Singa Pura King of Hawkers reviews
56A tasty selection of Singaporean food with friendly service in a clean and homely environment. The chilli crabs is a standout, authentic and are a must try if you love your seafood spicy. The large coconut cream drink was also impressive and was a hit with my 3 year old. Great restaurant for the family.
I wish you would rethink your packaging I understand the need to be sustainable but it shouldn’t come at the expense of quality. The food sticks to the packaging when it cools so you have half your food stuck to the package. And also while transportation it gets squashed causing your food to spill. The flavours were good I enjoyed whatever I could get off the pack. Also not sure why your Hokkien mee doesn’t come with the white bee hoon. Again taste was good but packaging completely ruin the dish as it became soggy and got stuck to the pack.
Excellent food great and friendly atmosphere fast service and not pushing us we tried 6 entree and 6 mains all great just like Singapore (with out the heat of summer)
Not the most authentic. They served me the wrong noodles. The seafood consisted of two very small prawns and 3 slices of fish cake. The roti was cheap $2 but the curry sauce was $4, he tried to sell me the $9 curry sauce with 2 roti which would be more expensive than buying them separate. A lot of up-selling, constantly asking me to buy drinks. The curry sauce wasn’t very nice and thickened with corn starch or something, it was like glue. The roti was the frozen type, not cooked completely and very doughy, needed to be more crispy. Lacked a lot of flavour overall.
A rip-off, very disappointed with this place for charging $5 for extra peanuts and anchovies without even informing me beforehand. I only realised after I got home when my friend pointed out they had charged me $5 for it (it was the last item on a long receipt), extremely absurd especially to a Malaysian/Singaporean.
I ordered the nasi lemak which cost $13.90 that came with fried chicken and the usual stuff and you're telling me the extra peanuts and anchovies is worth more than 1/3 the entire dish? Refer to the photo attached and you can see the default amount of peanuts and anchovies it came with.
(1) Very unethical for not informing beforehand (2) the $5 amount itself just for extra peanuts and anchovies
We had the $16 lunch special - fishballs or spring rolls, a main, and a drink. The portions are big, the drinks are big too. Service friendly and excellent. Very good value for money, BUT we thought the food could be better.e. G.the kuey teow was cooked with thinner pad thai noodles which detracts from the dish, in our opinion.
I visit SingaPura in Victoria St Richmond/Abbotsford quite regularly both dining in or take away and have found the food to be fresh and tasty. The Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Kway Teow and Satay Chicken Skewes are my favourites. Staff are always friendly The environment and decor is plain, simple and comfortable, however they needed to turn up the heating to warm up the space as it was a tad cold. Prices are excellent and affordable.
Very delicious food with generous servings at very good prices. Staff are also very nice, seems to be a family-run business. Definitely recommended!
One of the best restaurants - amazing delicious Singaporean eats! Always delicious in house or takeaway. Top favourite dishes are chicken wings, chicken curry and mi goreng. Love it and great value!
Satay, Wonton Noodles and Chye Teow Kwey - Yummy!
Clean, fast and delicious food. Polite staff
Have loved everything I’ve had here. I ordered in a lot from here during lockdown and although the menu on uber eats doesn’t have all the “big eats” items that you’d find at the restaurant, I enjoyed everything I ordered.
The chilli crab was great.
Takes a while to get through, very delicious.
One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne.
Ordered delivery of the Hor Fun. Gravy was fine but pathetically small portion of thin rice noodles. They should be wide one to be authentic.
We love Singaporean food and this place definitely serves authentic Singaporean food. I had the Prawn Hokkien Mee today and my wife had the fried carrot cakes and they were spectacular.not to say the price is also not overly expensive.we really enjoyed the meal here and would definitely come back.highly recommended!
The foods are good, the only setback is they charged the takeaway container. This is a small amount, I think they are the only shop I encountered charged container on take away foods.
Nice place for quality Singaporean hawker centre fare just on the fringes of the city. Their Char Kuay Teow is definitely a contender for being one of the best in Melbourne and it is one of the only places where you can get fried carrot cake as well. Definitely recommended.
Black carrot cake and fried chicken were amazing. I was also a big fan of the Ice Cendal. Will come back.
BEST FOOD! Everything is fresh and amazing. Such an incredible price point and amazing family business. My favourite takeaway in Melbourne
This places make authentic Singaporean food, and I came back specifically for the traditional carrot cake. Tastes like home!
Great and fast service, with well priced, yummy food. The restaurant had a nice modern vibe to it.
Loved the vibe and the helpful staff. Ordered medium spicy mee goreng and fish balls. Sooo good!
