amazing place, food, service and coffees! I tried Benedicts, it was sublime! And the pappardelle are so good! Green smoothie highly recommended, we also try chocolate cake and cheese cake, that was delicious as well! Totally recommended!

Fabulous coffee experience! We were welcome by a big big smile of the barista. And the food was amazing too! A really good place for family. Impressive customer service! The floor staff recognize me on my second visit. Well done Sir Charles!

I'm posting this whilst I'm still eating my brunch that's how damn tasty it is. I just got simple stuff but was all fantastic which is always a great sign of things overall. Particularly enjoying my strawberry smoothie: D

Great service, great coffee, great food. Really enjoyed the layout and the extra space between tables.

Came here for breakfast and left happy. You order from your phone from their slightly reduced menu due to covid. I had the veggie Benedict such was a really nice twist on a classic. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the mushrooms were smoky and delicious and the hollandaise has a good bit of kick to cut through the richness. Great coffee too, nice and strong!

Food, service and coffee are all okay here. I ordered the mushrooms with eggs and toast option. Although it tasted good and the eggs were cooked well they weren't very generous with the mushrooms which was disappointing as that was meant to be the "star" of the dish.
