Singh's Indian Take Away Food reviews
56Great service with a smile and good prices but food is just okay. Definitely a Bang for the buck. If you prefer good tasting food, then a pass!
Pretty average indian take away. The masala was watery and lacked flavour. Naan was more like damper.
I ordered butter chicken and plain naan that comes with free rice I recommend never getting that free rice it was uncooked which will cause abdomen pain and the naan was burnt as well I lost my 23 bucks
This place is amazinggggg highly recommend. Friendly staff and amazing ambiance! The food is great.
Amazing Food! Could 100% recommend the trip! I travel all the way from Cranbourne West to eat here! The staff are super friendly and nice!
Indulge in a culinary delight at Singhs
Nestled in the heart of Brunswick East, Singhs is a hidden gem that captures the essence of traditional Indian cuisine like no other. As soon as you step into the cozy ambience of this family-run business, you are greeted with warm smiles and a sense of belonging.
The menu is a treasure trove of authentic Indian dishes, carefully crafted with love and expertise by skilled chefs, who have passed down their culinary secrets through generations. From fragrant curries to sizzling tandoori delights, each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavours that transport you to the streets of India.
One bite of their signature Butter Chicken, and you are hooked! The succulent chicken is smothered in a rich, velvety tomato-based sauce that is perfectly balanced with aromatic spices, leaving your taste buds dancing with joy. The tender and juicy pieces of tandoori chicken are a testament to the marination technique, creating a symphony of flavours that leave you craving for more.
The vegetarian options are equally remarkable. The Vegetable Biryani is a medley of fragrant basmati rice, exotic spices, and fresh vegetables, creating a symphony of flavours in every spoonful. The soft and fluffy Naan bread, freshly baked is a heavenly accompaniment to soak up the luscious curries.
As a food lover and an admirer of traditional Indian cuisine, I can confidently say that Singhs has won my heart. It's not just a meal, but a wholesome experience that fills your heart with warmth and your soul with satisfaction.
If you are in search of an authentic Indian culinary adventure, look no further than Singhs. It's a hidden gem that will transport your taste buds to the flavours of India, while also enveloping you in the warmth of a loving family. A true delight for all your senses!
Horribly bland, lamb Rogan Josh tasted like water.no spice … no heat. Eggplant curry had 0 flavour. Just yoghurt. Everything is shockingly overpriced. I had a lot of regret choosing Singhs take away
First time visitor.definitely won't be the last.had the butter chicken and it was the best iv had for a long time.friendly and happy staff.
In comparison with some years ago, we were most disappointed with these curries. My son's Saag Paneer, although mild, was the most disappointing. This tasted like wet, defrosted spinach, with no reminiscence of 'curry' whatsoever. Mine and my wife's vegetarian curries were only marginally better. It will be a long time before I go to Singh's again, in spite of them being at the end of my street!
Singh's offers exactly what it claims to. Local, cheap, simple Indian food. Our somasas were simple but tasty, the saag paneer was tasty, if bland, and the korma was white, and flavourless, as if they'd used just marinated the chicken in cream and nothing else.
Value for money is there, and I ate the food, but it was probably the least tasty Indian food I've had in the area
Delicious indian food! Had been wanting to go for months, not sure why I waited so long but damn it was good. Lovely staff and overall great experience
Was very average tasting Indian food. I ordered the lamb roghan josh - meat was tough and seemed over cooked, sauce was a bit bland. My partner had the butter chicken which was a bit better but still just ok. Serving sizes were good and food is well priced so that gives it a few points I guess.
I used to get takeaway from here all the time when I doing charity work at the Church adjacent, that would have been 10yrs ago, now they've popped up on UberEATS delivering to Thornbury I thought I'll have a go? Still as good as it was, seriously decent sized chicken and lamb in the Vindaloo and Bombay, unlike most other places around and you can tell the sauces are made from scratch and unique to the dish unlike the generic base which come in 10l plastic buckets alot of places use to start a dish. Good job on keeping up the quality and taste which is unforgettable as I realised.
Easy to order with enough choices for both vegetarians and meat eaters. Complimentary rice was a bonus we didn't expect.
This was my first visit to Singhs Indian Take Away where i met Sunny Uncles friend the dynamic Shamsher Singh who set up Singhs in 1986 in suburban Melbourne.
Amazed to see the comprehensive take away menu ranging from souos to samosas to pakodas papads chicken lamb beef fish.and speciality Mango lassis.
The Tandoori drumstick Black lentil daal and Mango milshake was awesome.definitely a must visit again.
Take away only. This has been my Indian food go to for years. When I am nearby I cannot resist
Best indian food in Melbourne hands down. Take away / delivery only. Hope the next generation keeps this place going. Obviously hand me down authentic recipes I'd be devastated not to have. Their Korma is unlike any other in Melbourne. I've tried to find sooooo many others closer to home but keep going back. Yummers!
One of the best indian meals I’ve had in Melbourne. Absolutely delicious and popular for good reason.
I have some complaints to make. After eating food from Singh's I felt like I was going to pop. As I was eating alone and the serving was large, I divided it planning to reheat it for lunch tomorrow. However it was so good I had to eat it all, hence my complaint.
I'm also not happy because I've lived 3 minutes away for 3 years and only now have found this place. I'm not sure why that's your fault, but I'm blaming you anyway.
Bottom line, jokes aside, amazing food and great prices with friendly service from the old-timer behind the counter.
I'll definitely be back. Whenever I can move off my couch again LoL
Average Indian food. After the first try many years ago and not being impressed we thought we’d try again after hearing friends say it was good. Obviously we have different taste.
We found the food bland. The Indian restaurant Basecamp in westgarth / Northcote is heaps better.
Also check your bag closely when you pick up your food, we were short two Parathas
